Private Homes, Mid-Island house description
What sets "Tidal High - 285 Tarpon Blvd" apart?
A combination of three things:
(1) We are located within easy walking distance of the beach. Not just any beach, but the best part of the beach on Fripp Island -- near Swordfish Road. This part of the beach has sand all day (not just at low tide). We are just a block and a half away.
(2) We have amazing views of the tidal marsh, including spectacular sunsets, on our oversized screen porch.
(3) We have privacy. Take a look at the satellite photo below. We do not have any neighbors close by. Live oak trees disguise the front of the house, the marsh is in the back, and there are no neighbors on either side. Guests won't be bothered by noise from nearby homes, and guests with kids don't have to worry about disturbing neighbors. This really takes the stress out of your vacation.
We think it is very hard to find a place that has all 3 of these features.
Explore Fripp Island -- two golf carts and 4 adult bicycles are included at no extra charge.
Tidal High is centrally located right in the middle of Fripp Island, just steps from the beach (mid-island -- the best part of Fripp's beach). The Beach Club complex is just two blocks away, with its swimming pools, tennis courts, gourmet restaurant, a cool beachfront bar, food court, pizza, ice cream, shops and more. The house is also right next door to the marsh boardwalk - take nature walks, a morning jog, bike rides, or go fishing and crabbing on the dock.
Tidal High was renovated in late 2005 - new floors, new furniture, new air conditioning system, and new mattresses on every bed. The HVAC system was replaced in 2006. All new appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher and stove) were installed in 2007.
The master bedroom has a queen bed, a marsh view, and its own bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The third bedroom has three twins. The second and third bedrooms share a full bathroom, but each bedroom has its own private changing area with a sink. There is an additional half bath on the main floor, as well as a full bathroom under the house downstairs (perfect for coming back from the beach). A large dining table seats eight. A marsh-view kitchen table in a breakfast nook surrounded by windows is perfect for card and board games.
Gas grill on the deck is perfect for cookouts.
To really enjoy Fripp Island, guests should have resort amenity cards. Amenity cards may be purchased by guests (currently $35 to $50 per week per person, depending on the season). Kids ages 12 and under do NOT need to purchase their own cards.
We include 2 resort amenity cards in our stated weekly rates. You can add additional cards (or you can go without and we will reduce the rent accordingly) -- your choice!
Amenity cards offer access to the Fripp Island resort's restaurants, swimming pools, golf courses, tennis courts, the fitness center, island excursions (boat tours, kayaking trips, nature tours, etc.), Camp Fripp for the kids, teen programs, and other island activities.
Non-smoking, and no pets.
The house features high-speed wireless internet, so bring your laptop, Amazon Kindle, iPad, whatever!

* * *
Fripp Island is a private, gated resort island located in the heart of the Low Country, about 19 miles from historic Beaufort, South Carolina. Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina are not far away. On Fripp Island, there are no hotels or high-rise condos, no fast food or chain restaurants, no neon signs, no crowds, no traffic, and no stress. The entire island is a wildlife sanctuary, with deer, loggerhead turtles, dolphins, egrets, herons, alligators, and beautiful marshes, lakes, creeks, canals, and miles of unspoiled beach.
There is no place like Fripp. And no place on Fripp like Tidal High. Book your vacation today.

Our first trip to Fripp and we chose Tidal High, I am so glad that we did. This was an awesome vacation and the owners made it even more special with all the "extras" that they included in your stay. I hope to make this an annual trip and hope to create even more memories at Tidal High. My family loved this house.

We cannot recommend this rental highly enough. The home is beautiful- open, airy and clean. It is well-decorated and comfortable. The marsh view is amazing and the natural beach so close. We had a great time using the golfcart. The owner provided us with helpful information throughout the rental process and was thoroughly professional. We plan to return to Tidal High, hopefully many times.

Thank you so much for the use of your house. One of our favorite things to do was to sit on the screen porch and enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the marsh. Our family had a wonderful time at Fripp!

Our family had such a wonderful time at your beautiful home on Fripp Island. The boys loved the beach and the waves, and John and I loved watching the deer and the birds while sitting on the porch every morning and afternoon and evening. This was the most relaxing family vacation our family has ever had. Thank you again.

We just spent 2 weeks in your home at Fripp Island and had a wonderful time on this our first visit to South Carolina. The view of the tidal marsh is very relaxing and the beach just a mere 200 yards away was breathtaking. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

My husband and crew LOVED your house - the furnishings, location, everything. Thanks for being so accomodating. I asked him if there was anything different that he would suggest and he said "nothing - it was great"... so there you go!
