This lovely apartment is ideally located for experiencing the San Telmo area and all that it has to offer. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, with all the basics covered and then some. The main living area of the apartment is roomy and bright, with a well-stocked kitchen and a washing machine that came in very handy. The bedrooms are simple but comfortable, with ample closet space, and each room has it's own air conditioning unit and heater. The water heater is a bit persnickety, but being an on-demand water heater once you persuade it to cooperate the hot water flows immediately and without limitation - really a plus! The in-apartment telephone line is blocked for anything other than a very limited set of "local" calls and cannot be used to call even local cell phones, making it impossible to use that phone to contact the apartment manager whose phone is a cell phone, and that is a minor inconvenience but a cell phone is provided for tenants to use after buying airtime for it so not really a big problem. Walking to Dorrego Plaza (a must-see and especially the antique fair on Sundays!) and any number of local sights, clubs, and lovely restaurants and shops is a matter of a few minutes, and for longer journeys there is a common stopping point for taxis on the next corner. There is a delightful restaurant next door run by the nicest couple from Colombia you could ever hope to meet, who welcomed us like family and bent over backwards to help us however they could. The street is busier than one would expect for a narrow one-way street a bit off the large main streets, but street noise really isn't a problem. Both the apartment owner (US-based) and apartment manager (in the building) are friendly, helpful, and truly a pleasure to work with. When we ran into a bit of a travel emergency, they both offered their assistance without hesitation. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wishing for a great place to stay in the heart of San Telmo. I hope to travel to Buenos Aires again, and this apartment will be first on my list!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We found the listing info to be accurate along with the photos shown. The location was ideal for us as we were near many restaurants, the subway, food marts, and a square where tango dancing was ongoing daily. We recommend Des Nivel for excellent Argentinian beef at reasonable prices, just a few blocks away. We were able to walk to many BA museums and historical sites within 1/2 hour of the apt. An ATM was within 2 blocks. We also walked about 20 minutes to Puerto Madero (port on the Rio Plata river) where we had pleasant jogging experiences. The unit was well maintained; when hot water became an issue, the on-site super made a quick fix. The owner was extremely helpful in working with us and our many questions prior to signing up. We would definitely recommend this unit to friends and relatives. A little knowledge of Spanish would be helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
