Keywords: Villa
Classic old villa built in 1905. This property includes a Main House and a Guest House, each can accommodate up to 4 people (for a total of 8).
Villa Askedra is located on the mainland of Peloponneses, directly across of Poros Island. The property is privately situated near the waterfront at the Harbor Entrance on 7 acres of hillside.
The property offers old-world charm (original tile floors, decorative fireplace, antiques, piano) with commanding and unobstructed views of Poros Island, the Saronic Gulf, surrounding mountains, and other islands nearby. The home provides complete privacy and is sheltered by tall pine trees, which keeps it in the shade and cool. Lemon, orange, and olive trees can also be found on the property.
The villa is located in an ideal environment that is quiet, yet is only a five-minute walk to town and a two-minute water taxi ride to Poros Island for shopping, beaches, restaurants, and nightlife. There are west and east porch areas with dining areas to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets (the West Porch area is completely covered and sheltered by the sun). Perfect for couples, families, or those preferring a retreat-like setting. Discounts available to couples and smaller groups. Cleaning and linen changes are included, and a cook is available at an additional cost.

Villa on Hilltop Estate
Year Purchased: 1920
Why the Owner Chose Poros
Our family has been visiting the Poros area since family members first vacationed here in the early 1900s. Our great grandparents resided in Athens and first visited the home in the summer of 1918 when it was used as a rental. They were able to purchase it just a few years later. We feel fortunate that the home remains in the family, and we continue to make trips and vacation here.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
We enjoy the location and privacy that the property offers, while still being close to the town and near everything the area has to offer. We love being right at the harbor entrance and all the activity of the boats arriving and departing from/to neighboring islands, including the local fisherman. Grabbing a meal or visiting the beach couldn't be easier and within walking distance or a short drive
A famous grove of over 20,000 lemon and orange trees, with watermills, a spring and Taverna.
Dating to 1720, this monastery is located on the slope of a pine forest 4km east of poros town. The quiet Monastiri Beach with tavernas is a short walk down the hill.
These archaeological ruins are located near the top of Poros island, estimated to have been built in 520 B.C.
A small island on which a castle was built in 1827 to protect the port. Only the high stone walls remain.
One of Poros's most beautiful beach areas at the bottom of a slope of pine trees. With restaurants and water skiing.
Among the most beautiful houses of Poros, known for hosting great personalities in the Arts and Literature, including Henry Miller, George Seferis and Lawrence Durrell.

Villa Askedra was wonderful. It was more beautiful than the pictures, clean, comfortable, with outstanding views. The location was perfect, walking distance to Galatas, and water taxis to Poros, where buses ran to beaches, etc. Day trips were an easy drive to Hydra, Epidauros, Spetses, and we were always glad to return to our villa. The villa owners (in the U.S. and on-site) were extremely helpful with information and suggestions. It was our best vacation ever and we would recommend it to everyone who wants to "experience" Greece.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
