We stayed at this place for two weeks, 4 adults and one child (3 year old). The location is super quiet and gives you access to some of the nicest beaches we have seen in Oahu (Just across from the YMCA camp, where you can see 5-8 turtles at the time). Relatively close to civilization, but far enough that the only thing you hear at night is the ocean beating against the wall in front of the master bedroom. The house has an open concept, very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. It could use a better BBQ, but I am being picky. Definitely will visit again while in Oahu.

The house was just as promised. The ocean view was wonderful and the house was beautiful. All of our interactions with the owner and manager were good and they were very attentive. The house had everything we could have thought of and more. We would recommend this house for anyone wanting to stay on the North Shore. We hope to return someday!

A wonderful house right on the water! We went in December and the surf was high which made for some “noisy” (in a good way) nights with the waves hitting the sea wall. It was amazing to see and hear! It was wonderful to sleep with the master bedroom door open and hear the ocean. The location of the house put us in a great location for driving to the Bonzai Pipeline to see the Billabong Pipe Masters surf competition. The house was clean and well stocked with the basics (oil, flour, sugar, lots of spices, and many condiments) and much more (beach toys, cooler, beach towels, CD’s with Hawaiian music, guide books) The pictures accurately depict the house, but during our 4 nights there was no beach at the house likely due to high surf. There is a gate across the driveway so that the house is completely “fenced in” which is nice if you have younger children. Huge bin of VHS tapes which our kids loved. Amazing LONG beach just a short drive down the road. It was too rough to swim in while we were there, but it was fine to play on and I’m sure it is amazing during calmer months. If you’re a Lost fan, you’re in the heart of where much of it was filmed. I would recommend this house.

Because I have family on the North shore, I visit often and have always booked through VRBO. This particular listing is what I have searched for every time.... but never found. The location is smack on the water so the intensity of the waves breaking is music to my ears. Beacause it has a sea wall, there is a perimeter of privacy and safety so at night you can chose to leave all the doors open with confidence. It is very easy to get to the sandy beach as it is a few short yards away from the spacious backyard that has a user-freindly BBQ. The home itself is well laid out and beautifully and tastefully furnished and very clean. All the equipment from the blender in the kitchen to the big screen TV and split air conditioners are top notch and great quality. The appliances are newer, the beds plush and soft, and the overall ambience is peaceful and Zen-like. Then owners were extremely helpful and cooperated in assisting me to extend my time here to add on a few more days (who could leave??) .The home is centrally located to all. I will plan to book another stay here as it really felt like home!

My family (husband, adult son, toddler daughter and my parents) stayed at the beach house from September 16-20th, 2011 (we had stayed there previously in Sept 2009). My husband, dad and son had a great time fishing from right behind the house. The best catch was on the last day --- my dad caught a nice sized o'io :) My daughter also enjoyed playing in the sand in the backyard. Beach access was not very far away at all, and we were able to meet other family members for some nice beach time over that weekend. Very pleased overall with our stay.
Owner response:T. Family, Mahalo for you review and for choosing "Mokuleia on the Water" for your "staycation" We love REPEAT GUESTS !!! Aloha~

My husband, 4 kids and I just spent a week at Debbie and John's fantastic house and I have nothing but great things to report. Debbie and John extended so much aloha spirit and that helped make a memroable vacay. The kids were delighted with the location to the water and the countless turtles that spent the day feeding right in front of the house. The location felt as if we were on our own island but we were only 10 minutes to Halewia where all the north shore action is. The house was just as it was listed and did not disappoint. The breeze that came in from the ocean everyday was wonderful and cooled the house perfectly. The north shore is our favorite spot on Oahu and I am so glad I found this rental as we are sure to return again and I will be renting from Debbie and John again. Also want to comment on Marti who is the property manager. Fabulous is all I can say....she answered my countless questions and provided all the information we needed for a great vacation. Definitely would recommend friends and family to stay here too.

Visited in December for a week. The floor plan is open and nice, house was clean, and the back looks out over the ocean. House was comfortable for the 6 of us. There is no beach at house to use since ocean ends at beach wall and steps down to water are steep and sharp. Wished that the back patio had a roof so we could enjoy that area more often. Weather was rainy at this time of year; power went out for part of a day, and house water was not available for part of another day. The house had little ants in the kitchen and we saw several cockroaches - guess that is a common problem. The location is across from the local airfield and seemed a bit far from activities. Overall a good value, safe and a nice place to stay.

We just returned from a great 2-week stay at Conover’s beach house in Mokuleia on the North Shore of Oahu. We were blessed to be there for a beautiful family wedding at Waimea Chapel with an incredible sunset reception at the Loulu Palm Estate near Sunset Beach followed by relaxed vacation time. At the beach house, the ocean was at our door step and turtles swam the reef everyday. We slept to the sound of the waves and awoke to climb down the rock steps and take a swim each morning and then walk on the beach. We swam, snorkeled, and paddled right off the house...for anyone who loves the ocean, surf, beach, sunshine and quiet island life, this was paradise. Skydivers floated down daily overhead, yet the house is private and secure. The house was fully equipped with every kitchen, household, or beach necessity. Marti

My husband, three children (ages 13, 11, and 9), my mother-in-law, and I stayed for 5 days in July 2010. The listing description and photos were very accurate. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The house manager was awesome answering my many questions. I loved sitting on the seawall, drinking my morning coffee, and watching for the sea turtles. The surf was too rough to swim from the house location, but the view was great. The kids enjoyed watching the skydivers float overhead. My children took a surf lesson from Surf n Sea in Haleiwa. The instructor, TG, was so patient with my daughter (only 52 pounds). He was not sure she was big enough to paddle out, but she was the first one out and the last one in. They all had a fantastic time. While the house is located about an hour from Pearl Harbor, it was nice to come back to a quiet comfortable house after a long hot day of touring. Loved the outdoor shower and the box of chocolates. I would highly recommend this location to anyone vacationing on Oahu.

Just finished a week long stay at this property with six of us in our party. The ocean view from the most rooms and the back yard was spectacular. The sea turtles love hanging out all around the ocean wall which was amazing to watch each day. The kitchen was "Kitchen Friendly" and the beds were very comfortable. Safe and secure off street private parking was nice as well as the location. Close to almost anything you wish to do on the North Shore. I made my first skydiving jump! We all had a blast and would stay here again.

This home is fabulous!!!! What an open floor plan for enjoyment of the ocean and each other! You couldn't ask for better views and the moon reflecting on the water...omg...how awesome! We fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the ocean wall every night and never even turned on the air conditioning because the breezes were so wonderful. You bet we'd stay again. Thanks, everyone for providing such a clean and well equiped home for our group.

We had use of the house from 9/8/09 thru 9/12/09. My husband had been looking for a nice beach house to stay at since it had been a long time since we've been on a vacation (due to the birth of our daughter in April 2008). At first it was discouraging because we weren't getting responses to our inquiries --- we've been told that most VR owners prefer NOT to book local residents for various reasons. When the Conovers contacted us, it was like a godsend. Confirming us for our dates was a quick process, and House Manager Marti was easily available to answer our questions. The house itself is as represented in its description and photos. We think it is the best house on that stretch of beach by far. My parents also joined us for the week and enjoyed much needed relaxation. My husband and father enjoyed the fact that they could fish right out of the backyard. It is truly a "dream house". -- Glen, Colleen & Mia Teramae...

This is a fantastic place! We always rent houses for vacation and this is one of the best we've had. Good beds, all equipment you could need (in good condition), plus a few extras, wonderful backyard/patio and very kid friendly. There was more to do than we expected on the North Shore...I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks!

Aloha, What a lovely home. I live on Oahu and am regularly renting beach houses for my own vacation as well as for my family when they visit. The house is amazingly clean and well equipped. Everything you need, all tile floors so very easy to keep clean. The view is incredible with skydivers going by and the ocean breaking on the wall. And all at such a reasonable price. I have family members staying here this week and have extended our stay as more come in for my mom's memorial. What a place to recover from all that stress of caregiving. A perfect place from which to see all Oahu has to offer, or to just relax and read and enjoy the ocean, I don't plan to more for at least 3 more days. than maybe i will make it out to snorkel elsewhere. oh and the air conditioning really works, everything in this house is like it is brand new.

My family of five found this was the perfect spot for us. nice and roomy, well appointed, great for relaxation. There was attention to detail with the provided beach chairs and lots of tidbits of the local scene. The owner and agent were both very accommodating and interested in making sure we were taken care of Recommend for anyone who wishes to really experience the North Shore and do it is the comfort of a house.

Vaction Rentals by Owner on VRBO Listing Number #73267 Arriving late at night after a long journey from England, what a breath taking view to wake up to "sun, sea, surf & sand". During our two week stay {9th-23rd September 2008}, we had a turtle visit us most days, a wonderful experience. The house was very spacious, comfortable, cosy, relaxing and peaceful. A well cared for home, beautifully furnished and CLEAN, everything you would want and need for the "perfect" holiday. It was lovely sitting in nice surroundings watching the skydivers and surfers {even our son had a go at surfing}. We hired a board locally, good rates, at Wave Riding Vehicles, Haleiwa. We had a fantastic time on the island and our stay at "Mokuleia on the Water" made it even more of an amazing holiday. We would certainly recommend to family, friends and hopefully come back. We would like to thank Marti for all her help and kindness, a lovely lady. Mahalo The Jeffreys Family, Herne Bay, Kent. ENGLAND

My family (my husband and I and three children ages 16, 12, and 10) stayed for 10 days in August 2008 and had a wonderful time. The house has recently been renovated and is beautifully decorated and well appointed with everything you need for a wonderful beach vacation. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived. There is plenty of room for a family of five or six to stay in this home without feeling cramped in the least. The ocean view from the house was so magnificent I couldn't wait to get up in the morning and drink my morning coffee on the patio. This house is just a short drive away from beautiful beaches like Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and look forward to our next visit to Hawaii.

John and Debbie, We would truly like to thank you for creating such a piece of paradise with your home in paradise and allowing it to be shared by those who are lucky enough to rent the property. After two weeks in the house it just doesn't seem fair to have to give up the awesome ocean views and sound of the waves for traffic, work and all the other "fun" stuff. Everyone had a great time at your beautifully decorated and maintained home! We appreciate Marti checking in with us to make sure everything was okay, which once again was awesome. We so enjoyed our November stay at your beautiful home! It was everything we had hoped for in a vacation home! The sounds of the waves and the peaceful surroundings were heavenly! The home accommodated our two children's wheelchairs without a hitch - plenty of room to move about and our dear daughter, six (severely disabled), adored sitting on the patio listening to the waves and feeling the wind on her face! Thank you for a lovely vacation! We hope to return one day! Angela, Kevin, Andrew, Katie, Chrissy, Stephen and baby Emily!

We just spent our 25th wedding anniversary at this beautiful home. I can't say enough good things about it. My husband and I were so relaxed there whether drinking our coffee in the morning or watching t.v. after a long day of sightseeing. I have stayed in a lot of places and by far this home was spotless! Marti was just wonderful making sure that a light was left on for us when we arrived and even calling to make sure everything was going well. The house has a book with all the "hot" spots to visit and we hit just about every one. If you want to be out of the "ant farm" of Waikiki then this is the place to be. The small surfing town of Haleiwa is nearby with great restaurants and shops. Thank you so much John and family for making our first trip to Hawaii a wonderful memory. Whether it was early morning for breakfast; an afternoon on the deck or evening - it was just great! We watched the whales and the sky-divers whenever they were about! The best part was being able to come and go as we pleased! We didn't have to put up with the people or traffic of Honolulu if we didn't want to! Great house! A good thing due to the nightmare weather during the first eight days of our stay. We wer so thankful to be able to extend a couple of days so we could experience the house, beach, turtles as they should be experienced. Love the artwork, nice furnishings. Suggest a gas barbeque (got one) for windy days. For future visitors - stay away from Honolulu. We spent too much time in traffic and Waikiki is like being in an ant farm. We found out too late that there is no place like home here at the house. We plan on coming back (hopefully with better weather) and will recommend it to our family and friends.
