An extraordinary house in an extraordinary location. Directly on Blouberg Beach, with nothing between you and the beach other than your own front yard. One of the world's great beaches, with white sand as far as the eye can see. The house was designed in the 1960's by Revel Fox, South Africa's most renowned architect. It has been in our family from the outset and is considered a South African landmark. Expanded and totally renovated in 2009, we kept the original form while adding a second story over the front part of the house. The Fox firm was also architect/building manager for the expansion.
Inside, the house has been totally renovated, with all new kitchen, all new bathrooms, all new floors, all new everything. Master king suites on both the first and second levels and two additional bedrooms (2xtwin beds, each) downstairs, sleeping 8 in total. Large, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar. Formal sitting and dining area on the lower level and large family room/TV room on the upper level. 3 full baths and a powder room. 3,000 sq. feet +/-.
The house is furnished and outfitted to a high standard, with such amenities as walnut counter tops, European bath fixtures, Italian marble floors, etc. WIFI (bring your own laptop or rent here) and flat panel TV.
Outside, the property has a large patio area with built-in wood-burning brick BBQ (wood supplied) with seating for 8 and a separate and very private patio/garden out the back, off the lower master suite. 6-foot California redwood hot tub.
Bloubergstrand is a close-in suburb of Cape Town, lying across Table Bay from the city. You have miles of white sand beach at your doorstep. You are walking distance to great restaurants and upscale shopping. You are 5 minutes to great golf, 15-20 minutes to city center, and 30 minutes to the fabulous beaches at Clifton and Camps Bay, to the sports venues, and the wine routes.
In other words, you are close to everything yet in your own private place with the beach at your front door and that view of Table Mountain to enjoy any time of day. Stunning sunsets over the water.

Hi, my name is Marie, and I'll be your host during your stay in Blouberg. My husband and I have family roots going back to the origins of South Africa. Chris is a semi-retired grape farmer and we have lived all of our lives inland, in the scenic Breede River Valley. With more time on our hands now we divide our time between Blouberg and the farm. We welcome you to South Africa and are confident you will enjoy your stay while here.
Why the Owner Chose Bloubergstrand
The lot was purchased and the house built by my late father-in-law in the 1960's. The location is stunning and anyone visiting the house will quickly see what a remarkable location it is. Miles of white sand beach at your feet, unending views of Table Mountain, with Cape Town nested at its foot, and of Robben Island. Exquisite sunsets over the water. One of only a handful of houses located directly on the beach.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Whether you're here on business or pleasure this is a great location for whatever you have in mind to do. Short commute into the city; walking distance to great restaurants and shopping; driving distance to all the pleasures of the Western Cape. Your house was the perfect venue for our family to all come together for a holiday and to celebrate our dad's 80th birthday! There was lots of space for the 8 of us, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms nice and spacious. We made good use of your well-equipped kitchen and the lovely braai area too. And of course none of us could get enough of the view! The house is located so perfectly, right on the beach, and walking distance to the little mall, it was nice not to have to get in the car every time you need some groceries or want to go for a stroll on the beach. We would definitely love to stay there again in the future!

Fantastic seaside home. Lots of space and very comfortable. Also extremely well stocked with supplies and basic necessities. We really enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and the incredible view of Table Mountain. Home was very conveniently located to shops and grocery stores. Blouberg beach was beautiful. We enjoyed the walks along the beach and watching the windsurfers and kite surfers. We look forward to visiting again one day.

A very beautiful, clean, spacious home with fantastic views of the ocean! All amenities you could imagine and close to shopping, restaurants, etc. We had a great time here and felt very safe and comfortable at all times.

This lovely holiday home is truly the best place i and my family ever stayed in during April/May 2007. Its not a 5 star hotel but the reason is we all feel at home and the view is geniune the best there is.Clean safe and relaxing. I was amaze that the area that we stay was so clean and safe, our neighbours and other people walking on the beatifull, stretchy , clean beach are the friendlyest people that i have meet in a long time. I had tears in my eyes when we had to leave, we cant wait to book our next stay in the beatifull osborne house. We all enjoyed it so much, we will definetely be back sometime next year. you will see my next comment on this page next year or who knows even in this year. Our first stay at Osborne was 10 days long with our friends Bonnie and Les,we had a wonderful time. Then our son Jody, his wife Dionne and children Josh and Jordyn joined us for our second stay of 5 days. What a super time. We had gorgeous views, wonderful beach, great spacious clean house. Also thank's to Myrtle for helping us keeping it that way. nice and private, enjoyed the braai in the courtyard and the sounds of the ocean as we drifted off to sleep at night. we already planning a reurn visit.

What a previlege it was to enjoy our Christmas/New Year's holiday in the Osborne House. Blaaubergstrand is always our first and primary spot to relax completely and enjoy every minute when we visit the Cape. Osborne House gives you all this and also the most wonderful scenery through the huge lounge windows and doors or from the garden. No buildings in front to spoil the view to Table Mountain, Robben Island, the out of the world sunsets. Scenery to enjoy and see God's hand in it. My family and I loved our stay at Osborne. The house was nice and clean inside and out, and the view was gorgeous. We found the house very accomodating and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cape Town.
