Steamboat Springs, better known as Ski Town, USA, is located on the west slope of the Rockies where the powder snow in the winter is legend. This Condo is only a few steps down to the Christie Lifts and a very short ski run down to the Silver Bullet Gondola. It is about a 2 minute walk to the Ski Time Square Village with its shops, restaurants, movie theater, night life and apres ski relaxation.
Located on the 5th floor, which is the level of the parking lot, it has 2 bedrooms on the first level with King beds in both. One has a connecting bathroom. The upper level has 2 bedrooms with a double in one, and 2 single beds in the other. There is also a 'day bed' on the loft. There is ample room on the upper level for the youngsters to throw down a sleeping bag and 'camp out'. Each lower level bedroom has a TV and there are phones in each lower bedroom as well as one on the loft. The bathroom off the kitchen serves one of the lower level bedrooms as well as the main living room/dining room area.
The condominium living area has a large screen TV, VCR & DVD players, plus a CD stereo player with AM/FM, and cassette capability. A big Rocky Mountain stone gas log fireplace gives off warmth that fills the living/dining room. The kitchen has all the utensils, cooking implements and tools you need to think you are right back home. The view from the main living room and balcony takes in the entire Yampa Valley and the village at Ski Time Square.
To reach the ski slopes you walk down a couple of sets of steps and walk over to the base of the Christie Lifts The first day it is an easy ski down from the base of the Christie Lifts to the Gondola Building to purchase your ski lift tickets. Once you have purchased your tickets you may choose to ride up the hill each day on either the Christie Lifts, which are right below the condo, or ski on down to ride the Silver Bullet Gondola.
After a day of skiing, you ski right up to the condo. On the 5th floor is a ski locker for all your skis and is accessible only to you with the condominium key.
Steamboat has an excellent lift and trail system which is rated as 54% intermediate level and the kid’s ski school and programs are famous for their quality. If you’d like to take a day or so off from skiing, there are many activities nearby or on the mountain to keep you busy. Cross country skiing, sleigh ride dinners, snowmobiling, sledding/tubing, dog sled rides, snowshoeing, and
hot air ballooning are just some of the activities available.
Summer in the Rockies can best be described in one word; fabulous. Right outside your door are a multitude of things to do. You can go mountain biking, river rafting or tubing, white water kayaking, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, fishing, hunting, swimming, miniature golfing, llama trekking, and hot air ballooning.
For the golfers there are three courses very close by. There’s a fitness center/gym for those on an exercise program, and the Steamboat Rodeo goes full blast during July and August. Top name musical performers, from string quartets, to jazz, to folk, to bluegrass, appear at the Strings on the Mountain during the summer months.
Payment Policy: At time of reservation, two nights lodging deposit is required to hold reservation. Full payment is due 45 days prior to arrival.
Cancellation: Cancellation more than 45 days before arrival is subject to an administrative charge of $50. No refunds 45 days or less prior to your arrival date. No refunds for late arrivals or early departures.
Restrictions: No Smoking and No Pets. There are excellent pet boarding facilities in the area.
Housekeeping: The condominium is professionally cleaned and inspected before each guest arrives. Additional services like mid-stay towel change can be arranged for an additional fee.

Great condo for the price. Best described as a ski in/short walk out. The kitchen is adequate and there is plenty of pantry space for all the groceries to feed our three growing boys for a week. Lots of room upstairs for a lot of kids. We travel a lot and we would recommend.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers.

Although the price was ok, we got what we paid for. The unit was clean and the location was what we expected. But, the furnishings and accessories were spare, dated and in need of being updated. The kitchen counters were filled with oversized stuff, which left very little counter space. The cupboards were so full of mismatched things, that there was no place to store food - except for on the counter. For such a large place, I don't know why ther was only one garbage container for the entire first floor.
