Calling all aspiring architects and dreamers young and old! Bring your drafts to build to your own custom sand castle with one of the most tranquil views as a back drop. Conjure up sand castle visions and caviar dreams. This is after all "Robins Nest."
Spend your time swimming, surfing, kayaking, deep-sea fishing, beachcombing, golfing, and sightseeing. Learn about endangered species. Loggerhead sea turtles and other rare species nest along this sandy shore. Comb the beach for sea stars, keyhole urchins, and whelk shells. Or, simply sit back on one of the private decks and watch the dolphins play, the brown pelicans fish, and enjoy the aerial acrobatics of seagulls and terns as they ride the gentle sea breeze off the Atlantic. Choose to do as much or as little as you want.
We would love to host you and your party in our own private oceanfront retreat built for pure unadulterated relaxation. Robins Nest proudly features wide-open spaces, soaring ceilings, and walls of angled windows that afford 180-degree panoramic views of the Atlantic. With four bedrooms and a loft we can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people. Our gorgeous, post-and-beam inspired home has every creature comfort to make your trip a memorable one to include luxurious linens and high-speed DSL for your convenience.
On the Main Level:
* A quiet sitting area/foyer.
* A large gourmet kitchen with butler's pantry, with everything you need to prepare scrumptious meals. We even include a bread machine and ice cream machine to concoct your own Kure Beach creations.
* A dining/breakfast nook overlooking the ocean.
* A media room boasting gorgeous ocean views in all directions with state of the art electronics.
* A spacious "children's suite" with two twin beds; and VCR/DVD, PlayStation2, PlayStation gaming unit, and a walk-in closet and a huge en suite full bath. This bedroom opens to a west facing deck.
* Utility room with the high efficiency laundry pair.
* Hall powder room/bathroom.
On the Loft Level:
* A large open loft area equipped with a game area that has a double futon and yet another private deck with gorgeous panoramic views. Take your morning coffee, newspaper, and pastries outside to this deck to enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves and the smell of the salt air.
* Large master suite featuring magnificent views to welcome you to a new day. This bedroom has a queen-size bed, walk-in closet, TV/VCR combination, and a huge deluxe en suite with that features a large Jacuzzi, to soak away any troubles in the world, walk-in shower, and ambiance lighting.
* Another full bathroom with ambiance lighting.
* Third west-facing bedroom with two sets of bunks with double/twin combination (sleeps six).
* Fourth west-facing bedroom with another queen-size bed facing west.
The Expansive Decks have integrated into their construction:
* Two separate outside shower areas one with a nightlight for late night dips in the ocean, a gas barbecue landing, and a separate fish cleaning area.
* Unique to ONLY this property is an observation deck at the very end of the deck before heading down to the beach. This area is conveniently equipped with Adirondack chairs to take full advantage of the sunset with whatever libation you choose to toast the view in style without violating any ordinances of Kure Beach.
* There is enough space to park a total of four cars.
Our retreat is also unique in that, we are one of a few areas where the turtles come to nest just off the shoreline in the dunes in front of our home. Volunteers monitor identified nesting sections stand guard over them during two months of turtle egg incubation. When the two-inch-long baby turtles emerge from the nest and head down the beach to the sea, excited "nest parents" are there to clear a path and make sure no predator will eat them before they reach the water. At hatching time, lights all along the beach are dimmed or extinguished so as not to confuse the journey of the baby turtles. It is quite an event, and a wonderful rare experience for families to participate in. Sit quietly and watch nature take its marvelous course.

This was our 3rd year. Every year it's gets better and better. Our family absolutely loves Robin's Nest. So close to the beach, everything you need in the house to make everyone comfortable and at home. The I would recommend this beautiful house to anyone who is looking for a laid back vacation, so wonderful, can't say enough about it, Thank You!! :)

My family and I just returned from a week at Robin's Nest. Not only is the home beautiful and comfortable, it is the most well equipped rental of 30 plus years of vacation rentals. The entire rental experience was a pleasure. Unless our family outgrows Robin's Nest, we will be back!

I was invited to stay here over the labor day weekend which I am so glad I took advantage of. Between your beautiful home and the amazing beach a school teacher could not ask for a better get away. My labor day weekend usually consists of fighting traffic, waiting on a parking spot and paying LOTS of quarters to go to Wrightsville Beach for a few hours....then getting into my smouldering hot car and fighting MORE traffic to get home. :( Luckily (thanks to you) this was the best labor day weekend I have ever had! :) My aunt invited me to come lay on the beach and spend the day in your amazing home. It was a peaceful week before going back to a week of teaching high school students. I am eternally grateful. All week at school I will be wishing it was labor day again and I was back at "Robin's Nest". THANK-YOU SO MUCH!

We enjoyed our stay at your house. We loved how close the beach was to the house and the scenery off the deck was breathe taking. My bed (the top bunk)was very comfortable and the books in the closet made a great bedtime story. I saw alot of wildlife (a pelican, crabs, etc...)which really spiked my interests. Returning is a MUST as I loved it here. I am sad I am leaving.

We had a BLAST here! The house was so close to the beach. From swimming in the ocean to burying our legs in sand it was all too fun! And the rooms were all so big. (Especially our room- the one on the main level.)
