You'll enjoy sipping your favorite glass of wine or reading a book in front of the living room's inviting gas kiva fireplace with full banco. Brick floors and slightly vaulted ceiling, along with dining table and comfortable sofa and chairs, complete the living room's ambience.
The bedroom has a queen-sized plush mattress, dresser and closet with a shower bath just off the bedroom and a courtyard entrance. Old Town Guesthouse with Great Location!
Year Purchased: 1998
Why the Owner Chose Albuquerque
We moved a great deal and while Tempe, Arizona was our base we lived in Palo Alto, CA; Minneapolis, MN; Durango, CO; Greenville, SC; and Las Vegas, NV. As Tempe and Phoenix grew, so did the traffic, the air quality and all the things that go with big city growth. We looked for two years trying to find a rental location that would suit our lifestyle and fit our personalities. One day, while on a business trip to Albuquerque, Rob had completed a business meeting and was driving around when he saw a for sale sign being pounded into the ground. He stopped, greeted the owner, went inside, called Phyllis and the rest as they say is history! We love our property and want you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as we do everyday when we greet the day. Come stay with us and enjoy the very best of our town in old town...!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
La Perla is located in the heart of Old Town. We are close to parks, museums and great shopping. We are a block from the beautiful plaza which has restaurants, the finest authentic Native-American jewelry. We are on the main bus grid and you can be downtown with access to the new "Railrunner" in eight minutes. We have great local dining and great music venues in the summer. We are one mile from the Bio-Park and so much more. Park your car and walk, enjoy the great views, the great weather, and tne wonderful atmosphere of old town! (We do, everyday)
Wonderful park to exercise, walk the dogs, sit under a shade tree or watch the kids play.
History, One of the oldest Roman Catholic Churches in the United States and Autentic Native American Jewelry
Always Great Art, Jazz Concerts in Summer and a beautiful place just to sit and watch people
Owner's Map of Albuquerque
Rob Rispoli and Phyllis Harper-Rispoli are the happy and proud owners of La Perla
Casita. Having traveled a great deal ourselves, we know how importantP the little things can be: little thing like a washer and dryer, WIFI, cable TV and the modern conveniences that are a must in today's world. We also know that privacy and comfort our important. Phyllis, with years of experience in career development, has assisted numerous men and women on how to improve their careers or find new passions. Her experience with people and her dedication to their needs can be seen in the care and consideration she provides to each person that stays at La Perla. Rob has spent decades provide real estate services to families throughout the U.S. He still maintain a mortgage lending company but more often than not you will find him in the courtyard working on the flowers and pond that make the courtyard a quiet peaceful place to "hang out". As only the third owners in a hundred years our obligation is to watch over and manage this beautiful historic property for others to enjoy...Rob and Phyllis

La Perla can be your home away from home. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished in Southwestern style and the full kitchen is great for making your own meals. The casita is just steps away from Old Town Albuquerque and the wonderful festivals, museums, restaurants, and shops. The owners are very knowledgeable about attractions in Albuquerque and throughout the state. I have stayed there three times and each visit was excellent.
Owner response:Having guests return is the highest complement and makes this business a joy. Phyllis at La Perla

We spent a month at this charming casita in Old Town. The guest house is full of character, including a beautiful gas kiva fireplace, plus modern conveniences. Loved having our own washer and dryer and newer appliances. Another bonus is the off street parking. The location is great: just a block away from Old Town Plaza, the museums, and a good sized park. Hosts, Phyllis & Rob, are delightful. We couldn't be happier with the value and experience of La Perla. Highly recommended!

I was fortunate to stay at La Perla for a month this summer while taking classes at UNM. It was the best home base I could have imagined, with excellent hosts Phyllis and Rob willing and eager to answer questions, offer suggestions, introduce me to public transportation, etc. I especially enjoyed down time walking through Old Town and taking in the live music, dancing, festivals and excellent dining. I can't wait to return!

La Perla, a casita of peace and joy. It has been a wonderful week of reliving treasured memories of December, 2004 and creating new memories to enjoy in the future. Thank you sharing Aspen, a definite asset to La Perla! We look forward to our next visit.

Wonderful time here in spite of cold and wind. We were able to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio on our last evening. It's great to have found a home away from home when we visit family in Abq.

What a charming place!--southwest spirit, cozy and private. We felt pampered with the fluffy towels, the romantic kiva fireplace and the loving on-site guard dog "Aspen." Old Town is only steps away---just enough to walk off a little of that amazingly yummy Mew Mexican fare. Thanks for your warm hospitality! We'll be back."
