My sisters and I looked long and hard for this elegant, spacious (1150 sq. feet) gem in the best part of Paris, and we were overjoyed when we found it. Our stone courtyard building is beautiful and secure, and located on a quiet shopping street, steps from the famous Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots. On your doorstep are Prada, Yves St. Laurent, Bruno Magli, and other premium boutiques, not to mention one of the best bakeries in Paris.
The elevator, handy for luggage as the apartment is 1 flight up, is charmingly old world. You will love the apartment's parquet floors, crown mouldings, high ceilings, marble, gilt, and lush designer fabrics. In addition to the 2 double bedrooms, the cozy, round library provides a comfortable and private sleeping space with a cleverly designed day bed that transforms effortlessly into a double bed.
The apartment was painstakingly renovated and then decorated in a comfortable, but classic French style. Original paintings adorn the walls. We have several pieces of antique furniture from the famous Parisian flea market, the Marché aux Puces. The wrought iron, four-poster bed in the Master bedroom was specially designed for us, as was the stained glass, and several other of the apartment's finer details.
Both bedrooms are lovely and spacious, and each contains a marble fireplace and a large gilded mirror. The freshly remodeled kitchen is fully-equipped, modern and functional, with a tumbled marble floor, custom-designed cabinetry, and Venetian glass fixtures. |
