Casa Muy Grande is a luxurious beachfront estate that once served as a small boutique hotel. The property is now privately owned and available as a weekly rental. This gorgeous villa offers all the amenities of a hotel with the serenity and seclusion of a private residence.
Casa Muy Grande boasts five large bedrooms, each with an adjacent bathroom, air conditioning, small refrigerator and featherweight down comforters. The four first-floor bedrooms each have their own plasma television. Each bedroom has its own private entrance, except the master bedroom, which is located on the second floor and features beautiful views from its private balcony. Among Casa Muy Grande's many amenities is a private pool, hot tub, large tiki bar, and a fun-ball court.
The property is located directly on Playa Grande beach which is well known for its world class surfing and pristine, untouched coast-line. Of course, surfboards and boogie boards are available for your use during your stay.
The Costa Rican government has declared Playa Grande part of a national park (called Parque Marino las Baulas), placing restrictions on development in the area so all forms of wildlife are thriving along the beach and at Casa Muy Grande. Visitors are often awakened to the sound of monkeys swinging in the trees of this 2-acre private property. From late September until March, leatherback turtles swim to shore directly in front of the estate to nest and lay their eggs.

This beautiful house was the perfect getaway. Steps away from the beach made sun bathing and surfing effortless. The private accommodations and helpful staff on the property were remarkable. It was the most relaxing vacation I've ever been on! Additionally, the proximity to Tamarindo was great because its close to all the fun restaurants and nightlife, however, it's far enough away so that you can enjoy the quiet/tranquil atmosphere of Playa Grande. There are also many great restaurants walking distance from the house. Bula Bula and Cantarana....just to name a few. Everyday we watched the sun set overe the ocean and woke up the next morning to the sound of the waves crashing. Just Perfect!!

I was at Casa Muy Grande a few weeks ago with a group of friends. It was, simply put, one of the best weeks of my life. The natural, scenic beauty of Playa Grande is unparalleled. The surrounding area is far enough removed from the more touristy area of Tamarindo to give a really authentic, Central American adventure experience. But the locale also has all the amenities you want for first rate travel - excellent restaurants (I particularly recommend Cantarana, right across the street from CMG), spa/fitness services (massage, yoga, etc.), and a few fun and colorful bars. The surf on the Nicoya peninsula is world famous and, living up to it's reputation, we got some great surf session while we were down there. The staff at CMG (Jose and Carolina) are amazing, so friendly and they keep the house running like a 5 star hotel. I definitely plan on returning to Costa Rica in the future and will be booking my stay at the awesome CASA MUY GRANDE!

I just finished my first stay at Casa Muy Grande and I am already counting the days until I can go back! The house is incredible from the rotunda driveway with HUGE Palms, to a full on tiki bar with fun ball court and foosball table. The grounds keeper and his wife were pleasant, attentive and engaging despite our language barrier. From cooking amazing seafood dinners for our party, to shinning bright spotlights in the dark to guide us to the local bar, they were phenomenal! The house itself is incredible with full AC, pool, and plenty of space for everyone (we were a group of 10 guys). What's more is that the beach is picture perfect and never crowded. We surfed during the day and played beach soccer at dusk as the sunset! Pura Vita! If you are looking for a vacation rental, Casa Muy Grande is the spot to be hands down.

When we pulled up to the entrance rotunda, the only thing I could think about was the movie Scarface. This place was amazing and the inside didn't disappoint either. Great pool area to relax in, great recreational facilitates, right on the amazing beach that is not too crowded, really a perfect spot. The staff was great, they prepared us a fresh seafood dinner that could rival big time restaurants back in the states. They were very friendly and helpful and even came out to play beach soccer with us. It's a little bit of a trek to Tamarindo but I think you would be hard pressed to find a better vacation rental in the area.

Just got back form my second stay at Casa Muy Grande, and although I didn't think it was possible it was even better this time! The new groundsman, Jose and his wife Catalina, are absolutely amazing! They have kept the place in impeccable order, repaired all kinks in the place, and maintain the house and the property perfectly. They were able to accommodate every request that we made, and made us feel welcome and secure while we were there (for 10 days). You cannot get a better location or a better house! I will be going back here again!

I just returned home from an unbelievable week in the beautiful Costa Rican Casa Muy Grande. Rising each morning for sunrise yoga on the beach and bathing in the warm surf of the receding tide was sublime. What a way to start a day in the sun! As the yoga teacher for four women I found this beautiful villa a perfect match for a restorative, rejeuvenating week of sun, fun, spa treatments, exceptional restaurants, home group cooking with the help of staff and Costa Rican flavorings. For a relaxing and uplifting vacation there can be no better way to experience this peaceful paradise. Surfing , swimming, hiking, relaxing with a beach massage or a good book...the white sands of Playa Grande await...Thank you Jose, Inez and Maria for your incredible service and attention...and thank you to the staff of neighboring eateries, Bula Bula, MarySol, Cantarana....Most of all...Thank You Casa Muy Grande!
