We spent a week at Lakewood Lodge in June - two families with 7 kids age 8 and under. It was a fantastic place for our group! Plenty of space inside and tons of space outside. With a playset, lots of sand toys, a paddle boat and canoe, our kids were happy and entertained the entire week. The lake is relatively small, but very nice. The kids caught lots of fish, which was high on the checklist for our vacation. I was concerned we might feel crowded inside with our group, but it really was a perfect fit. The only real downside was the lack of access to a washer and dryer onsite (bummer with 7 kids!) - but we knew ahead of time and just packed more than we otherwise would have. Thank you Lynne and family for sharing your lake home with us. We highly recommend.

We had a blast at the beach! Kids were on the swingset everyday!! Took a trip to the Old Mission Lighthouse Park, it was awesome. Walked trails, walked the beach, great scenery! We got the paddleboat out, took in alittle water, nothing major, the kids and adults loved it! Ate at Rico's-highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our time here. The outdoor area is great. It has everything we wanted, boat and paddleboats. The lake is really lovely and quite large. Lots of places to sit outside. Bonfire setup was great. The house definitely has a log cabin feel which we loved. The rooms are very nice. We felt very much at home here and will defintely stay here agin.

My family had a great time at the cottage. The cottage itself is very clean and well kept. It was very peaceful sitting out by the lake in the morning listening to the loons. The kids had a great time swimming in the lake and making smores at night around the firepit. We would definitely come back again!

Spent a week there and and although the weather did not cooperate we still managed to have a great time. The house was clean and comfortable with everything you need. The lake was great and whether it was the deck and dock near the water, the fire pit and hammock or the large deck and grill near the house, there are many ways to enjoy the setting of this great property. Also a short drive to Traverse City or Sleeping Bear Dunes.

We rented the lodge just for a weekend to see if it would meet our family's needs for a weeklong family vacation. It was perfect! The lodge, lake and property were beautiful! Our only dissapointment(very minor) was the pontoon boat out of commission. Our son and his wife thought it would be awesome to go fishing with the other brothers and their wives!

The Lakewood Lodge was everything that was advertised, and much more. The stone fireplace (plenty of wood) was so cozy and warm when we'd come inside from walks and on returning from skiing at Crystal Mountain, which was only about 20 minutes away. We enjoyed cooking in the well-appointed kitchen, with new appliances, grantite counters and everything we needed to make our meals. We got lazy Saturday evening and had dinner at the Karlin Inn, a true "up north" restaurant with fantastic food, and only a couple miles or so away. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, and everyone was very comfortable. Inside and out, it was a perfect winter weekend.

Great vacation home for a family or group. My family has had many memorable vacations and trips at the lodge. The lodge is warm, cozy and meetings every need. Very clean and neat inside and out. There is a beautiful bonfire pit to roast marshmallows at night and tell family stories or play games. There is a swing set for the children. It is located on an all sports lake – gotta love that. Great location, great view, and great deal! Strongly recommend to anyone for every occasion. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Lakewood Lodge was everything we had hoped for; clean as a whistle with all the comforts of home. We loved the quiet mornings as we sipped coffee and read down at the dock before the kids woke-up. Most evenings we grilled and sipped our wine till sunset listening to the loons and enjoyng the beauty of Bass Lake. The location was terrific; just a short drive into Traverse City for shopping and dining. Also, the perfect location for day trips to Lake Michigan and exploring the treasues of northern Michigan. We had a fabulous week and plan to return this summer with another couple and their kids...there's plenty of room and lots for the kids to do. We can't wait for summer to come so we can return to "The Lodge"!

My husband and I stayed at the cabin in mid-July with our 2 kids (2 and 4 years). This home is exactly as described. It is well taken care of and the owners have taken the time to make you feel at home. We were pleased with the updates to the cabin since our last visit and overall it is a beautiful area. My husband used the rowboat to go fishing every day, the addition of the kids swings and play area was very nice. The lake is peaceful and we loved sitting out on the deck in the evenings. We hope to return soon.

Lakewood Lodge is the perfect place to get away from the everyday stresses and truly relax. It is located on a pristine lake where you will enjoy everything from water skiing to sitting in your lounge chair on the dock. The owners have taken great pride in making sure that all the comforts of home are here for an enjoyable stay. The lodge is spacious, clean, and comfortable. It is located near restaurants and shopping areas if you feel the need to leave. We have stayed here twice and can't wait to go again. The Lodge is northern Michigan at it's finest. I highly recommend this wonderful place.

We recently spent a week at Lakewood Lodge and it was fantastic. There was plenty of room for the entire family, it was quiet and peaceful. A very short drive to the Interlochen Center For the Arts (less than ten minutes) and close enough to Traverse City for restaurants. We loved cooking our own meals in the very well appointed kitchen and just lounging around. We definitely will visit again soon. One of the best vacations I can remember having.
