In the heart of Perigord, the manor des Lespine, built in the 16th century, is situated in the middle of a 50 acres property along the Vern River. Its half timbered well, the dovecote, the traditional bread oven and the pool hidden behind a curtain of greenery will delight those who are looking for a charming vacation rental in Dordogne in an authentic and peaceful environment. The inside entirely renovated is decorated with refinement and combines the respect of local architecture and furniture with modern comfort. The quietness and the magic of the site create perfect conditions for unforgettable vacation in Perigord.

The renovation of the inside has given the manor its original inner arrangement. The ochre painted beams, the cherry tree period furniture, the oak wood and terracotta floors create a warm and cosy atmosphere. The 3 feet thick walls of the house constitute a so good thermal insulation that when it’s very hot outside, it’s always cool inside. The house is equipped with a central heating system and there is a fireplace in every room of the first floor. The manor is fully equipped with modern amenities: oven, microwave oven, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, satellite TV, a 50’’ plasma screen, tuner, K7 player, DVD player, collection of DVDs, wifi internet access, …

The accommodation capacity of the manor ranges from 10 to 12 persons according to the composition of the party. 7 beds are distributed in 5 bedrooms and a mezzanine as follows:
- the parents’ bedroom at 2nd floor: king size bed (1,60m wide) and private bathroom,
- the Marion’s bedroom at 2nd floor: double bed (1,40m wide) and private bathroom),
- the Sarah’s bedroom at 3rd floor: double bed (1,40m wide) and private bathroom),
- the friends’ bedroom at first floor: double bed (1,40m wide),
- the kids’ bedroom at 3rd floor: a single bed (0,9m wide) and an extra large single bed (1,10m wide),
- the mezzanine at 3rd floor: a single bed (0,90m wide).
Additional beds including a baby bed can be provided on request.
There is also a bathroom (with shower and toilet) in the laundry at first floor.

The property is partly covered by a mixed forest of cedar trees, cherry trees, oaks and ash trees. The other part is a meadow in which 3 horses graze. On each side of the valley, a huge wooded plateau is crossed by many paths ideal for trekking, biking or horse riding. Within the property you can idle about, enjoy the pool, bath or fish in the Vern River and even ride (if horses are required).
In the surroundings, the medieval village of Grignols (2 km of the house), the picturesque Saint Astier market (8 km of the house) and Perigueux downtown (remarkably renovated) are worth seeing. Visit also Brantôme, the “Venice of Perigord” in the Dronne valley and of course the famous Vezere and Dordogne valleys. Don’t forget either the vineyards of Montabazillac and Saint Emilion where you’ll be able to test your capacity to recognize the fragrance of the wine. Those who like prehistoric sites will be delighted in Les Eysies, Lascaux and Rouffignac areas: caves, open sites, museums, .... The region is also rich in medieval castles open to the public. Finally of course, the Perigord gastronomic restaurants are waiting for your visit.
