A secluded quiet, three bedroom hide-away nestled in the maple hardwoods of northern Minnesota. Enjoy the solitude of the north woods lake area on the shores of Shirt Lake. This relaxing retreat home has a primitive 270' shoreline with a private fishing dock and boat tie-up area.
Whether your idea is lying in your favorite recliner reading your favorite book or listening to the call of the loons, sand-hill cranes, bald-eagles, or watching deer or just the natural sounds of nature; this is your place!
The home is a two level walkout with a full vaulted kitchen/dining area, oak cabinetry, double sliding glass doors that access the decks and porch area facing the lake. The main floor has a master bedroom with a king size bed, and a roll-away single bed, with a private deck, plus one additional bedroom (queen bed) and a full bath with jetted tub. A two-car garage and storage area are connected to the main level. We have many yard-games in the garage for your use too.
The lower level walk-out area has a huge family room with a full entertainment center, wet bar area, storage, bath and one bedroom with a queen bed,and a twin-bunk bed area, a queen sofa bed in family room,also a twin size portable bed, as well as a self standing gas fireplace.
The family room has a sliding glass door, which accesses a 480 sq. ft. patio & garden area overlooking an immaculate well-landscaped yard and meditation area. Lawn furniture is provided with a cedar-pole swing set and a fire ring for those evening get togethers. Enjoy the area, which overlooks the lake and wildlife area.
This home has over 2304 sq. ft. of living space and 1152 sq. ft. of covered porch and decks with an attached 504 sq. ft. garage.
Within five miles you can be on an championship golf course or dining at the world famous Ruttger's Bay Lake Resort and Conference Center, or fishing on Mille Lacs; one of the best premiere walleye lakes in the nation! Mille Lacs Grand Casino is only twenty-two miles from our door step. Several other excellent restaurants and golf courses are in the area.
There are dozens of good fishing lakes, including our own 'Shirt Lake'known for great bass, northern pike, sunfish, and crappie fishing. If you enjoy having a fish fry like we do; the best time to catch a fresh-meal of fish off our dock is during the months of May, June and early July. One of the states most famous lakes is Bay Lake, only three miles from our rental, and it has a public lauch facility handy to the our rental on battle point. It is a huge recreational lake offering great watersking,swimming beaches, as well as a great fishing lake. Many visitors trailer their boat to this lake while staying at ' 2 Pines Hide Away'. You can also go by boat to several wonderful eating establishments while enjoying the lake,.
Also consider this destination for your viewing of fall colors; it is beautiful here the end of September and early October. The weather during the peak leave-colors can be the best of the entire year too!
A boat landing is available if you choose to bring your own boat/pontoon or personal watercraft. We offer a 14'fishing-boat and a 17' canoe are available to use free of charge to all guests. You may bring your own out-board motor along for the 14' fishing boat too if you would like!
This vacation destination offers some of the best cross-country trails available, along with direct access from our back yard to the states snowmobile trail system. The local snowmobile clubs have several hundred miles of maintained snowmobile trails adjacent to the property and offer several poker runs on weekends.

Why the Owner Chose Deerwood
We decided on this area of Minnesota after traveling throughout the entire state. This area was choosen for the hard-woods of Sugar-Maple, Oaks, and Birch; along with the dense forest of pine trees. We see several eagles, white-tail deer daily, amoung several other animals.
It's terrain is of rolling hills, dense rich forest areas, and many many lakes withing walking distants of our own 'Shirt Lake' within miles of the famous Bay Lake, Farm Island, and Mille Lacs Lake recreation areas. We are still close to shopping, golfing, the 'Mail of America', and the sea-port of Duluth on Lake Superior (one of the Great Lakes) only two hours away.

Enjoy a day of solitude, beautiful scenery, and some of the finest fishing Minnesota has to offer. Our lake is a trophy Large Mouth Bass Lake and an excellent crappie and sunfish lake!
Go by boat or walk to the sandy beach, by boat just across the bay to an island to swim and enjoy! I am enjoying the day with my two grandchildren, & daugther-inlaw out on the water during a gorgeous day!

We are so happy to hear wonderful things about our vacation lake home. We think it is so unique to be so secluded with this much acreage along the lake, and have so much wildlife around us, and yet be so close to so many activities too. Fishing is always good somewhere on the lake whatever time of the year you spend here, you can always catch a nice meal of fresh fish.

Oh, we do not furnish bar-soap in the vacation rental, but we do have liquid hand-body soap dispensers throughout the rental, that way we do not have to throw the soap away when each party checks-out.

Our group of nine fisherman ranged in age from 14-65 and everyone loved the beautiful unique place! The fishing was excellent and we got a lot of use out of your fishing boat and canoe provided to us free. Your house is very well equipped and we found everything we needed, except a bar of soap. Owner recommends to oar out to the main part of the lake and then you will be able to boat anyplace and do pretty much any type of water sports. The only way to get to our dock at this time is by row-boat or canoe.
