Aloha and Welcome to the "House of Sweet Dreams." If you were able to pronounce the name of our vacation rental let us Congratulate you on your first Hawaiian language lesson.

Our quaint and cozy, large, one bedroom, Apartment unit is located half a block from world famous Kailua Beach. Kailua meaning "two seas" is located on the southeastern shore on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.

Come and take a tour with us:
Imagine starting your day with a complimentary cup of fresh brewed Kona Coffee and a sunrise walk on the three mile stretch of pristine white sand beach. With its gentle trade winds and constant water temperatures ranging from 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit (20-25 degrees Celsius), Kailua Beach is a perfect setting for year round water-sports. Some of the activities you may partake in include: swimming, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, body surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, etc.

There are other water activities nearby including: scuba diving, deep sea fishing, glass bottom boat rides, jet skiing, para-sailing, submarine voyage, etc.

Our "Hawaiiana" decor gives you the true island feeling of "home away from home." Palm trees, antique rattan furniture, "ukulele" paper towel holder, and kitchen "ukulele" dish towel rack are some of the unique accents of our unit that are found in no other part of the world. Along with the Bamboo towel bars in the bathroom this unit gives you a tropical feeling of truly being in the Pacific.

After a full day of water activities come back, crank up that Air Conditioning unit to prepare your surroundings for some much needed "snooze" time. Embellish in a hot shower with complimentary "local" island fragranced shower gels and lotions. It's time to take some "R&R" (rest and relaxation). ** BAMM ** REVITALIZATION HAS OCCURRED!!!

By this time you have worked up quite an appetite. Kailua town offers quite a variety of restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining. Some of our favorites include: Los Garcias Mexican, Assagio's Italian, Buzz's Steakhouse, Champa Thai, Noboru Japanese, Big City Diner, Cinnamon's family, etc. There are also the regular fast food restaurants available including: McDonald's, Taco Bell, Jack-in-the Box, Papa John's Pizza, etc.

Another alternative might be to put your favorite foods on the Barbecue Gas Grill and dine on the Patio Lanai. However, and yet still another alternative might be to enjoy a full blown "night on the town." The Famous "Waikiki" is a mere 30 minute drive into Honolulu. A more extensive list of restaurants is available and after dinner you may find a wide variety of music for your listening pleasure or visit some of the local nightclubs and enjoy dancing the night away until 4 AM.

You might not be a water enthusiast - there are various other activities to enjoy - including: golf, hiking, art or historic museums, sight seeing, Pearl Harbor Memorial, shopping, bicycling, Sea Life Park, Waikiki Aquarium, live theater, movies, sky diving, glider rides, etc.

  • Aloha Kathy and Val!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay for our first visit to our former and future home. You made it feel very ohana with all of the local Hawaiian touches. The beach toys and inflatable boat for Claire were a great start...along with the cookies. The red wagon was great for short trip to beach across street. Everything was as advertised. And where else can you find someone to do laundry...thanks Val. Finally, much mahalo for returning the forgotten item after we left!! Hope to visit again when we return home...Brandon, Sarah & Claire

  • Aloha Kathy & Val! Thank you for such wonderful service. I wanted to let you know that your quick and friendly service made the difference when deciding which rental I wanted to go with. After our stay at your "House of Sweet Dreams" I realized I made the right choice. Kristy was impressed with the accomodations and the value of the unit and she liked the small touches here and there. Coming from a 'local' it was nice to get away. It was great to take Kristy around Kailua near Kailua and Lanikai Beaches (one of the best beaches in the nation!) and to one of my favorite spot at Lanikai Bunkers Hike.   • We recently held a family gathering where I was responsible for booking 4 different cottage/units for various family members. The unit was very clean and provided a number of very nice amenities. However we were very disappointed in the size. The VRBO add indicates the unit is a "1 bedroom" unit when in fact it is only a studio unit. We booked this particular unit for a couple and their adult son thinking the son would have a floor futon available in the living room area and the couple a separate bedroom. The one room living/bedroom had just enough room to place the futon at the foot of the bed. Now that I have seen the unit the pictures on the website are clear, however it was not noticable to any of us before. The other 3 units we rented all had the number of "separate" bedrooms the adds claimed and the prices were about the same. The owners of this property should change their add and list it as a studio unit.

This is the 1st negative comment that we have received but am including it in our guest book because it is constructive criticism. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The pictures on our website are "EXACTLY" how the unit appears. We do consider our unit a 1 "BIG" bedroom. A studio is considered to be where the bedroom and kitchen area are contained in 1 room -- our unit is separarated by a doorway. Thanks again for your comments. Aloha, Kathy and Val

    Kathy & Val, If paradise was lost, we found it here at the "House of Sweet Dreams". It was truly paradise to awaken with the sunrise and trade winds blowing away the clouds. We also enjoyed drinks and pupus at the Hanohano Room at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. Also drinks and dinner at Cinnamon's. Most of all the Hawaiian Luau. You both are so thoughtful and generous. Mahalo with Love, Barbara As always our stay here was extra special... sharing the 1st birthday luau of your friends baby boy, breakfasts at Cinnamon's ... the list goes on and on. Kathy and Val you make everything so special. I pray that the "House of Sweet Dreams" lasts forever and that I will be able to enjoy it once more.
