We arrived and immediately enjoyed the views off the back deck, different tides and wildlife. Photos accurately depict the villa. Villa was clean when we arrived. Beach pass was great. tremendous restaurants closeby and in Beaufort. Would recommend to a friend.

What a beautiful location! A real gem! Hubby & I chose the hotel side B for a 3 night stay. The room was just great, slightly smaller than a normal hotel room, but it fit our needs just fine; included a lovely granite shower, lush towels, walk-in closet that housed a half-sized refrig./freezer (perfect for the visit), coffee pot, condiments, and even eating utensils and plates and napkins, a very nice surprise. I would gladly recommend this property to relatives and friends, and Heide is very helpful to respond to inquiries. We visited Hunting Island every day; very much appreciating the parking pass provided in the guest binder. On the drive back from the beach, we enjoyed eating at the Shrimp Shack. It looks like a dive, but, wow, the fried shrimp and flounder were excellent! We also visited Beaufort several times. This Dataw villa is in an excellent location, 22 min. from beach, 7 min. from Beaufort. We experienced low traffic volume, which we were delighted about, as we visited from June 16-19. Another bonus: a full moon and gorgeous reflection from the water on the dock behind the villa. It was peaceful and mesmerizing..we loved sitting at the end of the dock, gazing at the stars. Loved walking the grounds, visiting the historic plantation remains, capped off w/a tasty beer and meal at the club pub.

We enjoyed our stay at the villa over Thanksgiving and may consider a return trip in the future. The tidal marsh is very impressive and the old plantation ruins being so close is great. My son and I were able to walk the golf course in the morning when they were doing the groundskeeping, which is a nice and unusual walking option. We all agreed, including the twenty-somethings, that the bike seats were too hard... but maybe it was the chilly weather! We found several good places to eat and played golf at Lady's Island Country Club one afternoon for $37. We'll try the Marine base course next time. We took Jon Sharpe's walking tour, which was great. Very good with historical details of the area and how it fit into SC and US history. We didn't swim, but checked out the community center and it looks fantastic. Would be great if we brought grandkids sometime. Didn't get to the beach, buy hey, we're from Florida.

Owner: This owner or property manager - Heidi - is extremely organized, professional, responsive, and kind. Detailed directions were emailed to us shortly after payment was received. The directions were good and we had no problems accessing the property. Emails were promptly returned when we had questions before our vacation. During the vacation itself, we had to call the owner with a few questions and she returned that call - on the weekend - within minutes. Property: Overall, the villa is in an extremely safe neighborhood protected by a gated entrance that is staffed with security 24/7. The neighbors were friendly. The island is absolutely beautiful. We had no problems with mosquitoes or gnats when we sat outside. They have a really nice deck in the back that is comfortable. We were able to sleep at night with no loud noises from neighbors. Villa: This villa was exactly as the description mentioned. It was extremely clean and well maintained. It was easy to access the bikes and go kayaking. The local restaurants were great and it was only a 15-20 minute ride to the beach. Since they have a beach pass, we did not have to pay for parking and that saved us a lot of money. That was REALLY nice. Personal Experience/Tips: We wanted to spend most of our time on the beach. We just needed a place to sleep after coming home and so we rented "Side B". It was perfect. We placed our "snacky" breakfast and lunch items in the small fridge and had a coffee maker to make our light breakfasts complete. We went to the beach for the day and usually ate out for dinner. If you want to do some true cooking, it might be best to rent "Side A." However, we did do some grilling for a couple of our dinners and it worked out well. As I am writing this review, I am also planning another trip to go back next month for a longer stay! That is the highest recommendation that I can offer.

It's our second trip to Dataw and to the Temples lovely Villa. We absolutely love Dataw. We brought our own bikes and along with my 10 yr old twins road around the island 2-3 times a day! Great set up with the Condo/Hotel side. Kids can be tucked away with their own TV while I could relax in the Den of the Villa. Dinner at the Foolish Frog, or one of the many wonderful waterfront restaurants in Beaufort were great to take a break from cooking. I highly recommend staying here. We'll be back for a 3rd, 4th, 5th...time! Dee Atlanta, GA

We spent a week at the villa from June 15 to June 22, 2008. As we had never been in this area, we spent our days exploring the history and culture in Beaufort, Charleston, and Savannah. The villa was perfect for relaxing in the evenings after these outings, none of which were too far! On days not traveling we explored the island, swam in the pool, or visited Hunting Island which was another treat! We had 3 adults and 4 teenagers. The place is so insulated, that upstairs or in part B we never heard the kids as they enjoyed late night games, movies, and eating in the den! Beautiful scenary, quiet comfort, and the bed upstairs is like sleeping in heaven! We all came home and are looking in to buying some for our own homes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved every minute!

I spent most of March in the villa and couldn't have asked for a more perfect extended stay - watching the sunrise, walks around the beautiful property, easy access to Beaufort, peace and quiet with all the amenties. Best of both worlds.

Wow- Dataw is great. This rental provides a super opportunity to explore this resort, while at the same time having easy access to Beaufort, military facilities, and Hunting Island. Who could ask for more. Flawless rental experience all the way through.

We had a great five day vacation on Dataw. The kayaks, proximity to the dock, pool and ocean provided us with all sorts of options each day. We will come back. Thank you.

We spent the weekend at the villa with our family of 6. It was quiet and relaxing. We had everything in the villa we needed. Hunting Island was close enough for our teens to enjoy. They enjoyed the kayaks and catching crabs at the island. The pool was beautiful for our youngest daughter. Everyone was very friendly. We had a great time, just wished we could have stayed longer and hope to go back soon.

Wonderful villa! Very peaceful and great view of the marsh. We have two teenage children who enjoyed the crabbing and fishing from the dock. The kayaks/bikes were a great addition as well.

A wonderful place to stay! Waking up to the sunrise and birds beats an alarm clock any day! We could have spent all day watching the wildlife and tidal changes, but there were so many other things to do -- sports, hiking, the state park and beach. Great villa, great community. We'll be back.

We stayed for a week and had one of our best vacations to date. We took the kayaks out every day; we ate crabs and played with the crab's and marine life out on the dock. The condo came with a pass for the state park and the state park was wonderful and relaxing as well. Thanks so much!

My husband and I had a great time in and around Dataw Island. The villa was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you can think of. We caught our lunch and dinner every day (crabs and shrimp). We would like to visit again in the future.

I spent 2 weeks this summer in this villa on Dataw Island. It was wonderful. The villa had everything you could need. The view was great! The pool and snack shop was excellent. The club dining was delicioius. I spent most of the two weeks alone and felt very safe and secure. I went to Hunting Island every morning and back again some evenings. I can't wait to go back. Well worth your time and money to visit.

Stayed at the villa for three nights. The location is wonderful. Not far from Beaufort or Hunting Island. The villa has a bedroom and a lofted bedroom. Take out the kayaks and enjoy the marsh.
