Neighborhood Ski Weekend

This is an annual neighborhood ski trip however, our first staying at this cabin. It was wonderful! The cabin is very roomy and met all our needs. Great location, although we needed more snow to walk to the slopes. Looking forward to staying here again. Owners were awesome to work with! Great Cabin!

Loved the house and location. Perfect for families with kids. Everyone has there own space, kids downstairs hanging out and adults upstairs. Large rooms and lots of activities in the house, movies, games...don't forget all there is to do outside too. The mudroom was perfect for coming in and getting out of ski gear, washer and dryer right there for your cold wet ski clothes. We've stayed at other homes in Wintergreen and really enjoyed this one!

This is a beautiful house, attractively and functionally furnished and very comfortable. We had 10 people staying there and it worked beautifully. The property is very well-maintained and was very clean when we arrived. They even provided us with a Christmas tree prior to our arrival. Owners were very cooperative and provided good information. We highly recommend this property, especially if you have a lot of people in your party.

Beautiful house, furnished attractively, comfortably, and functionally. Very guest friendly facility. Property is very well-maintained and was very clean upon our arrival. Owners were very helpful and provided good information. They even provided us with a Christmas tree, put in place prior to our visit. We heartily recommend this property, especially if you need room for a lot of people.

This house was perfect. In the 12 years we have been doing our annual getaway - all of us said that this was the nicest house we have ever stayed in. The ONLY thing that was missing for us was a hottub. We are thinking of trying to rent this same house again!

Great Wintergreen House!

We've stayed at this house about 3 times and every time it gets better. Great location just off the Tyro slope and within walking distance. Great amenities! Foosball is great for unwinding or sitting by the fire watching a movie. Has a large kitchen/dining/family room so everyone can be in the same area without feeling cramped. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to get away for a week/weekend!

We had three families with young children stay for the weekend, and it was absolutely perfect!! Complete with games, toys, baby gates, high chairs and exersaucer- it was a very family friendly house. The kitchen was very well equipped and the binder with restaurants and things to do was very helpful. It was so nice to be so close to the resort... it was right around the corner! We will definitely keep this house in our vacation "musts" and highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation close to the slopes!

Wintergreen Getaway

Gorgeous home! Home away from home! I would highly recommend this rental to families needing to sleep up to 12 people. The mud room was great. There everyone can put their wet boots, skies, jackets. The pictures on the website does not do it justice! The rooms are larger than they appear on the computer. The back side of the house backs up to the woods and while sitting at the kitchen table we saw several deer and at night we had a friendly, fat, clean, raccoon visitor looking for food on the back porch! He was not camera shy nor scared of us. Everyone enjoyed the tubing - a little scary on the first run but after that you can't wait to go down again. Owners are excellent to work with and communication is great thru email.

Super Weekend with Family and Friends at this Awesome House

We were 3 families and stayed at this house January 21-24th. The owner Chris was a delight to speak with and so accomodating! The house is an absolute charm. It is very big with tons of living space to relax with family and friends. The downstairs rec room was outstanding for the kids who ranged from 3 to 15 years old. The 3 master bedrooms were large and very nice and all the other rooms were just as complete. The kitchen and great room with fireplace were great as we all ate and hung out together. The kitchen table was huge - which is what we needed. Our experience at this house was tremendous and all families had a great time as we made new memories together. And to top it all off the snow conditions on the mountain were SUPERB and everyone skiied and snowboarded all weekend. Thank you Chris for a super weekend.

Well-maintained home that was clean and with all needed for a relaxing summer vacation in the mountains! We enjoyed golf, hiking, swimming, going to a peach orchard and the farmers market. This was our 1st visit to Wintergreen...lots of hiking, swimming and other fun activities available. The property was great for our large family with 3 generations...we could even have sit down dinners together at both the indoor and outdoor tables. The home was well stocked with games, toys, videos and books...my only recommendation would be to bring some extra towels if you have a large group. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun mountain getaway!

This was our 1st visit to Wintergreen...lots of hiking, swimming and other fun activities available. The home was great for our large family with 3 generations. The indoor and outdoor tables were even big enough for us to all have sit down dinners together. House was well stocked with games, videos, toys and books. My only suggestion would be to bring some extra towels...with a large crowd, we culd have used a few more. I'd certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a mountain getaway.

my family and i really enjoy this home . it was a lovely spot to go to . it was very different from the other places we went to and we have a lots of fun . the pools were very nice . the staff at the indoor pool were very helpful with find a nice places for us to go to eat for our last nite . they even made reservation for us . i would love to come back . we had more then enough room for everyone to be comfortable. there was 8 of us .

We found this home to be beautiful and wonderfully functional for our gathering of three generations for a week of family time. Lots of space for each family unit to have some privacy and great gathering space for times together. If you are a golfer, be sure to check the resort web site for web specials on golf fees at both courses. Great golf and the web specials really help on price. The deck was a great gathering area and the grandchildren loved being out there. I recommend this place without reservation. Outstanding!

Wonderful home in a great setting. Enjoyed the quiet, the forest, the mountain views. It was a great place for three generations to gather. If you are a golfer, be sure the check the wintergreen website for webspecials on golf fees, especially for Mon- Thur rates. We saved a lot by using these rates. Just tell them you want the webspecial rate when you call to make tee times. We found this to be a beautiful and wonderfully functional home and we would highly recommend this place without reservation! The deck was a great hang out for the grandchildren as well as a great place to enjoy a meal in the outdoors. Guest pass admission to the pools was great as well.

This was our first visit to Wintergreen, VA and we had a wonderful time. There were 11 people in our group of 3 families and we had plenty of room. Each couple had a master and the kids had their own rooms! The Hamilton's home is beautiful, the beds and linens were nice, and the location to the slopes is perfect. Our trip was absolutley memorable. the house was beautiful, and felt just like home. We would not have changed anything (except for spinning around in circles the entire drop on the snow tubbing slope), cant wait to come back, as this will be our new yearly couples retreat. We greatly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home. It was more than enough room for 10 people, we hardly used the rec room. The large kitchen table was great for family dinners and games. The office was a nice bonus, the internet connection had excellent signal strength. The mud room was definitely a necessity to keep the house clean and dry after coming in from skiing. The slopes were a close walk. We left our skis on the slope most of the time with no problems. The only negative was that the slope in walking distance, Tyro, was a blue and some of the first time skiers in our group were unable to ski it. We had to drive them to the greens. Also, Tyro closes at night, it doesn't have lights, but the staff at Wintergreen allowed us to ski to and from the slopes anyway. We told them where the house was and they unallowed us to go under the rope to ski home. Also, thank you for allowing us to use your guest pass to receive 20% off snowsports. We saved over $200 with it!

We just got home from a fabulous weekend at Wintergreengetaway. Despite some bad weather, we all had a wonderful time! The house was perfect! Plenty of room for the 12 of us. We had a great time over Thanksgiving at the Wintergreen Getaway cabin. Chris and Gina were very helpful and informative about the cabin and area attractions. The place is large, but still cozy feeling. We had 12 people there including two infant twins and had plenty of room for everyone. We will definitely stay there again. From what I heard on the news this morning (12-20-09) they just got 33" of snow over the last 24 hours... wish I was there right now!!!

Grandparents, their children and grandchildren enjoyed a long weekend at "Wintergreen Getaway". This house is gorgeous!! It is spacious with plenty of space for adults to relax and kids to play, and it is beautifully decorated. We loved our stay at this beautiful home. It had plenty of room for our two families. Our kids loved the toy closet and movies. The large kitchen table meant we could all eat together easily. The two living areas meant the kids and adults could each enjoy their own areas. The beds were very comfortable. We were able to have enough room to get everyone ready for the slopes in the large mud room. Close to the slopes too. We would love to stay again.

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful our time was at Wintergreen and staying in your beautiful home! We all had the most awesome time and everyone wants to return next year and begin an annual vacation weekend in Wintergreen. There was so much to do for all ages in our family and even those like myself who were happy to hang around and cook for everyone. We loved the large table for gathering and playing games in the evening as well as all the fire wood provided to keep a warm fire going for those around the seating area. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cooking items needed. We loved the extra living area on the bottom floor for the children to have their own space and this is a must for us! The office space was also a real bonus and was of great use as well! We were very pleased with the beauty of being able to see the wonderful view because of all the windows in your home. The morning we had to leave we woke up to a fresh blanket of snow which made us all wish we could stay a little longer! We left the place almost as good as it looked when we arrived so hopefully you will be happy to have us come again! Thanks again

The house is large, open and beautiful. We liked being able to walk to the slopes. A warm lunch of soup and sandwiches is so much better than the cafeteria hot dogs and pizza we usually eat. The mud room was great. It was nice to have a place to store the ski's, boots, coats, etc. The beds are very comfortable. The house easily handles multiple families.

Great vacation spot in Wintergreen. 6 Golfing ladies. 5 minutes from Devils Knob Golf course. Plenty of room for all of us. Very clean home. We also spent some time at the SPA. Had 2 great massages. I recommend the GOLF sports massage. Dawn was a great therapist. We would go again. Thanks Chris

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. We've been renting vacation homes for years, including several at Wintergreen, and this is one of the nicest and most thoughtfully appointed. There's plenty of comfortable space (2 living spaces on separate floors is great with kids!) and the "extras" provided by the Hamiltons (linens, paper products, internet service, local info, kids' toys, etc) made renting a pleasure. Whe Wintergreen Getaway was wonderful. Close to hiking trails and a great spa. I really enjoyed eating on the front porch high above the valley and listening to the wind. The area is away from all traces of city life. The kitchen is very well equiped and I was able to cook many great meals. The computer access allowed me to stay in touch at work without being bothered. Solitude and relaxation were my goals and the getaway was the perfect place.

Wintergreen Getaway was the perfect setting for the "All Girls Weekend." Cooking, laughing, drinking wine and watching chick flicks. . . what could be better. I also highly recommend the Wintergreen Day Spa. Although not all of us signed up for the same spa treatments, we were all able to take advantage of the amenities: walking around in bathrobes, sipping hot tea and relaxing in the spa lounge. We hope to do it again :)
