We had a great time. The weather was a bit windy the first 3 days we were there and I think that was very unusual for them. George's place was perfect for the two of us and he gave us great suggestions before we visited Grace Bay. The resort was nice and Joe was very friendly and offered us some good advice on where to go and how to get there. I recommend going to the orientation session if you can. Joe will point out places on a map that you must see. You can also take a community taxi van to the grocery store at specified times of the day, and you will probably get sticker shock at the store...especially if you plan on buying beer/booze. I recommend buying a bottle duty free in the US before boarding your plane to the islands. Luckily my husband had that base covered! We used the free kayaks, snorkel gear and paddle board that came included in our stay at the Alexandra. We rented a car for one day and drove around the island a bit. It was interesting driving on the opposite side of the road. We planned this out so that we could eat at the restaurants that were a bit further away. We ate at Bay Bistro and they do have excellent seafood. Other restaurants we visited were Mango Reef, Da Conch Shack and Tiki Hut. Most days we ate breakfast and lunch in the room, but we went out for dinner each night. The half day excursion with Caicos dream tours was probably our favorite activity. The snorkeling was great and the clear water was amazing. Overall we enjoyed a week off of work from our busy schedules. It was very relaxing!

The studio is attractive and clean. There is a gas grill on site, which makes up for the lack of a stove in the unit. The small refrigerator and microwave, along with the grill makes it possible to avoid eating out every evening. We did try the Mango Reef fixed price dinner with a table in the sand on the beach. Wonderful view, food, and ambiance. Many nights there is a guitarist at the restaurant and we enjoyed hearing the music. The beach is beautiful and the resort is well kept and a pleasant place to be. We recommend this unit.

Working with George (the owner) was smooth. He replied promptly to our mails and was very helpful. The unit is perfect for a couple. We just wish there is a dresser to put clothes in although the unit has a good size closet. Beautiful pool view, the ocean view is off to the left when you get out of the balcony. The resort staff were extremely friendly. Mango Reef (on-site) offers great seafood menu. For an experience, try dining at Coco Bistro (romantic Caribbean setting) and Parallel 23 (at the Regent Palms Hotel next door Alexandria). If you like massage, I highly recommend the spa at Regent Palms. The beach was absolutely breathtaking with perfect turquoise color. The hotel staff are more than happy to cater your every need. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to visit Turks without breaking your bank.

My husband and I stayed in this unit from 3/3-3/10. We arrived and everything in the room and at the resort was even better than expected! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the on-site restaurant is fantastic! We visited several of the restaurants George recommneded, and were very pleased with all of them. George was fantastic to work with, and so helpful. He definitely went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed, and was very responsive when we had questions. The island is truly paradise. We walked the beach each morning and both my husband and I agreed that the beach at the Alexandra resort was the nicest. Pictures don't do the resort or the island justice! We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again very soon!

We visited Turks and Caicos Feb 3-11 and stayed in this condo @ the Alexandra Resort. The experience of renting from George on VRBO was simple, a few emails, a few checks by mail and before we knew it we were there. It was everything we could need: a studio room with a large bathroom. The balcony has a lounger, a table and chairs and served as our living area. Who goes to the tropics to sit inside? The kitchenette was handy for our breakfasts and snacks. We took coffee and breakfast food with us. The view is directly over the pool and landscaped grounds and very pretty. The ocean is off to the left but the turquoise water is viewable thru the palm trees. The bed and bedding were fine and the TV had alot of channels. The internet worked well. The staff was warm and friendly, the pool was great with plenty of towels and chairs. The beach was unbelievably beautiful with lots of chairs, umbrellas and staff that was eager to help you get it all set up wherever you wanted. The restaurant was yummy with pool bar and beachside service. What else could you possibly want??? We will be back to TCI as it is our new favorite destination and we hope this rental is available again. It is a great value!

We stayed at the Alexandra in George's condo in September. We had a wonderful time. The beach is simply breathtaking and the Alexandra is located on the perfect stretch of Grace Bay. Our room was lovely and George was very easy to work with. The on site restaurant (Mango Reef) is fantastic! We took the Alexandra shuttle to the IGA the first day we arrived for breakfast items and enjoyed amazing dinners out- there is no shortage of excellent dining options on Grace Bay. We opted to walk on the beach to and from lunch and dinner, to see more of the island you may want to rent a car. It was very quiet the time of year we visited, which was wonderful. The ocean is a beautiful, clear, turquoise blue and the sand is some of the most beautiful we have ever seen-- take a trip to Grace Bay, you will definitely be glad you did- it is spectacular.

We stayed at the condo in early September and the weather was great! It was blue skys and hot weather with hardly anyone on the beaches which made it seem like a real getaway. There was only 1 day where it rained but we still managed to get out to the pool during the times in between the rain. The resort was right off the beach which made it really convenient.

My wife and I just returned from a 10 day stay. The resort was wonderful. The room is perfect for two people. The food at the resort's restaurant - "Mango" - is wonderful. The scuba diving on the island is amazing - We went with Ocean Vibes and they were very good. I recommend staying at the Alexandra Resort. Thanks George.

We have rented through VRBO for MANY years and have had really good luck. This time was no exception. Our stay was 5/18 to 5/28. Everything was just fine and there was nothing that we needed that the owners didn't provide. Loved having a washer/dryer in the unit, too. The balcony area was just as promised, quiet and private. We enjoyed spending time there and looking out over the grounds/ocean. There was a problem with the safe but after contacting George by e-mail, someone from maintenance was there within 30 minutes to fix it. As for the Alexandra Resort itself, we were given a lovely greeting upon arrival with moist towels a cool drink and help with our luggage, surprising since we didn't book through the resort. We didn't get this the last time on the island at another resort. Pool was always sparkling clean. Staff always greeted us when walking by. Our favorite bartender was Chilove (pronounced Shee-loave). Great personality. Also loved the fact that we were able to get a big bag of ice at the bar for our cooler. You can't go wrong at the Mango Reef restaurant especially with such a varied menu. They even take special dietary requests. Listening to NaDa on Friday evenings (starting at about 6:30) was a treat. Didn't have any problems getting a beach chair no matter the time of day (maybe because of the time of year). Kayaks and paddleboats are available free of charge. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this studio condo and would go back without any hesitation.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the Turks and Caicos the second week of May in George's studio condo. It was perfect for two people but could have used a dresser to put clothes in. It was clean and the pictures show exactly what the property looks like. George gave us suggestions for restaurants and snorkeling. We could not have been happier. Rent a car so you can see the entire island. It's just beautiful!

My husband and I stayed for two weeks at this resort. Everything was perfect, from the food to the weather, the beach to the staff at the Alexandra. We definitely plan to go back soon. The studio was a bit small for us, however we didn't spend much time there. The grounds were very clean, and Mango Restaurant was superb. Thanks George for all your recommendations.

This was our first time at Turks and Caicos and definitely not our last. The Alexandra is a beautiful resort with lots of pool side seating as well as on the beach umbrella's and lounge chairs. The staff is fantastic and the bonus is the Mango Reef Resturant on the property that has a superb menu as well as the best dining on the decks right by the ocean with tiki torches and lighting which is magical. The studio condo is great if you are planning on eating out which we did, laundry in the unit is a plus. The resort is really quiet however so close to everything. We rented a car which is handy to go to the grocery store or explore. We ate at the Mango Reef twelve out of the fourteen nights and still drool thinking about the meals. We would recommend the Couch Shack, Bacci's, Vix, Fresh, and The Tiki Hut. We will be trying more places next time we visit Grace Bay. Oh and by the way make sure to visit Flavors of Turks and Caicos at the Regent shopping where they give samples of the Bambarra Rum made on the island and also sell the rum and rum cakes and other wonderful gifts.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Alexandra. Our room was comfortable and we had a nice view. There is plenty to do on the island as far as water sports go, shopping not so much. The restaurants within walking distance are great. The conch farm was an interesting place to visit as well. We would highly recommend this location to anyone who is just looking to get away from it all. Thank you George for all of your recommedations of things to do and eat while we were there, we were not dissapointed.

This was my first trip to TCI, and it won't be my last! It is truly one of the most beautiful islands I have been to. I was travelling solo, so safety and security were definite concerns, but there was nothing to worry about here. I went during the last week of August, and stayed for 8 nights; George was more than accommodating of my travel schedule (even though my stay bumped into another week). The resort is beautiful, and the beach is beyond gorgeous. All in all, I had an amazing time and I managed to completely destress, until Hurricane Earl paid a visit, which occurred the day I was due to fly out. Needless to say, this caused problems as American Airlines failed to notify either me or the resort of their flight cancellations (even though I signed up for instant email notification upon booking). Unfortunately, I didn't find out about the cancellations until my arrival at the airport. I would recommend this resort, and George's condo in particular to single travelers and couples alike. The resort has easy access to great restaurants and stunning beaches, and the room has beautiful garden, pool and beach views! George supplies his guests with a list of the best local eateries, rentals and activities, which is a huge help. The one negative aspect of my trip, aside from the hurricane, was that the resort was scheduled to undergo renovations the day after I left, which affected what amenities were available (pool area, bar, resort restaurant, and WiFi), neither event could be controlled by George. One bit of advice I would give to potential TCI travellers (and trevellers in general), is to stay in contact with their airline carrier and confirm your return flights prior to departure. DON'T wait for the airlines to contact you (via phone or email) or to contact the resort, because as I found out, they sometimes fail to do so and the airlines don't reimburse for expenses incurred as a result of their failure to notify of cancellations, nor do they assist with making last minute hotel reservations.

I would totally recommend renting from George! He was a great person to deal with and provided us with great contacts and information while on our trip. The condo was perfect for what we needed and we loved the beach! It was nice because it wasnt over crowded unlike Beaches down the way. We rented a car and went grocery shopping for our breakfast and lunch supplies and dined out for dinner. There are so many amazing places to eat! We loved Las Brisas and Coco Bistro! Also the Coch Shack was fun. The half day tour with Caicos Dream Tours was great! I totally recommend talking to John and booking that! We had the best time on that and met some fun people as well. We also explored and thanks to George found some beautiful beaches that were more secluded (Sapodilla and Taylor Bay). Overall it was a great first time to Turks and Caicos and a Honeymoon to remember. We would love to go back someday! ~Abby and Donnie

We found George's Grace Bay Beach condo comfortable and enjoyed celebrating our anniversary in Providenciales. The condo was nicely appointed with comfortable furnishings. We enjoyed the late afternoons reading on the balcony, where small gusts of wind kept us comfortable. The beach at the Alexandra Resort is better than other complexes in the area, making it wonderful for wading and swimming (no rocky outcrops). We relaxed, read and snoozed on the breezy powdery white sand beach under the permanent wooden umbrellas (they'll also set up canvas umbrellas). There are a few restaurants within walking distance, but renting a car gives you more options and makes it easier to pick up groceries at Grace Gourmet. We appreciated the suggestions given by George, finding him pleasant and easy to work with as we set up our trip. We'd recommend staying there!

This condo unit was very comfortable. There is a balcony where we had our morning coffee. Lots of TV channels, books and everything you need (dishware, utensils, towels, etc). Very conveniently located on Grace Bay. The resort itself is very nice with a pool and direct access to the beach, walking distance to many other resorts and restaurants. Internet access was spotty, but you can go to the business center (one computer, but never anyone there). The owner was very responsive and helpful with suggestions, even when I emailed while in Turks. Highly recommend! There are no longer outside grills you can use on the property. :(

George was a great resource of information that we used on our trip. The rented a car from Grace Bay rental. I am a big man and the car that I had was a bit small to get into. It was a very busy week down there and did not fuss with it. The car got us where we needed to go and back fine. A must see is the Conch Farm. Sally and Jerry wanted to say hi to everyone. We did try Bacci and Tikki Hut as well as other resturants on the island. We were disappointed at the Orchid resturant in that they messed up our reservations. I would definitely go back again and enjoy the beautiful beach. The beach boys were helpful in identifying lounges that people were not using. This is typical at most resorts as people seem to think that they own the chaise lounges after they have been gone for hours. Relaxing vacation at a real nice place where the people were very nice.

We just came back from an excellent stay(10 days) at the Alexandra Resort and Spa. The condo was immaculate and was well appointed by the owners. We had an incredible view of the ocean from the balcony and had breakfast/lunch out there every day. The owners also saved us a lot of $$$ on a car rental and sunset cruise. They were spot on with all of their restaurant and excursion recommendations. We really felt very comfortable with George and Pam(Owners) in setting up our 10 year Anniversary. Thank You!!!!

We just returned from a 7 night stay in this condo at the Alexandra and it was one of the best trips we have ever taken. We visited several other resorts during our stay and are convinced that the Alexandra is one of the best that we could have picked. The resort staff was wonderful and the grounds were immaculate. The beach was fabulous and not crowded at all. The condo has everything you need including WiFi and was in pristine condition. It is in a good location as it's close to many restaurants, shops, and our favorite bar Calico Jacks. We definitely recommend renting a car if you plan on venturing around the island and taking the ferry to North and Middle Caicos if you have time. George's recommendations are great and we will definitely book with him again!

It is so clean and well-appointed, and has everything you could ever need, including plenty of extra towels, blankets, and pillows, and a collection of good paperbacks for you to read on the beach! The staff at the Alexandra is so friendly and helpful as well. They made all the arrangements for our day trip to North and Middle Caicos, all we had to do was show up at the ferry! The grounds were clean and the beach was not crowded at all. We walked all the way down to the Grace Bay Club and noticed how crowded the other hotels were and were so glad we were staying at the Alexandra! George gave us so many recommendations to choose from and was so helpful. We loved our trip and can't wait to return!

I just returned from a weeks vacation with a friend, staying at George and Pam's condo. I cannot begin to tell you what a fabulous experience I had at The Alexandra!! The room was lovely, everything you could possibly want was there. We had a gorgeous view of the beautiful pool, and a limited yet stunning view of the ocean. The staff were all very friendly, courteous, and helpful. I met many down to earth people, both visitors like myself, natives, and people who have moved there. The beach and water are only steps away and the most beautiful shades of turquoise and aqua, and the sand is super fine and comfortable for walking. (never too hot) We walked the beach in both directions and stopped for drinks, dinner and lunch at various other resorts, and we still preferred the Alexandra. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet vacation in the most gorgeous beach setting you could imagine, then this is the place for you. Thanks again George and Pam for such an incredible introduction to Turks and Caicos, I know I will be back!!!

We stocked up at the IGA on the first afternoon and only had to go out for dinners, which were all quite good! George and Pam's condo is quite nice: simple, clean and modern!! They provided us with some great recommendations for dining, excursions and ways to get the full TCI experience, which were much appreciated for a couple of first timers. We were very sad to leave and are hoping to return to this gorgeous place very soon!! Thanks again George and Pam and we hope to have the privilege of working with you again in the future!!

P.S., I do highly recommend to all to rent a car from Tod at Grace Bay Car Rentals and go and explore the island, we rented one for the entire two weeks and it made a huge difference in our vacation experience!

We spent a week over New Year's at George's Alexandra Resort condo -- our first real trip without the kids. The facilities are beautiful and the location is great. You can walk either way on the beach forever, with a few restaurants available to stop at if you get thirsty or hungry along the way. You're also located close to most of the good restaurants on the island. The beach and water on Grace Bay is everything we expected -- one of the best we've been to.

We spent the week relaxing on the beach and enjoying the fabulous restaurants that George recommended! DA Conch Shack, The Tiki Hut, and Coco Bistro were our favorites. The condo was lovely. We enjoyed the ability to make our own coffee and snacks. As very active people, we rented a 4x4 and covered every inch of the island. Northwest Point Beach is quite a bumpy ride...but worth it! Malcolms Beach is also nice. Bight reef had some friendly barracudas, huge sting rays and many fish. As far as food...LOVED Anacoana at the Grace Bay Club..ask for Kirk and Table 61 or 71..fabulous!! Also the Infiniti Bar is awesome...fun people and great drinks. Also enjoyed Coco Bistro and Magnolias. Most fun tour was with Big Blue kayaking around the mangroves..Brett was a great guide. All in all you will love this island...the locals told us July is the best time to go...perfect weather and not crowded!

The condo is perfect. My wife and I loved it and it really made our stay there very special. Could not think of anything else that it needs. Had breakfast "in" each a.m. Bought fruit, etc. at IGA; made cafe; had it on terrace. Once we went to Saltmills cafe and took out salads and had on terrace w/vino for lunch. Beach is so nice; people at Alexandra were very nice and accomodating. Car rental worked out well- we were driven to hotel upon arrival, where the car was waiting. We stayed on Grace Bay for the most part and one afternnoon went to Taylor Bay which we loved- but that afternoon was very hot and as there is no shade there we did not stay too long- but the water was perfect. As far as dinners, we ate at: Iguana, Coco Bistro (our favorite); Mango Reef, Simba, Bay Bistro, and Hemingways. Lunched at Shark-Bite and Da Conch Shack (preferrerd Sharkbite). hardly needed a/c. great breeze from the balcony; even needed sheet at night. So all in all- thank you and we hope to return one day again and if we do, we will certainly call upon you again for the rental. Ron

We've just spent 15 days in paradise. If you want peace and quiet, beautiful sea, white sand and amazing sea-life, then this is the place for you! Call George now!

We just returned from our honeymoon. We were there for 10 days and really enjoyed the condo. It had everything we needed. The resort is excellent and the people there are very nice. I would recommend this condo to anyone.

We just returned on July 5th from staying in this beautiful condo at the Alexandra Resort. It is a terrific condo for two people. Everything is almost brand new, very high end and immaculate. In addition, the Alexandra is a terrifically maintained resort, is also quite new and the staff is very friendly. The resort sits on Grace Bay which is a beautiful beach, in a great location, central to many restaurants and great snorkling. We certainly recommend both this condo and the Alexandra Resort.

We were very impressed with the room, and the resort was very friendly, and eager to help. The only issue we had was the wireless didn't work from our room. I tried using the deck, as suggested by the staff, and it only worked a couple of times. But that was the only down side of the resort. The beach is beautiful, and the water amazing. I would highly recommend this resort, and George Stevenson especially.

My husband and I spent eight nights at Provo. We stayed in this condo, and were very comfortable. We enjoyed the Alexandra, very friendly staff, warm, happy people, comfortable resort. Grace Bay is a marvel, and Alexandra is situated at a nice point on the beach. We have stayed at many beach locations, and this is one of the best.

Went for our honeymoon. Everything was beautiful. Could have done without the construction, but it is everywhere down there right now. Overall great resort and great staff.

Comment Text: We just returned from a great time in Provo. The studio is very nicely done, full of everything we needed and very comfortable for two people. There is a nice view of the pool and you can see the ocean and beach from the balcony, which is nicely furnished with a table and chairs and a lounger. The resort is lovely and just how we imagined through all the pictures. The beach was even better. We enjoyed the location as we were able to walk on the beach to a few restaurants and found the Gecko to be very reliable and fast for those further away (Coco Bistro and Magnolias were our two favorites). The staff was also helpful in securing reservations for dinner and calling the Gecko for us. There is construction on the fourth building right now (there is construction all over the island), so although the pool area looked really nice, it was essentially unusable (for us) because of all the noise. But it wasn't a huge deal as the beach was the place we wanted to be mostly anyway. We would definitly stay here again...maybe just after the construction was over.

we were at provo 2 weeks in early feburary 07. Our first week at a different villa we rented a car and explored the island from end to end. The beach in front of the alexandra is the best (My wife says for her it ties with the kaanapali on maui as the nicest beach we have been to). Another bonus of the location is that there are many restaurants within walking distance, you really do not need a car if you just want to relax. Taxi service is available for a run to the IGA etc. The condo is compact but very comfortable for 2 people. It is new with quality funishings. The staff is friendly and the resort is well maintained.

We loved Provo...set out on our first dive last Saturday and immediately saw a giant manta ray...so cool. Had great dives everyday with Caicos Adventures. They used their big cat to go out each day and took us to West Caicos....loved all the wall dives. Everyone at Alexandra was very nice....we pretty well had the place to ourselves...very quite. We slept great in the room and the construction didn't bother us since we left by 8:15 each morning. The room is small but has everything you need. Very nice marble floors, granite counter tops in bathroom and kitchnette, large glass shower, nice lighting, great view overlooking pool and ocean. The pool is great and lunch at Orchid is nice for a break from sunbathing. Since we were just there four nights, we decided to not rent a car...but probably should have. We wanted to go to Da Conch Shack...but the taxis wanted $25 each way, so we stayed close and walked to Hemingway's and The Palms...we learned from the locals to grab a ride with them for $3 each...so we did that to go to IGA or up to Port of Call. I guess I wouldn't recommend that mode of transportation to just anyone, but we are used to traveling that way in Belize. We also used Uncle Tom's Taxi...he is a darling man, and I promised him we would call him next time we come. Our best meal was at Coco Bistro. It was our understanding it has changed hands, and some folks on our dives recommended it....wonderful romantic atmosphere and very good. Being in the restaurant business we eat the upscale cuisine all the time and wanted some good local curry....Winkie's, between Salt Mill and Port of Call was wonderful home cooking. I have definitely been to some incredible spas all over the world, and The Palms is one of the best.....incredible massage treatment and beautiful amenities, right next door. Earl gave me the best massage I have ever had. We will definitely be back.

July 29-Aug 4 2006. The Alexandra resort is peaceful and the beach is fabulous. The room had just about everything that one could need and was clean and beautiful with a lovely view of the pool and the ocean. Water sports are available right down the beach and there are many restaurants to choose from not far away from the resort. I would definitely stay again.

We just returned from a fabulous stay at the Alexandra Resort! Our family spent 10 days in July and it was the perfect trip. One of the things we loved most about the Alexandra was that it was located on one of the most beautiful stretchs of Grace Bay Beach and yet it was completly uncrowded. There was also a large covered deck overlooking the ocean where we would sit in the evenings and watch the sun setset. Our daughter loved the pool with the swim up bar for her afternoon smoothies. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the Orchid Restaurant, the weekly BBQ on the deck was alot of fun. The studio unit was great. It's brand new with marble floors, granite countertops and teak furniture. I liked having my morning coffee out on the balcony which provided a view of the pool and the ocean. We really enjoyed having a washer, dryer and convection oven in the room. We were pleased to see that the unit was exactly as it was described in the owners website. We would definitely stay there again. My husbad is an avid diver and he spent five days diving. He was impressed with the dive sites and the marine life. He saw sea turtles, eels, dolphins, rays and quite a few sharks including a Hammerhead. One of the highlights of my trip was the spa at the Palms! We also loved the fact that we could walk down to Coral Gardens and snorkle. It was a great reef, we saw rays, Hawkbill turtles and even a Moray eel. My daughter's only disapointment was that we had to leave. Lynn Wypych

I just came back from a fabulous vacation at the Alexandra Resort! The condo that I stayed in was perfect! It had everything I needed: Washer/Dryer, Fridge, Microwave, Toaster, Blender and a little sink area in the kitchen. I was especially grateful for the dryer since it rained for 4 days and I was constantly wet! Inspite of the rain the vacation was just fantastic! I have never seen a beach as beautiful! The water was warm and crystal clear and the sand was a soft powder white. I even brought a pound of sand back with me to remember how great it felt! The beachfront at the Alexandra is better than all the resorts up and down Grace Bay beach. It is not crowded ever and there is always an abundance of lounge chairs and umbrellas waiting for you! The staff at the Alexandra were great. Very helpful and friendly. The owner of the condo was really helpful and gave me a list of places to go, people to get in contact with and some of the better eating hangouts! Thanks! Overall, this vacation was one of the best times I have had in my life! I will definitely be planning on going back in the future!
