Location: Coker Creek, East, Tennessee, USA (Near Cherohala Skyway, the Dragon, Ocoee Whitewater rafting) View Map
Accommodations: Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-5)
Keywords: 360 degree view on mountain range near Cherohala Skyway, goldpanning, fishing, lake on property, historical,
The BEE HIVE is a true log cabin built in 2000; it is very private with its own stocked lake for fishing. It is located inside the Cherokee National Forest and is located close to lots of activities from gold panning, hiking, fishing & antiquing and has numerous waterfalls. We are minutes away from the famous Cherohala Skwyway and close to the Dragon's Tail - a motorcyclist's dream! It truly is a 'paradise lost' It is not luxurious or large. But as you cross the first creek, you begin to breathe more slowly and all your cares go away. Because we are mountain-top with an amazing 360 degree view and tremendous privacy, you will get your money's worth for this log cabin. Because of it's altitude (2200 ft above sea level) and privacy, be prepared for a 2 mile drive up a mountain road! Coker Creek is very historical, and we have many books written about the area. Hikers love to come here, and the Benton-McKaye trail is only minutes away. Evey rthing in the cabin is modern from the leather sofa with recliners on each end to new porch furniture. Bring your 10 lb or less dog or cat and enjoy the seasons here in Coker Creek. You will want to come back each season. While you are out in the area you will find the most wonderful people from artists to authors who have chosen to make this community their home. If you do not like seclusion and mountain living, this is not for you. If you do, it's Heaven on earth. We have stocked the lake with Bluegill and Bass. It is our vacation home as well as yours, and we love sharing it with people who will take care of it. Coker Creek is also close to the Olympic white-water rafting Ocoee lake, Blue Ridge Ga and Murphy North Carolina. The views from the mountains of our area, including the Cherohala, the Bald River Falls, Coker Creek falls, and other mountains are more than comparable to the great Smoky Mountains. We are also not far from the Appalachian Trail. Come sit on the porch and stay awhile. We have the lowest rates for the amenities that are offered.
We enjoy the area very much, and find so much to do that we have to put it on our 'let's do this next time' list. It IS rustic, after all, it's a log cabin through and through. The Cherokee National Forest is our nearest neighbor, so you will not hear 4 wheelers, big trucks nor traffic of any kind. You do cross a creek to get up the mountain, which is delightful to youngsters. You do not need a 4 wheel drive unless it is rainy. Our little Smart car made it many times.
The sunrise and sunset views are undescribable, especially from the hot tub, which is cleaned after every person leaves. We have our own staff who maintain the cabin, and they also serve as your concierge!
Book today. We have the lowest rates in the area.

Why the Owner Chose Coker Creek
We chose the mountains of Coker Creek/Tellico Plains and the Cherohala Skyway because of the small town atmosphere and the quietness of the area. No loud noises, no sounds except for the birds and the gentle winds. No putt putt, no bungee jumpers, no go carts but certainly nice restaurants, fly-fishing, rafting down the river, and just sitting in the river in a lawn chair.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The very nicest thing is not seeing any houses....just looking at the mountains from the front and the back porch.
The Cherohala from Tellico Plains TN to Robbinsville NC is a fantastic drive on bikes or car. The movie starring Jodie Foster, "Nell" was partially filmed in Robbinsville. The "Tail of the Dragon -129
less than 3 miles away, a quaint village where you can actually pan for gold
The Ocoee River, where the Olympics were held, is less than 30 minutes away
step back into history with the logging town of Tellico Plains. enjoy homemade breads and pastries at Tellico Grains Bakery.
MOTORCYCLISTS LOVE THE DRAGON. THIS CABIN IS LOCATED CLOSE ENOUGH TO DRIVE IT IN A DAY
Owner's Map of Coker Creek
We love to go to the cabin to relax. We take Max, our poodle, with us. We have the lake nearby for paddleboating and fishing, and we take our motorcycle and ride the Cherohala or the back roads of the mountains. We've added the screened in back porch and deck, and we have found so many exciting places to hike and visit. We are just plain people who have been blessed with this cabin and we want others to be blessed by it as well.We have met the most wonderful people who have made Coker Creek their home. They have lived all over the world and traveled many miles, yet have decided to live here.

Wow I'm still speechless. We just got back this am after spending almost 4 days at the Bee Hive. This place is amazing. Nice and cozy, I love the decorations. Very simple but with a nice touch of class. I was blown away by the amenities. Was provided with lots of towels, wash cloths, and every single kitchen utensil you could possibly need. The view's are breathtaking. Watching the sunset from the front porch swing was amazing. I even enjoyed the ride up the mountain. If you are looking for paradise this is the place. It is very clean & organized. I felt sad when it was time to say good bye. Can't wait to come back next year. Thank you Mr & Mrs. Barnes for sharing your paradise with us. God Bless you!
Owner response:We so want you to come back in Spring or Fall, when the leaves and surroundings are so perfect! Please remind us and we will give you a 10% discount.,. John and Louise

We have been coming to the Bee Hive for several years now, and it has become far and away our favorite getaway. Backing up to the Cherokee National Forest, the peace and solitude it provides really can't be described. There's just nothing more relaxing and refreshing than sitting on the front porch of the Bee Hive at sundown...or seeing first light as it peaks through the trees. The cabin is always clean and well kept, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. We love the fact that in the midst of the peace and serenity, there are so many things to see in the area. It truly is a nature-lover's paradise. When it is time to go home, we hate to leave, and we begin to look forward to our next stay. Nothin' like the Bee Hive. It's just a small taste of Heaven here on earth.
Owner response:Our favorite visitors to the Bee Hive. We love you guys!

What an outstanding time we had at your cabin home! From the incredible views to the bubbling hot tub, everything was as perfect as can be. So great in fact, we would move in there in a minute! Clean, organized, decorated with loving care, what more could anyone ask for. The comfy bed, the aroma of the fire, the efficient kitchen and the solitude were just what we needed. Not only a screen porch but an open one as well meant we could gaze upon the stars or lounge around in the hot tub or just sit and stare at the surrounding mountains. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise! We want to come back!!
Owner response:We want people to feel at home, therefore we spend extra money and energy in making it just so.Thanks for your kind remarks. It truly is a blessing.

Your cabin was so nice, clean and had everything we needed. The people in the area were so wonderful, there are things to do and see or you can just relax in the cabin. We did both. The lake was a great place to fish with our two boys and just relax. The games/cards were a nice change of the usual watching TV every night. The screened in porch was beautiful in the evenings. The cabin was truly wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing.

Our weekend was wonderful and relaxing! The cabin was modern and updated while being cozy and charming. We felt very welcome here. We absolutely loved the screened-in porch and the beautiful scenery. It had everything we need so we could just sit back and enjoy. We are most definitely going to return, hopefully soon and often!
Owner response:It is so encouraging to hear from the many who enjoy the Bee Hive. IT truly is a place for mental rest and relaxation!

The Bee Hive far exceeded our expectations. Even the video did not do it justice. It is very alluring in it's isolation, which is what we were looking for, yet close enough to go down the mountain and enjoy the quaint little town of Tellico Plains, the river, the gold panning, hiking, and fishing. We highly recommend this getaway for recharging your batteries.
Owner response:WE APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK. WE REALLY SHOULD ENTER OUR GUESTBOOK COMMENTS, AS THEY ARE VERY REWARDING, AND THEY GIVE VALUABLE INFORMATION AS TO WHAT EACH GUEST HAS DONE DURING THEIR STAY! LOUISE AND JOHN

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! Would definitely stay there again. Would definitely reccommend it to anyone who wanted to "get away".
Owner response:We agree. The views from the Monroe County/Cherohala Skyway far and away are better than those in Gatlinburg and the Great Smokies! We welcome you back anytime!

We loved staying in this cabin. Everything was so nice and they had everything we needed. We loved the lake and enjoyed how we was far from anything else. We will definately stay again we cant wait to go back and bring friends and family. We stay in alot of cabins in the smoky MTS in Gatlinburg and this beat them by a long shot.. thanks for sharing this wonderful place with us!!

We spent our 10th anniversary here and it's been wonderful. Yes, there are things to do in the area but we never left the cabin. We kept the hot tub and front porch busy. It was better than our honeymoon in Gatlinburg!
