  This large two bedroom condo with great wraparound balconies is definitely worth staying in. Just steps to the very quiet pool and gym. Short walk to the JW Marriott and the beach. Absolutley beautiful quiet location. Hacienda Pinilla is a very large gated community and to acces this unit you have to go through a second gate. Very safe, very clean and very relaxing. Very well decorated and very comfortable feeling from the time you walk into this condo. Went with a friend for a wedding so we did have to spend some time downtown and that is about a 15 minute drive. This condo is perfect for two couples or a family and has everything you need. I wish I had more time there.

  Our little group was comprised on 2 couples (50s-60s) from the US. We found this villa to be very comfortable and it accommodated our needs nicely. The photos of the unit are accurate, but don't do it justice. It was very clean, well stocked and well maintained. The Palma Real villas being a gated community, within the also gated Hacienda Pinilla property, made everything feel very safe and both gates are staffed with security personnel at all times. The pool for the villas is only steps away from this unit's patio and it almost felt like a private pool because there was hardly ever anyone else in it. Watching the sun set at Playa Bonita (5 minute walk) was spectacular. The proximity to the JW Marriott is very handy for their restaurants, and all the activity tours that we booked arranged to pick us up there. The Beach Club is 5 minutes away and is very beautiful with its infinity pool and the restraurant had tasty light fare; the ladies enjoyed a massage there as well. All the information the villa owner provided about Costa Rica, Tamarindo restaurants and activities, etc. was right on the money. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a safe, spacious, relaxing home-away-from-home during your vacation.

  My friends and I had a great time at your place. The location is perfect right in front of the pool. The house is perfectly set with everything you need (from sun hats to sunblock), and is also really clean, you can tell the owners really work to have a comfortable and nice space for their customers. I will only say we were confused about the convertible bed but besides that everything went perfect.

  This was the perfect location to experience all that Costa Rica has to offer. Close to the beach and the new Marriott Resort - and a quiet pool right outside the back door. Plenty to do within walking distance, but would recommend a car in order to experience all that nearby Tamarindo has to offer. However, you may decide not to leave the premises once you arrive. This condo is first rate!! Charming and comfortable.

  This villa delivers everything that's promised. A very secure environment in a double-gated community. The property and villa are exactly as photographed -- clean and well maintained. Spacious interior, full kitchen, A/C, outside sitting areas on two levels. 5-6 is probably max sleeping capacity if more than one couple/family. Minor maintenance issues that came up were addressed promptly. Never were able to get the plug-in Internet connection to work on our laptop but that may have been a security issue on the laptop. My son did get Internet access wirelessly on his iPod. Pool well maintained, good size, close by, and never crowded. Easy access to beautiful beach and gorgeous sunsets -- 5 min. walk. 2 restaurants on property (excl. those at JW Marriott Hotel), but need shuttle or own vehicle to get to them. Tamarindo 20 min. drive -- everything you could need (groceries, pharmacies, banks, restaurants, bars) is available there. Although a shuttle service is available on the Hacienda Pinilla property, strongly recommend having a rental vehicle if you're staying here -- things are quite spread out. Make sure you walk down the beach from the Beach Club along Playa Avellanas (20 min.) and visit Lola's for pizza and a cold drink. Have recommended this property to our family and friends.

  Stayed in the house in August 2008, loved it so much that I came back twice since. Perfect for families or groups large and small. The house has everything you could need: great kitchen, pool and living areas. But even better, the beach is a short walk away, and Tamarindo is a short drive. If you come, be sure to check out Lola's, a nearby restaurant located directly on the beach. You better book this house before I do!

  This place is amazing. Everything is so well-maintained and clean. The pool is in your backyard and you are a super quick walk to the beach. It is beautiful on the inside of the villa as are the grounds overall. The owners were so accommodating and easy to reach. The area is great. It is such a steal, given the price. You would be crazy not to go here.

  This house is amazing! It is gorgeous, spacious, and well furnished. It has great windows and beautiful views. The area around the house is also spectacular. The BACKYARD has a large, lovely, palm tree surrounded pool plus a small gym. The beach and a 5 star resort (with multiple restaurants) are literally minutes away. If you want to go into Tamarindo, there are shuttles that leave from the resort, or you can take a 20 minute cab ride. The property is cleaned weekly and the property managers are always available and helpful. I've stayed at this property twice and it has been a truly wonderful experience both times. I highly recommend staying here.

  The smell of coconuts and sea breeze waft through the air as I open my third, ice-cold Imperial. Barefoot, we walk the 20 yards to the crystal clear pool for a quick dip, then wander down past the 4 star resort (we have full access, naturally) to a secluded beach. The sun gets lazier and finally closes its eye for the evening, but not before a final wink - the mythical green flash I've only heard in rumors. "Is this Heaven?" My fiancee asks me? "No...it's Iowa." She looks at me like I'm an idiot, but I smile to myself...."I could've sworn this was Heaven."

  My husband and I stayed here for a week in September. Our entire experience was amazing. The villa is beautiful and spacious and had every amenity we could ask for. We loved exploring Hacienda Pinilla - there are plenty of great hikes around the property. We saw monkeys playing in the trees near our villa. We also enjoyed walks on the beach and body surfing in the ocean. There are several beaches within a 5 minute walk - Playa Bonita, which is somewhat rocky, is the perfect place to watch the sunset. Playa Mansita, and especially Playa Avellanas are sandy and great for surfing. There is a pool basically right in the backyard which we had mostly to ourselves. Or, if you prefer to be around more people and sip umbrella drinks by the pool, The Beach Club on Playa Avellanas, which is a short drive or walk away, is a gorgeous facility with a large infinity pool, a poolside bar, and restaurant. We also went into Tamarindo, which is about a 20 minute drive away, several times for dinner. The villa is also a short walk away from the JW Marriott, so you can go there for drinks or to use their facililities, but you can also cook in your own kitchen to save money. We would highly recommend staying in this condo!
