Relax and enjoy our beautiful two-story townhome in Winter Park, Colorado. Situated in a small wooded complex, our town home radiates a true mountain home atmosphere. Yet it is conveniently located within walking distance to charming downtown Winter Park and its restaurants, shopping, night life, and child-friendly parks. The world class Winter Park ski resort is only 4 miles away and during the winter, shuttle buses arrive at the complex 4 times every hour to provide free transportation either to the resort, to downtown, or to nearby Fraser, where the grocery store and tubing hill are located.
Our 1330 square foot, two-story town home contains all the comforts and conveniences of home. Leave your skis or snowboard in the private ski closet outside and enter through a mud room perfect for holding all your outdoor things. The ground floor contains a master bedroom with a queen bed, cable TV and DVD player, and attached full bath, and a second bedroom with two twin beds that can be converted to a king bed and adjacent full bath. There is also a washer and dryer for your use and a private hot tub located on an enclosed porch off the master bedroom perfect for relaxing in after a full day's adventure.
Upstairs is spacious, open, and bright with vaulted pine ceilings, windows galore, and a large skylight. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, an adjacent dining room and a half bath. This opens into the great room with a moss rock fireplace, a sofa sleeper that converts to a queen bed, and an entertainment center with cable TV, DVD/VCR player, and CD player equipped with an AV cable for playing your iPod. An adjoining nook area contains a second table for games, cards, and puzzles. A south facing enclosed sun porch off the great room is perfect for reading or quietly observing wildlife on sunny afternoons.
And WiFi (wireless internet) service allows computer use throughout!
Summer is a marvelous time to visit Winter Park. There are over 600 miles of mountain biking trails in the area and the resort offers a chair lift to carry you and your bike up the mountain for downhill riding. The resort also features an alpine slide, mini golf, and climbing wall. Numerous hiking trails lead into the surrounding wilderness and scenic golf courses are available nearby, as is fishing, rafting, and horseback riding. Rodeos and art and music festivals provide summer entertainment and Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, Lake Granby, and the hot mineral springs are all within a 45 minute drive.
Winter Park is also a winter wonderland, with fantastic skiing and boarding at the Winter Park/Mary Jane resort. The resort also provides snowshoe trails and tours, snow cat tours, and chair lift rides for the non-skier. In addition, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, tubing, snowmobiling along the Continental Divide, sleigh rides, dog sled rides, and ice skating are all nearby. And whatever you choose to do, relax in the quiet comfort of our town home on your return.
