Our family, all adults, spent a wonderful week at Casa Alta and loved it. The pictures are accurate. The home is spacious and clean and the bedrooms are each secluded and have their own bathrooms. The master bedroom, bathroom and deck with hammock and sofas was astounding, windows all around. The refrigerator was stocked with a few Imperial beers and coffee which was really nice. The deck and pool were used every morning for breakfast and sunning----and cooling off! Olivier arranged our transportation from and to the airport which was so easy. Our driver stopped at the classic sight seeing spots and on our return trip the bathroom stop was at a very nice shop for last minute purchases. We arranged our tours through Olivier and Luz. We got discounts at each of them and the vans picked us up at the house. The bus stop to the beach and Quepos is at the end of the street and cabs are plentiful. We walked to restaurants in the evenings and to the bars and hotels for sunset watching. We would advise stopping on your way to the house in Quepos and getting some groceries and beverages at the larger markets there. We shopped at the local Super Joseth which worked, but we think the larger stores would be better. Everyone we met was friendly and kind, and all appreciated that we were visiting their country. It was a great experience and we recommend this house to anyone going to the Manuel Antonio area.

Waking up each morning to the sounds of howler monkeys and a beautiful view of both the mountains and ocean was awesome! Casa Alta was comfortable and always clean(thanks to the cleaning lady, Flor, who we just adored). Olivier and Luz were so accommodating and very helpful with information about the area and helping us schedule amazing excursions. My children enjoyed swimming in the pool each day, which was also kept very clean. The house is in a great location as you are close to many great restaurants, a supermarket, bakery, and best of all, Manuel Antonio park. I would highly reccomend this Villa to anyone looking to spend time in Manuel Antonio.

Casa Alta became home for six Americans for seven days! It was a delightful place, high on a hill with excellent views, a pool and patio where we spent every morning with coffee and conversation and daily maid service. There was plenty of room for all of us, we watched the Dallas Mavericks win the championship from the comfortable couches - we were so proud of our hometown team. None of us had every been to Cost Rica and all of us decided that we would come back. The country, the people, all were wonderful.

I cannot say enough good things about the property. Our group of six could not have been happier. Olivier was most helpful in recommending restaurants, activities, and advice in general. He arranged a tour with Manuel Antonio Expeditions for the national park. Their tours are so good we took another with them to the mangrove swamps. Whatever you do, don't fail to have dinner at Kapi Kapi which is nearby. Beware of Budget Car Rental at the airport in San Jose. We were victims of a bait and switch there. Additionally buy your Costa Rican auto insurance prior to arrival in the country thus only being beaten up in pricing rather than being raped. In total though we loved Costa Rica as well as Casa Alta.

We stayed for a week in May -June 2011, and had 7 people there. 3 couples and a single, all adults. Both Olivier and Luz made it very easy, and were easy to reach with questions and for help on tours and dining. Luz cooked for us one evening, and it was delicious. The maid service was great, and the house impeccable. We loved the pool, and the outdoor seating area. We were there every night, even in the nights with heavy rain, comfortable. We were fortunate, and had great weather, a mix of sun and clouds, with some mixed rain each day. We used the barbeque a couple nights, grilled steaks and veggie, was great. We ran the local streets down to the beaches, quite a workout! We would highly suggest this property and the owners to anyone considering vacationing there. We enjoyed dining at Avion, Sancho's, Kapi Kapi, and relaxing at the local bars on the main beach. We did the National Park tour, great guide. Juan is the owner of the company, and was very good, funny, and informative. It is Manuel Antonio Expeditions. The Zip Line Company that we used was Canopy Safari, and it was very high quality, safe, but thrilling. Luz suggested it. Overall, this is a great place. Another VRBO winner.

Casa Alta is the best place to stay in Manuel Antonio. You get jungle views from one side of the house, and water views from the other. The house is laid out great - the main floor with the open kitchen and living room spills out onto the gorgeous deck and pool area, perfect for hanging out after a day of hiking, surfing, or just Costa Rican relaxing. Olivier and Luz were great resources for things to do in the area, and Flor was awesome - the house was always clean thanks to her! The location of the house is away from touristy bits which is really nice - its quiet at night, and you feel like a local. We hope to stay here again! Olivier, Luz, Flor and Casa Alta have my highest recommendation.

We stayed at Casa Alta in June 2010. Casa Alta is simply an amazing villa in a superb location. The villa is walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. A local grocery store is a five minute walk away and has everything you need to grill out and make your own meals. We walked to the beach on several occasions which takes 15-20 minutes, but is a truly great hike. For those not interested in walking, the buses and taxi's are safe and stop a few hundred meters from the Casa Alta. The Casa Alta itself is a beautiful villa. The pictures are accurate and the villa is actually more stunning in person. The pool is perfect to cool off on those hot days. The property is always clean as a maid and a pool man clean everyday. You hardly see either of them and the maid does laundry every Wednesday. Olivier is a great host that can set up any trip at the lowest price. If you have any questions with the area or where to eat, he is the man to ask. He is very easy to get ahold of during the trip in case any problems arise. Like what was mentioned above, this is a luxury vacation at a fraction of the cost. We definitely plan on returning to the Casa Alta in the future to experience more of what Costa Rica has to offer. I recommend Costa Rica and more importantly Casa Alta. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic!! A great place and a great location. Private and safe! We've rented here several times. Five minutes from the beach and from fantastic restaurants. The most relaxing vacation we've ever had. Beautiful pool, comfortable beds and Olivier the owner is great. We can't wait to come back for even longer this year.

Overall, we had a great time in the house. It is a beautiful house in the heart of Manuel Antonio. The deck, small pool and upstairs deck are pretty amazing. It has decent views of the mountains and a bit of the ocean as well as all the other homes in the area. It is in a neighborhood so you do hear and see a lot of the locals, which can be good or not as good depending on what you are looking for. It also has razor wire around the outside which felt a bit weird in eco-friendly Costa Rica, but I am sure is part of the deal when you have a property that is not always occupied. It is the same with most nicer houses in that area. We liked hearing and seeing a bit of the local flavor and it is walking distance to grocery store and bus stop which was handy. The owner (english speaking) and his cleaning person (Spanish only) were great. Very nice and easy going with good info about the area. They can hook you up with tours if you are interested. As far as tours go - we did the Dolphin Planet sunset snorkel tour and it was great. Great staff - saw a humpback whale, dolphins and had lots of good food and drink. We ventured off ourselves on few adventures to Manuel Antonio park and hung out on the nice beaches and watched all the monkeys. If you drive from San Jose - get a 4x4 and look for the locals "fuzz buster" light flashes. Thanks Ollie, we would come back in a heart beat.

Had a fantastic trip - Flor the maid was so sweet and unobtrusive. Special treat were the two monkeys passing thru the trees next to our pool! Terrific and comfortable home - Olivier is a generous host, and was available whenever we needed him. Recommendations to Oli - room darkening curtains in the two rooms that face the East - the sun comes up with a vengeance in those two rooms at 5:30am!! Also, an oven would have been nice, as several of us wanted to be able to roast, but, the BBQ grill was sufficient. Will definitely consider Casa Alta for our next trip! Thanks again, Oli!

Casa Alta exceeded our expectations! Upon arrival Oli and his family were waiting to greet us with welcoming drinks. They also gave us some tasty Costa Rican coffee that was enough to last us the entire week!! The villa is amazing inside and out. The sunset and views from the villa are astonishing. It was a girls getaway and not once did we ever feel unsafe in Manuel Antonio. Oli did all the work of planning our excursions, and made sure we were all doing good everytime we saw him with what we liked to call his signature "2 thumbs up" Getting around without a car was a breeze with the bus stop at the top of the street and cabs available with a quick wave of the arm. All and all the Casa Alta is an amazing Villa in a beautiful country full wonderful people! We WILL be back!!! and of course, Pura Vida!!

This was definitely the BEST vacation that we have been on. Everything was amazing. The villa was absolutely breathtaking – especially the views. It was very clean and very spacious. The owner, Oli, is awesome. He helped us coordinate excursions and always made sure that we were enjoying our stay. Casa Alta is in a great location – walking distance to most restaurants and the grocery store. We will definitely be coming back again!!!! Can’t wait!! Pura Vida

We stayed at Casa Alta for the second time recently and had a fantastic time. The property is extremely spacious and sitting on the deck in the evenings is tough to beat. We also loved being able to come back from a long day of tours, get out of the tour van, and walk directly up the stairs and jump into the pool. We opted for the maid service and they also made us breakfast a couple of mornings when we didn't have to get up early for our tours, and I don't know if it was just being in Costa Rica, or what, but the banana pancakes she made were out of this world. Location is central to both the town and the beach, and the manager arranged two tours for us (canopy and ATV) as well as a 1/2 day fishing. The fishing was slow this time of year, but the time on the boat and the great weather, made up for the slow fishing.

This was my 7th trip to CR and by far my best. Previously we stayed in hotels, but this is the best way to experience Manuel Antonio The accomodations were absolutely excellent and the owner, a British gentleman named Oli, took care of all of our needs. He arranged tours, recommended local hot spots, and most of all gave us total sense of well being. I'll be back before the years end! Pura Vida!

Our group of three couples recently stayed at Casa Alta and had a blast. The owner/manager is a riot and scheduled several tours for us. We aren't the most adventurous group, so we did a park tour where we saw loads of wildlife and a sloth no more than 2 meters from us. So incredibly cool. The property is open and spacious and located perfectly between the town and the beach. I recommend getting a rental car, but the house is within easy walking distance of a small grocery store, one block from the bus stop, and taxis are easy, but we enjoyed the freedom of a rental car that the owner (Oli) arranged for us after our first day. The piictures of the property are accurate, and although we ate out most of the time, we did make a few dinners, and loaded the fridge up with beverages. We also had breakfast made for us a few days by the maid/housekeeper and it was a nice treat to wake up to fresh coffee, fruit, eggs and pancakes. It was delicious.

This is a perfect vacation villa. You could not ask for more, pool, great layout, harwood floors, and convenient location between Manuel Antonio and Quepos . It was nicely furnished, very clean, and the maid service was an excellent touch making it that much more of a relaxing vacation. The owner Oli, made thigs easy by providing great reccomendations and helped with arrangements for fishing and other activities. Highly recommended, I'm looking forward to the 3rd trip back!

My party and I have literally just returned from our week at Casa Alta. We loved it. The villa far exceed our expectations. Having rented a few vacation homes, I usually take all descriptions with a grain of salt, as everyone will try to show their places in the best possible light with photos that show the better aspects of the property. But that was not the case here, the villa looks even better than the photos! Casa Alta is immaculately clean and there was just so much room. The manager was so helpful and friendly. He even went to the villa & checked up on us when he couldn't reach us by phone (our ringer had been turned off). It was a wonderful experience, almost luxurious and at such a reasonable price. We would love to go back and we highly recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at Casa Alta for 4 nights. Very comfortable accommodations with beautiful wood floor and architectural lighting. Great view from the top deck where we spend many hours lounging on the hammock. Kitchen well equipped and come with some welcoming drinks - a nice touch after a long drive to get here. There is daily maid and a night guard also. Property manager can arrange for tours if you like of the area. Great place to park your family for a few days while visiting Manual Antonio.

Absolutely stunning views. The location was minutes from everything: restaurants, activities (4 wheeler tour), deep sea fishing, beach. Very spacious, incredibly clean, and a great pool to cool off. The layout was perfect for large groups or families and the separate floors allowed for some elbow-room and privacy. Can't wait to go back!

This property was clean, spacious, beautifully designed and a nice little oasis in Costa Rica. There is plenty of room to spread out, the pool area and patio are great for relaxing and socializing and the entire place is just nicely laid out. The property owner/manager was great! He really made our experience easy and arranged for tours and a personal chef. The maid service was also excellent. We had two couples and this was a trip to remember! We already miss it tremendously. We highly recommend this property and the Manuel Antonio area.
