We have stayed at this condo for a few years and it just gets better every year. This year the owner added the use of bicycles. With the bike paths on the island it is easy to take as short or as long a ride as you would like. We incorporated at least one short afternom ride into our daily activities. We rode to the lighthouse once and to Grandma Dot's for lunch another day. It's a great way to get exercise and or to leisurely cool off. The beach or the pool are only steps away and very convenient. We definitely plan a return to this inviting condo.

We stayed two weeks at Loggerhead just returning home on March 13, 2011. What a wonderful condo. The lay out of the condo was perfect for my husband and I and 2 college age daughers. We have always stayed ocean front in the past years but we enjoyed this location just as much. You overlook the pool and you have a perfect view of the ocean. There are chairs in the condo to take to the ocean. Loggerhead has shuffleboard, tennis courts and grills. there are so many restaurants in Sanibel but it was also very nice to have grills so we did not have to go out every night. Jim and Jean were very nice to work with. Jim called while we were there to make we were enjoying our stay and that we had everything we needed. The owners provided bikes to ride while we were there. This was a plus. We loved biking the side roads of Sanibel. Thanks Jim and Jean for sharing your lovely condo so that others may enjoy Sanibel.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Loggerhead #213. The condo is tastefully furnished, freshly painted and very attractive. The mirrored walls open the interior space and make the living/dining room seem very large. The unit is situated to receive the morning sun and has a quite expansive view of the Gulf from the lanai and the living room. The two flat screen TVs are high quality, and the cable options are extensive. Waterstone Realty offers free DVDs with the rental. The owners interior photos are accurate, and the owners are very responsive and accessible. The Loggerhead Cay condo complex is on the beach yet convenient to shopping options and many restaurants. The Dunes golf course is 5 minutes away and very challenging in that all the fairways are lined by water. With the Ding Darling wildlife refuge just down the road on Tarpon Bay, the array of bird species on and around the golf course is remarkable. The refuge rents kayaks and offers nature tours by kayak or tour boat; on the sunset boat tour we saw up close dolphins, great egrets, great blue herons, osprey, storks and the white pelicans. I never knew white pelicans had a 9 foot wingspan and summered in Minnesota and Canada. Sanibel is a magical place, and we will return next year and enjoy it from this condo.
Owner response:Tim and Mimi were Great guests. We are fortunate to have had excellent guests during the 7 years we have offered our condo to renters on VRBO with the one exception of problem guests during the Christmas Holidays, 2010. We work hard at providing the very best stay possible for our many excellent guests and will continue to make improvements to the unit..

The unit is a charming well maintained condo with everything we needed for what was a great sunny week on the Island. There were beach chairs and beach toys for our 2 boys and plenty of beach towels. We highly recommend this unit especially for families like ours.

This condo is described as "newly decorated" and "The Condo has recently been updated to Luxury status". Are you kidding?! Furniture coming apart, not very clean, carpeting well past its useful life and ceiling fans that wobble dangerously. This was just part of our experience in December 2010 in this condo unit.
Owner response:We are Jim and Jean Way from Chanhassen, Mn. We take a good deal of pride in trying to provide the Best experience possible to our guests during their stay at our vacation condos. The comments of the guest durring the Christmas Holidays points out that you cannot always please everyone. We contacted the guests durring their stay over the Christmas Holidays and they told us they were having a Great time and expressed No negitive comments. We were in our Loggerhead Cay condo for 2 weeks following the Christmas Holidays. We corrected minnor problems and added the following improvements to the condo. 1. New carpet in the living room and master bedroom. 2. New Front load washer and dryer. New cabinets over the washer/dryer. 3. Painted all trim and doors. 4. Some New living room furniture. 5. New lamps and ceiling lighting fixtures. Within the next 6 months we will be remolding the Kitchen. We will have New cabinets, Appliances and floor tile. We have a very good rental management company that does a Great job getting our unit ready for our guests. This includes a through cleaning and providing extra linen and Beach towels. We have quality bikes available to our guests Free of charge. Please come and stay at our Sanibel Island condo. We will do everything possible to make it a Great stay. Thank you very much, Jim and Jean Way

We have stayed in this unit twice in the last year and are headed back later in 2011. it has everything we were looking for and more. Starting with the great view of the Ocean and all the conveniences you need for a week or longer stay. It is great to come home from a day on the beautiful beach and be able to just throw your clothes in the laundry so they are ready for the next days adventure. The unit has exceeded our expectations. It is always clean and well maintained. And you can feel the attention to detail the owners have put into creating a comfortable home away from home for their guests. Sanibel Island is a great place to get away from all the business of life yet has everything you need for your vacation. There are great restaurants on the Island and they are not chains but rather unique special eating experiences. The residents of Sanibel have committed themselves to preserving the natural beauty of the Island and it makes for a great stay. We would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a great vacation.

My husband and I stayed at this Loggerhead Cay Condo on Sanibel Island April 14 – April 17. We were engaged and were planning on having a small private wedding soon. When the opportunity came open to stay at the condo on Sanibel, we looked into having a private Oceanside wedding on the island. Everything fell into place and we were married on Lighthouse Beach on April 15. The condo was a wonderful place to have our honeymoon. The beach was easily accessible and had an abundance of shells and sealife. We even saw Manta Rays that swam within feet of us as we walked the shoreline. The condo was bright, airy and clean and had plenty of furniture. We preferred to eat on the enclosed patio that had sliding glass doors to let the breeze in and which provided a beautiful view of the shore and courtyard. The kitchen and linens were well stocked with everything we would need during our stay. We highly recommend renting this condo for your next island vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back for a longer stay. Eric & Heather

We stayed (myself, my wife, and our three girls ages 6, 3.5, and 2) at this wonderful condo the week of December 5th - 12th, 2009. What an outstanding place for a family vacation!! The condo was perfect for us! An ideal set-up with a seperate bedroom and bathroom for the kids, a living area with more than enough room, and a full kitchen for meals when we didn't go out to eat. The complex even had two community grills that were in excellent condition! The condo decor was very nice, and the unit had everything we could possibly have needed. The pool was within reasonable voice distance from the screened lanai, and the beach was only a hundred yards or so from the unit, which was ideal when some of the kids needed a nap and others did not. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Sanibel itself was great! Plenty of beaches, each with its own interesting characteristics. The J.N Ding Darling Reserve was a hit with the up close wildlife, and there were tons of neat shops and restaurants that we enjoyed. And having the Jerry's grocery store only a mile or so away came in handy more than once! We absolutely loved Sanibel as a family destination vacation spot and would stay in this Unit again. It couldn't have been a better fit for us. Thank you!! Brian

Nov. 18 - Nov. 27, 2009. I was referred to this condo by one of the staff at RentExpert and initially wondered how this was going to be. My communications were with the owner Jim Way. He was great to work with and accommodated my dates which were not a Sat. to Sat. rental as is the norm with many owners in the area. I stayed at the condo with my 2 sons, 21 & 17 for 9 nights. The Loggerhead Cay complex was built in the mid 1970's. The grounds, pool area, tennis courts, etc. are VERY well maintained. The owners, Jim & Jean, have made regular upgrades and have completed some remodeling of their unit. We were very comfortable there with plenty of room, loved the location, view, and our beach & pool time. Just 2 miles away is a good full-service grocery store and deli, 'Jerry's', that took care of all of our needs as well as movie rentals from Redbox for only $1 per movie. A real bargain and worked nicely in the evenings after our days spent outdoors, along with the HD TV's and DVD's players the condo is equipped with. We enjoyed many activities - The Sanibel "Thriller" is a must if you love dolphins and your guide offers a nice history lesson of both Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Renting bikes and kayaks was fun, inexpensive, entertainment. J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge offers great wildlife viewing and we preferred biking through it rather than driving. (It's closed on Friday's) Kayaking through the mangroves (birds galore!) and with the Manatees in Tarpon Bay was a true delight. We cooked several tasty meals at the condo, my only complaint during our entire stay was only a single cooking spoon. I kept forgetting to pick up a set of wooden spoons but we did make do with one. Restaurants: Our first meal was a late lunch at Gramma Dot's, located at the Marina and very casual. The Grouper sandwich was delicious! Our splurges were 'The Mad Hatter' - did not disappoint! And, we had Thanksgiving dinner at the Thistle Lodge, the view and the buffet were both truly gorgeous. Our time at Loggerhead Cay flew by, we were sad to leave. Looking at the more than 100 photos I took warms me up a bit now that I'm back in Seattle. I would highly recommend Jim & Jean's unit. Not only it is budget friendly and WAY better than any hotel room, Jim was always quick to respond and never tired of my questions. I shopped around with several owners at the complex...Jim was the best. It was a great referral from RentExpert! Cindy Imeson Seattle,

My wife an I stayed in this very nice two bedroom, 3rd floor condo from 4/4/09-4/11/09. The place was outstanding for our 3 boys ages 1 to 6 with easy access to the pool and the beach. My oldest will talk about the starfish, urchins, skate egg cases and lightning whelks that he found beachcombing for years to come. The home was clean and very well appointed. We will likely look into a return visit sometime next year.
