  The Kuleana Condo was exactly as portrayed in the ad. Looked just like the pictures. It was clean and convenient and had great views of the ocean from the living room & kitchen area. Just steps to the beach. Would have been nice if the unit was on the 2nd or 3rd FL so that we could sleep with the sliding doors open, but that's all I'd change. Reeny, the owner, was excellent. She provided lots of useful information and was very quick responding to any questions we had. Would recommend this property highly.

  Just as the pictures show, this property is in a gorgeous setting and is just feet from the surf. We watched whales from our lanai and stepped out a couple of yards and saw turtles. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the pool is the best in the area. This unit was clean and has comfortable furniture, especially the bed and couch, and includes everything we needed for a great vacation. We would stay here again.

  Overall this condo is as advertised. My family of 4 decided to use VRBO for the first time as the cost was significantly cheaper than a traditional hotel. This was our first trip to HI. We started our trip in Oahu. We spent three days and that was plenty for that island. Was disappointed that rough seas prevented us from going to the USS Arizona. The USS Missouri was awesome. Diamond Head was also very cool. They have a farmers market on certain days that is worth the stop. For dinner Duke's was our favorite. Overall 2-3 nights is plenty in Oahu. Avoid the buses and use taxis. Similar price and much quicker. We then arrived at the condo. The view is simply breathtaking. The grounds are well kept. Capt Dave (concierge) was very helpful. The condo is small, yet much larger than the Hilton we stayed at in Oahu and significantly cheaper. The welcome packet that Reeny provided was also very helpful. I will say that the trip to Costco was awful. The place is a ZOO! We simply left and decided to pay a bit more for groceries at the local stores. We ate breakfast at the condo everyday & could have save a bunch had we properly planned purchases for eggs, yogurt, bagels, etc. However, we used the local farmer's markets to purchase fruit, bagels, etc (right down the road, every other day). I would much rather save on the hassle of Costo and put money in the local's hands. We alternated sleeping on the pull out coach. For a pull out it was fine. This place is more than comfortable for two adults and a 11 and 13 yo. Helpful tips: -Lahaina is awesome. -rent an underwater camera...use Boss Frogs. $50 for the week and they transfer all photos to a disk. -rent snorkeling gear from them too, by the week is $45. -Maui Dive shop has scuba like jackets. They help keep you warmer. $5 per day or $40 fro week. -avoid fishing charters....we search & search. Ended with a co named Strike Zone. It sucked...16 of us caught 5 or so...1 fish was a true keeper. Locals then said that fishing is awful and only slightly better in the summer. -Great snorkeling at Black Rock and Honokeana Bay. Black Rock is a great beach. You need to park at the Sheraton. Hono Bay is simply a place to snorkel. You need to park on the road just past Napli Point Condos. Everyone does it. Suggestions for Reeny....TV in Bedroom, upgrade the snorkle gear. Other than that thanks for a great vacation! We would absolutely come back!

  My husband and I had a wonderful time at Reeny's place. It was very well equipped with basic spices, salad dressings and condiments. I love to cook and the condo had everything I needed to make several tasty meals. The BBQ's are wonderful and kept very clean. Reeny was the most prompt owner that I have had the pleasure of working with at Kuleana. She returned my emails and sent out receipts right away. If you haven't stayed at Kuleana before it is a must. Especially this unit. It's on the ground floor. Just a few steps from the water. My husband and I loved sitting out by the water watching the sea turtles while having our coffee in the morning. The grounds are very well kept, with beautiful foliage. There are coconut palms, royal palms, banana palms, banana tree's, hibiscus (everywhere), bird of paradise, etc. The pool is nice. Didn't use it much due to the gorgeous reef right out front. You can surf, snorkel, scuba, boogy board, what ever you want right there at the condo. Enjoy! Aloha!

  Condo #607 is a perfect location for wandering out to the beach or the pool. We loved being on the ground floor. The grounds are beautiful and the beaches on the property are convenient and very inviting. Our biggest decision was to go to the beach or the pool first! The Kuleana is close to wonderful snorkeling beaches and good restaurants.The condo is perfect for two people - the owner did a great decorating job and the kitchen and bath were stocked with everything we might need to make vacation life easier! If you're looking for a cozy, relaxing spot, ask for #607.

  The condo was exactly as described. It was clean and the Kuleana property was beautifully landscaped. We stayed at Westin Ocean Resort Villas before moving over moving a couple miles north to stay at this condo. We have also stayed at the Royal Lahaina in the past. We felt this property was a superior value to staying at the hi end resorts in Kannapalli beach area in every aspect. The condo was right on the ocean and had a private beach. No wandering hallways and riding elevators endlessly to get to the beach or to your car. Our vehicle was only 20 seconds away. No worrying about valet parking and tipping every other employee to just get towels or a drink. We even had to rent beach chairs at the resort. In contrast everything we needed was provided for at the condo with no waiting or tipping! This made for a more relaxing experience and one in which we felt were in more control. The lanai was very private and had a postcard view of the ocean and outlining Islands. Occasionally other residents would walk between us in the lanai and the ocean, but everyone seemed to respect each others privacy and focused their attention on the beach and the ocean. As noted by others the condo is small, but functional and well maintained. I would not recommend more than two people unless you are all easy going types and get along very well. The pool was a nice surprise as it was Olympic size and up to 8 feet deep at the deep end. Even though the hi priced resorts have beautiful large pools they seem to all be no deeper than 3 or 4 feet. Because of the pool depth, I enjoyed this pool better even though one cannot see the ocean from the pool. The location had easy access from the highway and had numerous small shopping centers located within minutes. Other great snorkel and swimming beaches were minutes away, also within walking distance. We would definitely recommend this unit and hope to return in the future.

  My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week at the end of September. It was the first time either of us had travelled to Maui, and it was just about everything we wanted it to be. The complex is very conveniently located and quiet. Maybe it was the time of year, but the beach outside of the unit was never crowded. The little review book with many local restaurants rated by quality and price was a big help. The unit had everything we needed for the week (including internet which was a super convenient). I would easily stay here again for our next trip to Maui.

  This was my first vacation rental and it has set the bar very high for future vacation rentals. This place has the best views. You are one minute away from the beach when you are standing on the lanai. It was clean and quiet. If you open the back door and the patio door, the breeze just goes right through! There is a closet full of snorkel gear. Use it to see all the turtles that swim right up to shore! I highly recommend Kuleana 607. If you have any issues, the owner responds quickly. We went on our honeymoon here and it was perfect for the two of us. We used the BBQ to make meals, which is only a short walking distance.

  Photos of this rental accurately depicted both the interior of the unit and proximity to the ocean. The location is close to the touristy stuff in Lahaina, a good spot for first-timers in Maui, and the condo complex is small enough so that the beach outside the backdoor was never crowded at all. The bathroom was utilitarian, but again, accurately shown in photos. Unit was clean and well maintained. The welcome package provided thorough directions to the unit, with excellent food and activity recommendations (and a secret spot for swimming with turtles!). Boogie boards, beach chairs, and snorkeling gear for two all rounded out this excellent accommodation at the beach - you'd enjoy Maui even if you never left the building.
