Location: Coker Creek, East, Tennessee, USA (Air Tran has cheap flights to Chattanooga and Knoxville.) View Map
Accommodations: Log Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
The Bee Hive is a log cabin built in 2000; it is very private with its own stocked lake for fishing. It is located inside the Cherokee National Forest and is located close to lots of activities from horseback riding to gold panning, hiking, rapelling,& many waterfalls... We are minutes away from the famous Cherohala Skwyway and close to the Dragon's Tail - a motorcyclist's dream! It truly is a 'paradise lost' ..many of our guests have said they do not want to leave. It is not luxurious or large. But as you cross the first creek, you begin to breathe more slowly and all your cares go away. Because we are mountain-top with an amazing 360 degree view and tremendous privacy, you will get your money's worth for this amazing cabin. Because of it's altitude (2200 ft above sea level) and privacy, be prepared for a 2 mile drive up a mountain road! Coker Creek is very historical, and we have many books written about the area. Hikers love to come here, and the Benton-McKaye trail is only minutes away.

Pet Friendly, Secluded Mountain Cabin
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Coker Creek
We chose the mountains of Coker Creek/Tellico Plains and the Cherohala Skyway because of the small town atmosphere and the quietness of the area. No loud noises, no sounds except for the birds and the gentle winds. No putt putt, no bungee jumpers, no go carts but certainly nice restaurants, fly-fishing, rafting down the river, and just sitting in the river in a lawn chair.
The Unique Benefits at this Log Cabin
The very nicest thing is not seeing any houses....just looking at the mountains from the front and the back porch.
The Cherohala from Tellico Plains TN to Robbinsville NC is a fantastic drive on bikes or car. The movie starring Jodie Foster, "Nell" was partially filmed in Robbinsville. The "Tail of the Dragon -129
Owner's Map of Coker Creek
We love to go to the cabin to relax. We take Max, our poodle, with us. We have the lake nearby for paddleboating and fishing, and we take our motorcycle and ride the Cherohala or the back roads of the mountains. We've added the screened in back porch and deck, and we have found so many exciting places to hike and visit. We are just plain people who have been blessed with this cabin and we want others to be blessed by it as well.

We did not have a car the whole time we were here! It is amazing the sounds you hear when there is truly peace and quiet around you. We felt like guests instead of tenants!

As one of your 'regular's we always enjoy the Bee Hive. We built a fire, played guitar, cooked, drove to the Unico Gap where it all began on the Joe Brown Highway, and got our honey at Seven Sisters!
Positive Rating
THis has been a wonderful getaway! THis was our honeymoon and was perfect to just curl up and enjoy our first week being married. It rained a lot the first 2 days and nights, was great to hear it on the metal roof....and we got a wonderful surprise....SNOW!
Positive Rating
Our first visit to the Bee Hive and we enjoyed getting acquainted with the area. There is so much history and natural beauty. The weather provided us good hiking, exploring and reading time. We had a fabulous day on the Cherohala and a hike in the Joyce Kilmer National Forest. What a treasure Tellico Plains has in the Charles Hall Museum and the Tellico Grains Bakery is a MUST

After a hectic summer we were ready for peace and quiet. THe weather was perfect in September as was the cabin. We enjoyed hiking and actually saw a bobcat in the higher elevation. We read a lot and cooked and enjoyed the solitude
