Our family home is decorated to a high modern standard and only available for rent for four weeks per year. A wraparound deck allows you to enjoy the views whilst the flat lakefront is the best around. The location is peaceful and scenic yet conducive to family fun.
The house comprises four large bedrooms and three bathrooms. One King and two Queen bedrooms are on the second floor with the open plan kitchen/dining/living area and two bathrooms (one en suite); the kids' room is on the first floor with one bunk bed set (sleeps two) and one twin bed set (can be combined to one Queen) plus the den/entertainment centre area and third bathroom. The plot is fairly level and allows access to main living area via two steps and access to the permanent dock and boats by one step.
The wraparound porch allows the sunset to be enjoyed whilst dining outside; also enabling activity at the lake front to be observed and the kids to be watched on the climbing frame at the rear of the house. "Lake toys" include a wooden canoe and various inflatables/noodles. Boat whips allow mooring of renter's boats. Water depth reaches three feet approximately 15 feet from shore, dropping off quickly to six feet at front corner of permanent dock and 20 feet at furthest point of dock. Good fishing can be had off the dock (subject to licence) and stories of "the one that got away" abound by the lakeside camp fire.
The house is located at South Lake Road, about 0.75 miles south of Vine Valley. The house is located across the road from the lake. The narrow road is a dead-end road with approximately 20 houses beyond ours and is used by walkers, runners, and cyclists.
