Carissa Cottage is located on Up-Along street midway between the Post Office and the Hopetown Lodge. Built to resemble the original Loyalist cottages in the area, Carissa Cottage is only 12 years old. The Bahamian builders made sure that all of the original charms befitting the 1800 saltbox colonial style cottages were included in the plans. The cottage's focal point is the magnificent screened porch complete with it's Adirondack table and chairs, overlooking both the Hope Town Harbour and its famous lighthouse and views of the Atlantic Ocean. Begin your day with morning coffee on the porch watching the harbour and settlement come to life. In the evening you can enjoy a sunset dinner on the porch as the activity in the harbour settles down for the day. Nights are magical with lights twinkling from the settlement and the harbour and the light from the historic Hope Town lighthouse.
The beach, complete with coral reefs for snorkeling, is across the street and down a flight of steps. If a boat is in your vacation plans, the private dock is just below the cottage. Stroll through the settlement for convenient shopping, dining and nighttime entertainment. For a special occasion, stroll 2 minutes to the Hope Town Lodge to enjoy some of the finest dining on the island.
If cooking is your hearts desire, you will find the kitchen very well equipped for almost any of your needs along with a gas bbq located on the side yard for your grilling needs. The master bedroom has a king size bed with private bath; the downstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds (which can be put together for another king bed) with an adjoining bathroom. The living room has 2 day beds which can be converted into sleeping beds. |
