PAPAGALLO PLACE
Welcome to Papagallo Place with our guest villa and guest suite. This upscale, tropical, Asian-style compound offers all the amenities of a luxurious getaway with ocean and jungle views. All four houses are new in our gated compound with 24-hour security. The compound consists of the guest villa, guest suite, our main house and our caretaker family house.
Access is very easy as we are only point-six miles off the newly paved Costanera Highway above the quaint village of Uvita at an elevation of 700 feet overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We are south of Dominical and adjacent to the beautiful Ballena National Marine Park.
As guests in our villa or suite, you will also have full use of all compound facilities, including the large tiled "chlorine-free" pool that is surrounded with Columbian crushed coral decking (cool on the feet). Adjacent to the pool is a Balinesian-style open pavilion complete with palm thatched roof, hammocks, and gas barbecue. A "tree-house" deck connects to the pool deck, overlooks the ocean and is built on stilts. Computer/internet access is also available for your use in the main house, as is our telephone with answering machine. For your arrival, complementary wine, beer, and bottled water are included, and grocery shopping can be arranged. Daily housekeeping is included and a full-size washer/dryer is for your use.
The natural beauty of this area and wealth of activities make this a truly great destination. The lush jungle plunges into the sea and the colors are truly tropical. Monkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws, and hummingbirds are all around, and our three caged parrots and three pedigreed dogs add to the entertainment. Beautiful landscaping features exotic tropical plants everywhere.
Our caretakers are also here to help. Patricia can babysit and do your laundry. Donald is great at fixing things, and their children, seven and four, are delightful.
Our location is only five-eight minutes from all 11 fabulous beaches in Ballena National Marine Park, including Playa Ventanas, which is a must visit. Ventanas, or Windows Beach, gets its name from the beautiful sea caves which extend from the beach to the ocean, a distance of 40 meters, and during certain tides you can see a blowhole effect.
GUEST VILLA AT PAPAGALLO PLACE
The villa sleeps two to four in the large bedroom plus living area futon. Aero beds are also available for the villa deck to accommodate additional guests. The bedroom has a queen-size bed, walk-in closet, and air conditioning. Satellite television can be viewed from the bedroom, deck, or living area.
Featured is a full American kitchen with large refrigerator, gas stove and oven, microwave, large sink with garbage disposal, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. The walk-in pantry provides plenty of storage. The kitchen is stocked with basics, and includes a large, white stone counter with four bar stools.
A large, covered deck has built-in bench seats and table, and offers views of the ocean, jungle, and creek. Three steps down from the deck is a private brick patio overlooking the creek.
The bathroom features white stone counters, stone shower with built-in seat, and a garden view shower. All rooms, including bath and deck, have ceiling fans.
GUEST SUITE AT PAPAGALLO PLACE
The suite sleeps four and features two private bedrooms with queen-size beds, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. A large, luxury bath separates the bedrooms and includes stone counters and garden-view shower with built-in seat.
A huge, tiled deck faces the ocean, has built-in bench seats, and a mini-kitchen with palm-thatched roof. The kitchen includes a small refrigerator, sink, microwave, cooktop, electric frying pan, coffee maker and toaster, and is stocked with basics. |
