An extraordinary house in an extraordinary location. Directly on Blouberg Beach, with nothing between you and the beach other than your own front yard. One of the world's great beaches, with white sand as far as the eye can see. THE view of Table Mountain - the one on all the book covers and post cards - unobstructed and from almost every room in the house. The house was designed in the 1960's by Revel Fox, South Africa's most renowned architect. It has been in our family from the outset and is considered a South African landmark. Expanded and totally renovated in 2009, we kept the original form while adding a second story over the front part of the house. The Fox firm was also architect/building manager for the expansion.
Inside, the house has been totally renovated, with all new kitchen, all new bathrooms, all new floors, all new everything. Master king suites on both the first and second levels and two additional bedrooms (2xtwin beds, each) downstairs, sleeping 8 in total. Large, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar. Formal sitting and dining area on the lower level and large family room/TV room on the upper level. 3 full baths and a powder room.
The house is furnished and outfitted to a high standard, with such amenities as walnut counter tops, European bath fixtures, Italian marble floors, etc. WIFI (bring your own laptop or rent here) and flat panel TV.
Outside, the property is in the process of being relandscaped. Large patio area with built-in brick Braai (BBQ) and a 6-foot California redwood hot tub imported from the USA.
Bloubergstrand is a close-in suburb of Cape Town, lying across Table Bay from the city. You have miles of white sand beach at your doorstep. You are walking distance to great restaurants and upscale shopping. You are 5 minutes to great golf, 15-20 minutes to city center, and 30 minutes to the fabulous beaches at Clifton and Camps Bay, to the sports venues, and the wine routes.
In other words, you are close to everything yet in your own private place with the beach at your front door and that view of Table Mountain to enjoy any time of day. Stunning sunsets over the water.

Hi, my name is Marie, and I'll be your host during your stay in Blouberg. My husband, Chris, and I have family roots going back to the origins of South Africa. Chris is a semi-retired grape farmer and we have lived all of our lives inland, in the scenic Breede River Valley. With more time on our hands now we divide our time between Blouberg and the farm. We welcome you to South Africa and are confident you will enjoy your stay while here.
Why the Owner Chose Bloubergstrand
The lot was purchased and the house built by my late father-in-law in the 1960's. The location is stunning and anyone visiting the house will quickly see what a remarkable location it is. Miles of white sand beach at your feet, unending views of Table Mountain, with Cape Town nested at its foot, and of Robben Island. Exquisite sunsets over the water. One of only a handful of houses located directly on the beach.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Whether you're here on business or pleasure this is a great location for whatever you have in mind to do. Short commute into the city; walking distance to great restaurants and shopping; driving distance to all the pleasures of the Western Cape.
