The BEE HIVE is a true log cabin built in 2000; it is very private with its own stocked lake for fishing. It is located inside the Cherokee National Forest and is located close to lots of activities from gold panning, hiking, fishing & antiquing and has numerous waterfalls. We are minutes away from the famous Cherohala Skwyway and close to the Dragon's Tail - a motorcyclist's dream! It truly is a 'paradise lost' It is not luxurious or large. But as you cross the first creek, you begin to breathe more slowly and all your cares go away. Because we are mountain-top with an amazing 360 degree view and tremendous privacy, you will get your money's worth for this log cabin. Because of it's altitude (2200 ft above sea level) and privacy, be prepared for a 2 mile drive up a mountain road! Coker Creek is very historical, and we have many books written about the area. Hikers love to come here, and the Benton-McKaye trail is only minutes away. Everything in the cabin is modern from the leather sofa with recliners on each end to new porch furniture. Bring your 10 lb or less dog or cat and enjoy the seasons here in Coker Creek. You will want to come back each season. While you are out in the area you will find the most wonderful people from artists to authors who have chosen to make this community their home. If you do not like seclusion and mountain living, this is not for you. If you do, it's Heaven on earth. We have stocked the lake with Bluegill and Bass. It is our vacation home as well as yours, and we love sharing it

. Coker Creek is also close to the Olympic white-water rafting Ocoee lake, Blue Ridge Ga and Murphy North Carolina. The views from the mountains of our area, including the Cherohala, the Bald River Falls, Coker Creek falls, and other mountains are more than comparable to the great Smoky Mountains. We are also not far from the Appalachian Trail. Come sit on the porch and stay awhile. We have the lowest rates for the amenities that are offered.

We enjoy the area very much, and find so much to do that we have to put it on our 'let's do this next time' list. It IS rustic, after all, it's a log cabin through and through. The Cherokee National Forest is our nearest neighbor, so you will not hear 4 wheelers, big trucks nor traffic of any kind. You do cross a creek to get up the mountain, which is delightful to youngsters. You do not need a 4 wheel drive unless it is rainy. Our little Smart car made it many times.

The sunrise and sunset views are undescribable, especially from the hot tub, which is cleaned after every person leaves. We have our own staff who maintain the cabin, and they also serve as your concierge!

The two bedroom one bath home with a wood burning fireplace has provided peace and comfort to those who needed solace; those in grief, those celebrating milestones, those recuperating after surgery, and those who wished to come alone to read, write and regroup. We have been told that the screened in porch swing called out to them early in the morning and late in the evening.

Book today. We have the lowest rates in the area.

This cabin is THE place for those who seek solitude and quiet. The front porch(with a huge homemade swing) faces Unicoi Mountain and the back with the hot tub and new screened porch faces the sunset and Starr Mountain. WINTER VIEWS are 360 degree views with the leaves off the trees. You will hear birds singing, the rustle of wind in the trees, and you may see wild turkey, deer, and wild game. It's hard to describe the uniqueness of this cabin, as it is truly one of a kind. It's called the BEE HIVE and it is decorated with a bee theme. The owners use it as a second home, so all one needs is available. While 3 miles away to the nearest grocery store and gas station, it's still very private with no cars passing, nor horns blowing. Many people do not leave the mountain at all, while others use it as a base to hike, ride motorcycles, and go goldpanning. It's the lowest priced cabin in the area with the most to offer. ....morecollapse

This was our third stay at The Beehive. We cannot ever say enough positive things about this gorgeous, peaceful and comfortable cabin. We keep coming back because we know that we will be able to truly relax here, whether it's sitting on the front porch, hearing the wind roar or sitting in front of a crackling fire

I can't say enough about the cabin and the location. We were looking for a place that was essentially the anti-Gatlinburg, all the beauty minus the crowds and commercialization, well we found it here! We took our four year old twins with us and when we left on Sunday one of them cried and begged we come back again soon, and after staying here a few days how could my husband and I argue with that request! The utter silence and sounding beauty can't be described, like many other reviewers said, it sounds almost too good to be true, well it is not. Breathing in the refreshing air, sitting in the enclosed porch, soaking in the hot tub and just getting away from it all gave our family a trip we had never experienced before. One filled with no rushing, simple relaxing and genuine family time, surrounding by all of nature's beauty. Thank you, bee hive we hope one day to return!

John and Louise, we always read our reviews when we go to VRBO to book a vacation. When we saw your pictures and read your reviews, I told my husband that it just couldn't be that nice. But, I was wrong. I can truthfully say that we literally did not want to leave the cabin. Even though you left brochures of so many wonderful things to do in the area, we were so comfortable just staying, being lazy, soaking up the mid winter sun, using the hot tub, cooking on the smoker, reading books you had left, watching some tv, playing games you had left....why would we want to leave? we rested, prayed, reconnected with each other and renewed our vows. God truly blessed you with this cabin, and you don't really charge enough to recoup your expenses, yet you are so kind to share with others. Simply, thank you.

Wow I'm still speechless. We just got back this am after spending almost 4 days at the Bee Hive. This place is amazing. Nice and cozy, I love the decorations. Very simple but with a nice touch of class. I was blown away by the amenities. Was provided with lots of towels, wash cloths, and every single kitchen utensil you could possibly need. The view's are breathtaking. Watching the sunset from the front porch swing was amazing. I even enjoyed the ride up the mountain. If you are looking for paradise this is the place. It is very clean & organized. I felt sad when it was time to say good bye. Can't wait to come back next year. Thank you Mr & Mrs. Barnes for sharing your paradise with us. God Bless you!

We have been coming to the Bee Hive for several years now, and it has become far and away our favorite getaway. Backing up to the Cherokee National Forest, the peace and solitude it provides really can't be described. There's just nothing more relaxing and refreshing than sitting on the front porch of the Bee Hive at sundown...or seeing first light as it peaks through the trees. The cabin is always clean and well kept, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. We love the fact that in the midst of the peace and serenity, there are so many things to see in the area. It truly is a nature-lover's paradise. When it is time to go home, we hate to leave, and we begin to look forward to our next stay. Nothin' like the Bee Hive. It's just a small taste of Heaven here on earth.

What an outstanding time we had at your cabin home! From the incredible views to the bubbling hot tub, everything was as perfect as can be. So great in fact, we would move in there in a minute! Clean, organized, decorated with loving care, what more could anyone ask for. The comfy bed, the aroma of the fire, the efficient kitchen and the solitude were just what we needed. Not only a screen porch but an open one as well meant we could gaze upon the stars or lounge around in the hot tub or just sit and stare at the surrounding mountains. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise! We want to come back!!

Your cabin was so nice, clean and had everything we needed. The people in the area were so wonderful, there are things to do and see or you can just relax in the cabin. We did both. The lake was a great place to fish with our two boys and just relax. The games/cards were a nice change of the usual watching TV every night. The screened in porch was beautiful in the evenings. The cabin was truly wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing.

Our weekend was wonderful and relaxing! The cabin was modern and updated while being cozy and charming. We felt very welcome here. We absolutely loved the screened-in porch and the beautiful scenery. It had everything we need so we could just sit back and enjoy. We are most definitely going to return, hopefully soon and often!

Owner response: It is so encouraging to hear from the many who enjoy the Bee Hive. IT truly is a place for mental rest and relaxation!

About the owner: We love to go to the cabin to relax. We take Max, our poodle, with us. We have the lake nearby for paddleboating and fishing, and we take our motorcycle and ride the Cherohala or the back roads of the mountains. We've added the screened in back porch and deck, and we have found so many exciting places to hike and visit. We are just plain people who have been blessed with this cabin and we want others to be blessed by it as well.We have met the most wonderful people who have made Coker Creek their home. They have lived all over the world and traveled many miles, yet have decided to live here.

Why the Owner Chose Coker Creek:
We chose the mountains of Coker Creek/Tellico Plains and the Cherohala Skyway because of the small town atmosphere and the quietness of the area. No loud noises, no sounds except for the birds and the gentle winds. No putt putt, no bungee jumpers, no go carts but certainly nice restaurants, fly-fishing, rafting down the river, and just sitting in the river in a lawn chair.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The very nicest thing is not seeing any houses....just looking at the mountains from the front and the back porch. Starting the gravel road and crossing the first creek and seeing the rushing water gives the sense of peace and rest. The next creek you actually drive through, and start up the mountain, and as you pass the mountain laurel and rhododendron you get the sense of finding true peace.
