Our family had not been able to gather together during the past 9 years. Finallly we decided to meet near Atlanta and we found Rocky River Lodge online. Our time together was wonderful and the Lodge met our needs and was great for all of us. We needed space for 5 couples and 11 kids ranging from 2 years to 17 years of age. It worked! The only difficulty we had was with the pull out beds for two couples. Mattresses were too thin and we are too heavy! We compensated by using some of the mattresses in the lodge and a few blow-up beds the owners left for us. The river scenery was fantastic even though we missed the warm weather. The kids had a blast in the huge backyard near the river. We could have used a little more refrigerator space since we did a huge Thanksgiving meal. Brian and Cindy were great people with whom to work and plan. Google maps took us right to the lodge but I would suggest arriving before dark on the first day.

Andre & Francis 30th Birthday Cabin Trip
Andre & Francis 30th Birthday Cabin Trip
First of all, the owners are just the best people to work with and very helpful. From the start, the website was easy to use and follow, pictures were okay but could use more and newer ones, description of the home and what it had to offer was sufficient, location of the property was easy to get to, and the gated community made us feel more comfortable (unfortunately we didn't have a chance to use the amenities). The house was clean on arrival, we had brought too much kitchen stuff and would've been fine using what the house had, thermostat setting was fine, all the bedding was comfy but could not easily find the linens for each pull-out sleeper, fire wood was available all weekend, balls for outdoor sports were flat and couldn't find a pump (luckily we brought our own), gas log fire place downstairs wasn't working right, but this did not hinder anything. Close to lots of attractions i.e., Ellijay (1hr), Toccoa Swinging Bridge (1.5hr), Stone Mountain (2hrs), and Piggly Wiggly, Wal-Mart, Starbucks, and Ingles just a few minutes away. Our group will definitely come back to this rental property again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others!

The view was amazing and there was plenty to do...
This property was great for our church's young adult retreat! The size allowed us to have plenty of space for everyone to sleep, as well as to gather and eat. The view was amazing and there was plenty to do - whether it was relaxing by the river, playing basketball or playing games inside. By the end of the weekend, I had several people already asking if we could come back next year. On another note, the owners were very helpful and easy to work with. They answered all my questions and made sure we had a great stay.

This was the best experience ever! My family and I enjoyed it so much. It was perfectly entertaining for my 7 year old son. It was wonderful and refreshing to take him out in the canoe. He also enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, fishing, and roasting marshmallows. I enjoyed drinking coffee and reading a book early in the morning on the porch before everyone else got up. The main level was practical for my 90 year old grandmother, and she didn't have to go up steps to go inside the cabin. I don't want to ever stay anywhere else! We have started a tradition and will definitely be back!!

Awesome House on the River
Awesome House on the River
This house is everything they advertise PLUS more. We had a great weekend with 7 teen-aged boys playing basketball, football, pool, foosball. Climbing on the rocks on the river and grilling out. The home is clean and well-equiped. Lots to do and very quiet and secluded. We had a white water rafting trip planned about an hour away and there were many other things to do in the area. But, frankly, there is so much to do at the house, you can specd days there relaxing and playing on the property.

Best river house in Ga
Best river house in Ga
We vacation in Ga a couple times a year and have stayed at many houses.River Lodge was by far the best and our favorite. There is so much to do at the house, you will not want to leave. We used the canoes/tubes & floated down the river everyday we were there, the kids played basketball & volleyball. We ended each night with fellowship around a fire pit. If you take a walk at dusk you will see many deer with their fawns. This river house has everything you need with a breathtaking, outstanding view. We left today planning our next vacation to come back. Love love love this house!

We really enjoyed our stay at Rocky River Lodge. The lodge was larger than we expected which was great for our group of 20. There was so much to do at the lodge, tubing, boating, horseshoes, basketball, puzzles and the hottub that we stayed there all weekend. The owners were good to work with and prompt with answers. The directions in the listing were great but the house is hard to find at night. Our biggest issue was lack of refridgerator space. Larger groups should bring a cooler or two. We are hoping to revisit in the fall - the views from the balconies were beautiful and the sound of the river is very peaceful.
