Carissa Cottage and Hope Town/Elbow Cay were even more beautiful that we could imagine. It was so refreshing to stay somewhere close to the US that wasn't 'resorty' yet everything was on hand and felt very safe. We stayed with our two young boys 5 & 3 who loved the cottage and the view of the lighthouse flashing every night. We all felt right at home straight away and were extremely comfortable in the cottage which had everything we needed plus more. We loved the stunning beaches and exploring the island on our golf cart. We have fallen in love with the beautiful unspoilt simplicity of the island and would recommend Carissa Cottage to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing break in a uniquely beautiful setting.

An excellent cottage , in a perfect location, on a beautiful island. Carissa is in the best location on the island, with the best view of the harbour from the screened porch. and the magnificent ocean practically right off the front door. Easy walk to town, restaurants, grocery stores, shops. Bicycle and golf cart rides to both ends of the island, and the splendor of Tahiti beach at low tide. The owner Nancy, and caretakers Patty and Maria were a pleasure to work with. We attended St James Methodist Church Sunday, the Art Auction and Wine Tasting fundraiser for Hope town School one evening, held at Harbour Lodge, and and met many interesting locals and boaters . One of our trio had a minor neck pain, and visited the Hope Town clinic and was very impressed and happy with the experience. What a great week we had. We visited Marsh Harbour and also Man of War to purchase canvas bags to match those purchased on our trip last year. We really had a wonderful relaxing time and can't say enough `good thi ngs about our vacation. Abaco,Bahamas is the place to visit, and Carissa Cottage is the place to stay.We will be back!!!

My Girlfriend and I just returned from a truly magical weekend at Carissa cottage. Nancy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Her caretakers were there waiting for us as soon as we got off the ferry and made us feel right at home. The home itself is absolutely charming and perfect. It feels cozy and comfortable just right for a beach house and has an amazing lanai. The kitchen is fully stocked and the internet and direct tv worked perfectly. Carissa cottage is in the perfect location right on the harbor and you are steps away from the grocery store, restaurants, ice cream, and our favorite munchies (where we got conch everyday!) Our last night there I watched a fisherman coming in on his boat "Local Boy" and bought some mahi mahi he had caught and cooked an amazing meal on the cottage's brand new grill. Perfect end to a perfect weekend. Thanks Nancy and we'll see you again real soon!

What a fabulous Cottage! We enjoyed every night on the porch, watching the sun set and the lighthouse start up. We wanted for nothing. We'll definitely be back next year. Thank you for all of your attention to details.

We loved Carissa Cottage. The location was perfect. The view of the Harbour and Lighthouse was fantastic. The cottage was comfortable,very clean and well maintained. We loved eating meals on the back porch. Location was great for walking to the Settlement.

My husband and I, along with our 5 year old son, spent 10 glorious days here in Jan 2010. I had never been to hopetown before and we had a romantic vision of Carissa Cottage and Hopetown but were not sure what to expect. All I can say is WOW!!!. The cottage was fantastic to say the least. We were so impressed with how well the space was used and how lovley the cottage was. It was clean and well cared for. The caretakers were lovley and a great help. I must say that the location of the cottage is PERFECT!!!. The nights on the poarch sipping cocktails and frying fresh fish on the BBQ, playing games all night is something we reminesce about often. My son loved riding in the golf cart to Tahiti beach and exploring the island. You can't get any better than this. We will be back. Debbie---Ontatio, Canada

Carissa Cottage has become even more appealing with each visit. We have stayed there once or twice a year for the past six years. Wonderful owners have supplied the cottage with everything that you need to feel at home. They have meticulous caretakers and everything is perfect when you arrive. The large screened porch that overlooks the lighthouse and harbour has the best view in town. Walking distance to almost everything. Several fine dining restaurants will pick you up for dinner if you want to go to the other end of the island. The private boat dock is so convenient if you want to rent a boat for a few days or bring your own. The beautiful beach is just steps away. Can hardly wait to go back in October 2010.

Carissa Cottage is the best cottage in all of Hope Town. We've now returned for the 3rd year in a row. The location is fabulous - overlooking the harbor, close to the beach and to town. The owners attention to detail including decor, amenities and caretakers to help is superb. The view from the screened porch is the best in the entire harbor! Thanks for a fabulous place to stay and relax away from the world for a while. We loved the porch! So fun to observe all the activities in the harbour and see our favorite lighthouse come to life each night. Hope Town is always an adventure and now have a newly found cottage in paradise to return to ... we'll be back!

Carissa Cottage was an ideal spot for our 7th trip to Hope Town. We first came in 1992 and have returned to enjoy all if offers - beautiful beaches, fishing, snorkeling, Vernon's great pies, Cap't Jack's, Tahiti Beach etc. Your home is beautifully done and we were very comfortable. Looking forward to our next visit.
