Coral Bay Outlook is a lovely, hillside house overlooking one of St. John's most spectacular harbors with views of the British Virgin Islands on the near horizon. The spectacular north shore beaches and the wild Salt Pond Bay are all just a short drive away. Coral Bay restaurants and shopping are within walking distance.
Like many homes in St. John, Coral Bay Outlook has a main level (upstairs) and a separate Guest Apartment (garden level). Therefore, you may rent the entire house for 4 to 7 people; perfect for two couples who want privacy or for a family traveling with another couple. Or rent the main level (upstairs) for 4+ people or the very affordable Guest Apartment (garden level) for 2. Whatever your choice, you will find the views are superb from both levels, and the accommodations are comfortable with Caribbean rattan furniture, cool natural tile floors, and 10 foot high Bahama-style ceiling fans on the main level.
The house is situated on a hillside about 200 yards from the harbor’s edge. It is surrounded by lush gardens with palm trees and jasmine flowers. While it is convenient to the village of Coral Bay, the property is very private. Two large decks overlook the harbor and there is a shady terrace and barbeque area on one side. From the decks, you can see boats traversing the harbor, catch the rising sun, and enjoy the afternoon shade while looking at the lush British Virgin Islands - Norman Island, Tortola and Peter Island - in the near distance.
The main level of the house has a 'great room' with a large outdoor deck running the full length. The great room includes a living area with a TV, VCR, DVD and stereo, an eating area and a modern, fully-equipped kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms with a double bed in each. The second bedroom also has a single bed. One bedroom includes 1/2 bath and the other has 1 full bath with an attached outdoor, tiled shower that has a spectacular harbor view. On the deck there is Weber gas-fired grill. The main level is new to the rental market having been carefully tended by resident owners for the past several years.
The garden level is a fully separated living unit with its own entrance, and a large deck with panoramic views. It has 1 bedroom, 1 bath and a living/dining that measures 10 by 20 feet and kitchen area. It is furnished in the same Caribbean style, bright and colorful. There is a Weber gas grill.
The house can be rented as 2 units or as 1; with a special 'whole house rate'.
Just a short drive away, you will find St. John’s legendary, white, sandy beaches and the National Park hiking trails. A variety of restaurants, including Skinny Legs, Island Blues, and Shipwreck Landing are located nearby along the Coral Bay shoreline. Miss Lucy’s waterside Sunday jazz brunch at Friis Bay is only 5 minutes down the road. Boat and kayak rentals, sailing charters, snorkeling, hiking trails, and horseback excursions are all available in the immediate area. Most local restaurants feature live music in season.
