Holzman’s Bayside is a first floor apartment overlooking the water. Bayside is located on a small resort property nestled in a native hammock on Florida Bay. An easy 90 minute drive from Miami International Airport, this property is located in the heart of Islamorada, directly on Florida Bay, in a secluded native hammock. Bayside is fully air conditioned and there are ceiling fans throughout. The kitchen is modern and equipped with all the desired appliances. The property is a nature lovers dream with resident fish, lobster, an octopus and an occasional manatee in the marina, iguanas that sun themselves by the boat basin and pelicans, egrets and osprey that fly in for periodic visits. Our boat basin can accommodate boats up to 26 feet in length and dockage is included in the rental.
The property is private and secluded, away from traffic and noise, yet is convenient to many of the best restaurants and attractions in the Keys. A variety of shopping is nearby. Sunsets over the water of Florida Bay are breathtaking. Well behaved pets are welcome, please inquire.
Bayside has a master bedroom with a king size bed and it's own bathroom. There is a second bath. There is a new queen size Murphy bed in the living room. The living room and dining area are bright and sunny. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, range and microwave, dishwasher, icemaker, coffee pot, blender, dishes and pots and pans. A barbecue is provided to grill your fresh catch. The entertainment center has a TV with cable services, a DVD player, and stereo should it rain one afternoon. A clothes washer and dryer are provided. The marina has electric service and water, and has automatic lights at night. A boat ramp is available for boats up to 17-18 feet. Trailer parking is available. Included in the rental is admission to the Islamorada Founders Park, just a short drive north to Plantation Key where you will find an olympic size pool, tennis, ball fields, and other amenities.
You're minutes away from the best back country (bonefish, tarpon, permit, snook, redfish), blue water (sailfish, dolphin, wahoo, cobia) and reef fishing (grouper, snapper, yellowtail) in the entire Florida Keys. Fishing off of our jetty in the evening is a lot of fun for the kids. Magnificent snorkeling and scuba diving sites abound in the local area. A wide range of boating activities are available year round since our area of the bay is well protected. Sea Kayaking and canoeing along our shoreline is popular. Of course water skiing and knee-boarding are a hit with the kids. Local shopping for clothing, souvenirs, and fishing and boating needs is plentiful. Grocery stores are convenient. There are several local attractions if you need a day out of the sun and there are several . Key West is a day-trip away.
Bayside is an unique place, and the people who visit, both owners and guests, feel very special about the property. The privacy is wonderful, the accommodations are new and clean, the property peaceful, and the access to the fishing is the best in the Keys, indisputably. Bayside generally rents for 1 week intervals, from Saturday to Saturday. If Bayside is what you are looking for, please contact us and to reserve the dates. The reservation will be confirmed upon receiving a check for $500.00. The balance of the rental costs including tax (11.5%) and refundable security deposit($100.00) are due 6 weeks before arrival.

Why the Owner Chose Islamorada
We were introduced to this property in 1984 by very close friends, Phyllis & Bob Mitchell (VRBO#34491) who had just purchased their unit. It was love at first sight, the open views of Florida Bay, the magnificent sunsets, the privacy and great boating facilities. It took 7 years for another unit to come up for sale and when it did we jumped on it in 1991. That wass our first unit, the Keys Kottage (VRBO # 33938). In fact, it took two years to completely remodel the Keys Kottage, every weekend and vacation. We enjoyed being there so much that when we finished and began to rent the Keys Kottage to special guests we had to buy another unit (VRBO# 72385) and start all over again, just so we could spend our free time there. This unit which is on the water overlooking our boat basin and Florida Bay became Bayside which we made into a very special place, for our own use. But we didn't count on our grandchildren (five of them) living in the northeast. So now that we are retired, we spend all of our spare time on airplanes visiting our grandchildren. And our special Bayside is available for guests to enjoy.

Bayside, and the property we know as Holiday House, is a unique property unlike almost anything in the keys. It is small and private, yet the owners and guests who vacation here are warm and friendly. We are centrally located in the heart of Islamorada and convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, tourist attractions, marinas and fuel docks and access to the back country or the patch reefs and offshore fishing. And without a doubt this is the finest location to watch the most gorgeous sunsets over the water,........ and if you're real lucky you just might see the green flash!

We're Bernie & Linda Holzman and Bayside is one of two units we have on this property. We're originally New Yorkers but have lived in Florida for more than 30 years. Our kids grew up on this property and we consider ourselves very lucky that we have had the opportunity to enjoy it and help develop it into a special vacation destination for families and couples who love the water, boating, diving and fishing as do we.

The accommodation is very confortable with a great aspect and super views out over the bay and with every facility you could ask for. Surrounded by wildlife including ospreys, squirrels (who feed from your hand) and dolphins in the bay we found ourselves staying on the property and relaxing rather more than we have ever done in our previous visits to the Keys. Our neighbors on the property were all very friendly and I hope we have made some lasting friendships especially with Evelyn and Jim Schafer who were always available with help and advice.
