January Sale! 2bd, 2BA Condo 1.5 Blocks to Main St - Wifi
Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Twin Elks Lodge
We purchased the Twin Elks Lodge for several reasons. First, of course, is the fact it is located in Breckenridge. Breckenridge is nice small town with almost everything with a short walk from the condo. Another reason is its ready access to the ski slopes. The shuttle bus stops right in front of the condo units and it is 3 – 5 minute ride to the slopes. When we are finished with a day of skiing, we take the Four O’Clock run down and ski to within walking distance to the condo.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We enjoy staying in our condo (when it is available). It is great being able to park the car in our garage and not have to use it again until we pack up to leave. We enjoy walking in to town for breakfast or dinner or to browse through the fun shops. The condo location is quiet and close to so many activities.
In the summer, we enjoy biking from Breck toward Frisco on the bike path. In the cool of the morning, it is fun to walk around the area near the condo.
In the winter, we walk to the front of the condo complex and take the shuttle bus up to the base of Peak 8 for a great day of skiing. The shuttle also stops at the Nordic Center for Karen, when she goes cross country skiing.
Owner's Map of Twin Elks Lodge
Karen and Dennis are originally from central Wisconsin – Wausau and Antigo. In Wisconsin we lived in Fond du Lac, Madison, and Germantown. We have also lived in Salem, OR, Cincinnati, OH, Albuquerque, NM and now in Broomfield, CO. We have come to really love two parts of the country, the coast of Oregon and Mountains of Colorado.
When we were living in Albuquerque, we started taking weekend trips to the Colorado Mountains staying in numerous ski resort areas. When we arrived in Breckenridge we realized this is the place we wanted to spend some time. We decided to begin looking for a condo and when we found Twin Elks, we knew it was the one we wanted. It is newer condo, well maintained with townhouse setup – living area on the second floor and the bedrooms on the first.
The condo also fulfilled one our major requirements, it just a little over a block away for Main Street which allows us to park the car and walk anywhere we want.

Our group had a fantastic time at your condo! The location was fantastic (so easy to ski home on 4 O'Clock) and we loved being so close to town (we walked in every night)! The condo was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies and was wonderfully cozy. We made great use of the hot tub and games as well! Thanks to Karen and Dennis for being so helpful and accommodating!

We stayed here during ski season and found the condo suited our needs quite well. It had very easy access to Peak 8 by bus. The hot tub was relaxing. It was also really nice to have a garage, so no need to scrape ice off the car. We actually rarely used the car since it was so easy to walk downtown from the condo. One complaint was that there was a strange constant humming from the furnace. But really, the kitchen was well-stocked. The living area was very comfortable. And Karen and Dennis did a wonderful job of making us feel welcomed to their condo.

My friends and I had a great time at Karen and Dennis's place. Main St. in Breck is an easy 5 min walk and the shuttle to the lifts is literally in front of the complex. You can even ski to the building if the roads are snow-covered. Just ski from the 4 O'Clock run onto Sawmill Road down to Ski Hill Road...you'll be directly across from the complex. Anyway, we had a great time and will absolutely come back and stay there again!

The property was fabulous, wonderful, and I could go on and on!! It exceeded all of our expectations. It is in walking distance to practically everything!!! It had every accommodation we could have ever needed, except a baby gate for the stairs. Haha! So, bring a baby gate if you have a little one. The condo owners responded quickly to email and had our getaway packet to us in plenty of time!! We would definitely stay in this condo again and plan to do so in two years for our son's senior trip. Thank you Dennis and Karen for opening up your home to us!! The Raffray's
Owner response:Brittany & Jeff, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on your stay at our condo. Never thought about needing a baby gate - now we will supply one. Karen & Dennis

What a great retreat from the Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA! We appreciated how comfortable, clean and tastefully appointed the condo was during our stay. It was great that we could take a siesta during the middle of the day and return to the slopes. Thanks for making it available.
