We celebrated our first anniversary at the Little Stone Cottage and enjoyed the time so very much!!! Everything was clean and comfortable and there was just about every convenience you could want. We stayed a weekend and definitely didn't run out of things to do! The little surprises make it extra special. We would certainly recommend it to anyone. I've never heard of anyone who got to the end of their life and regretted investing too much in their marriage... It's precious and worth it!!!
Owner response:It is our privilege to honor marriage and the creator of it. Celebrating this choice creation brings delight to God who made the woman for the man. A lifetime marriage between one man and one woman is "a truly sacred union." We love seeing couples savor the quiet romantic ambiance and "little surprises" that make this place one of a kind. Thanks Dave and Julie for trusting us to provide a rendezvous for this special first anniversary and investing in your marriage here. Thanks also for recommending it to others. We are blessed when marriages are strengthened and love storage batteries, run down by the drain and strain of the daily cares, are recharged. Roman and Lucy

My wife and I were very pleased and thoroughly enjoyed our four day stay at this cottage for the first time. We would not hesitate to stay again if we visit this area of Pennsylvania in the future. The accommodations are accurately depicted and described. The cottage is spotless, everything was in good working order, plenty of amenities, nicely decorated and has good lighting. And the value for all that is provided is very good. We were given enough breakfast food for our entire stay and more is available upon asking. All of it was very good. We highly recommend this cottage to those who think they would like to stay here after reading the writeup from Roman and Lucy.

Being the parents of four now grown children we had not had a chance to get away just the two of us for almost the entire 25 years we've been married. After reading the reviews of previous guests at the Little Stone Cottage we came with great expectations. We found the place to be everything advertised and more. I will always remember the sound of horse shoes hitting the road outside the living room on Sunday morning as Amish Families headed to church. The entire area is beautiful. We recommend taking the back way to the cottage. You will see farms and fields that will take your breath away. The cottage is only 8 miles from Intercourse and Bird in Hand. We thouroughly enjoyed learning about the people who have made this area such a wonderful place to visit. We highly recommend this listing for any couple who is trying to focus or in our case refocus on each other. Our hosts made this so easy to do. We look forward to returning to this cottage sometime in the Fall or Winter of the year.
Owner response:We thank you for enjoying this secret spot in Lancaster County and reviewing it for other guests. It is truly off the beaten path but close to real country action and still very quiet. When we were thinking about doing this it was a question about it being too close to the road but one of the favorite places of summer guests is the front porch. With buggies passing by and surrounded by real working Amish farms this is a treat for weary couples who need to be refreshed! With computers and TV who has front porch time nowadays? We spare you from both here and you can really connect!

Celebrating our first wedding anniversary at the cottage, my husband and I were truly blessed to spend a weekend here. We both work in the city and this was a time for us to unwind, reflect on the past year and set future goals without all the distractions. The cottage was exactly as described in the online brochure - welcoming and relaxing – the rose petals, music playing upon entering the home, the organic prepared food. Who knew that there was such a peaceful place so close to home. We look forward to celebrating future anniversaries at the Little Cottage. Thank you Mr. Roman and family for your hospitality at the cottage. May God continue to bless you and your family. ~Steve and SaConda

This is a terrific place to go with your spouse to spend some time with just the two of you. Great setting for getting to know each other again annd learning new things about each other even after many years of marriage. The pictures as beautiful as they are do not do the cottage justice, the area is gorgeous and all around relaxing. We loved and enjoyed our entire stay here.

Wow! What a blessing the Little Stone Cottage is to married couples. We were delighted from the moment we pulled into the driveway and made our way through the cottage as well as the grounds. Everything is beautiful inside and out. The cottage has everything you'll need for your getaway, including breakfast items and snacks....delicious! My husband really enjoyed the yogurt and raw milk. The special touches were a surprise and added to the cottage's charm and atmosphere, and we so enjoyed saying good morning to the little Amish children as they made their way down to the schoolhouse just beyond the cottage. They were precious. Roman and Lucy, the owners, are kind and helpful. Be sure to meet them. You'll definitely want to thank them for their ministry and how they've blessed couples in such a unique way. We're already planning our next stay!
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words. We enjoy sharing our unique slice of Lancaster Co. with people from all over. Except for May 10 through-August 25th school Amish children pass the cottage twice a day on school days. We enjoy wowing our guests with the romance and special touches that this place is known for. Hebrews 13:4 is our mantra at the Little Stone Cottage. Try blessing your marriage by investing in some special time here with your marriage covenant lover! Roman

My husband and I both fell in love with the cottage! It was exactly what we needed, the perfect place to spend our anniversary and reconnect as husband and wife. Thank you so much for all the little personal touches and inviting us to worship with you Sunday morning. We loved relaxing in the hot tub and by the fireplace in the evenings. The raw milk and yogurt from the farm was delightful along with the granola and fresh eggs. We'll definately be returning as soon as time allows. God bless, Gina & Ken

This family is a blessing! What a nice feeling to know your helping someones relationship by the hands of God. Thank you so much Roman and family. You made our stay so sooo special! This cottage will always hold a place in our hearts. Hoping to return ASAP! When we arrived there was rose peddles outside of the door... that lead all the way up to the bedroom. Music sounded the whole cottage. Candles lit... everything was so fairytail! We couldn't ask for better. This family really knows how to make you feel so special.
Owner response:We can never bless someone without being blessed ourselves. Thanks for allowing us to bless you these few short days. Pampering marriage is what the Little Stone Cottage and it's real owner "God" does so well, as He invented it and as we honor His creation we receive so much of His favor on our lives! Who would want to live without it? Good marriages, = good families= good communities= a blessed nation. What a merry-go- round of blessings? It is very much a God thing!

We had a Really inspiring 20th Anniversary together, it was a great time alone with each other with no distractions. We have 8 dearly loved children who were almost as excited for us. We could finally experience for a time how it is to be "All There" "All the Time" for each other!! The hot tub was great too as well as the massage table and fireplace. Everything was nice, neat and tidy. We want to go back again sometime for sure! Thank You God for making it Great and for creating us in a way that we can feel Love! Thanks Roman & Lucy for making our stay everything it could be.
Owner response:Thanks for your kind words and for taking advantage of the opportunity to come to The Little Stone Cottage and invest in your marriage here! We hope you can return at some point and relax and be "all here all the time again." Every amenity here was intended to bless and enhance couple time and allow you to return to the real world rested, relaxed and ravished! Life is just more doable with the love tank full! We were so blessed to spend the weekend at The Little Stone Cottage. Words cannot convey the peace and tranquility we experienced. We were reminded again of why God chose to put the two of us together. Everything about the weekend made it feel like a second honeymoon rather than just a weekend getaway. Our love has been renewed and our joy restored! Thanks, Roman and Lucy, for your wonderful hospitality. God puts people in our lives for His purpose. We feel so priviledged to have met you and your lovely family. Thank you for allowing us the honor to worship with you at Mine Road Amish Mennonite Church on Sunday morning. That alone was worth the trip. I've never heard a more beautiful sound than the congregation praising God in perfect harmony. May God pour forth His blessings on each of you. We are looking forward to our next trip!
Owner response:Thank you for the very kind words! We are humbled to see God use this little cottage to remind married couples of His blessing on marriage. Investing time into your marriage is a good idea and the reason the cottage is here ; To provide a special place to truly reconnect, body, soul, and spirit.

Owner response:Thank you for being adventuresome enough to float on the round bed. Because of preference for a regular bed, by our guests we removed it. Most enjoyed it but not everyone. Maybe at some point it will be a choice in another cottage....

What a great getaway. We celebrated our 35th anniversay aug 17-19. The moment we walked in the door we felt like we were home, the only thing different was it was just the two of us. ALONE AT LAST! The hot tub and massage table was our favorite, along with all the homemade goodies. We enjoyed the quiet evenings on the porch. We didn't even miss the tv. The love and peace of God filled the place. We took his peace home with us. Thank you for your wonderful ministry to married couples. Hope to see you next summer!
Owner response:Thank you for the kind words and God bless you as use the peace you got here and pass it on to others. We can provide a getaway but only God gives peace. God gives his peace and blessing as a couple seeks it by blessing each other with generous love as God intended. There's always more peace in a household when a husband and wife take time to truly connect with each other. That is a decision you make and an investment of time on your part, then peace is a result you take with you. God bless you as you keep the peace he gave you by deep heart sharing with each other.

We had high expectations for this little cottage, and I must say they were far exceeded. From the moment we stepped in the door, it was calm and peaceful and beautiful. We loved so many things about the cottage, from the beautiful decorating, to the Hershey kisses around every corner, the obvious thoughtfulness that went into making a great weekend and more. We loved the yogurt and granola the fridge was stocked with, and we especially loved eating it on the back deck while watching the horses graze in the nearby field. There was lots to do at the cottage, and even more just a few miles away if you wanted to venture out. My husband was a big fan of the homemade bread that was waiting for us upon arrival -- that didn't last long, but the memories we built in the little stone cottage will! We hope to return again in the future!

The Little Stone Cottage was exactly as advertised and so much more! The location is wonderful, peaceful and quiet. Just about the only noise was the clip-clopping of horses as the Amish buggies went by throughout the day. The cottage itself is beautiful. The place is very clean and well maintained. A lot of care has been put into the layout and the amenities. It is definitely a couples' paradise! It is close enough to Lancaster shopping and other attractions, but still far enough away to make you forget all about all that and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the country. The property owners have gone to great lengths to ensure your stay is very comfortable. They offer milk, yogurt, granola, grape nuts and eggs from their own organic farm and it is all very good. We received a phone call from the property owner while we were there to be sure everything was to our liking, but we didn't even have to think about anything not being to our liking because everything was perfect! We would definitely recommend this property to married couples looking for a quiet, peaceful, romantic place to stay. A+++++++++++!!!!!!!!
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words. Our intention is for couples to enjoy each other while resting from the daily grind, drawing closer to God, and each other. We call that romance! Roman and Lucy

We fell in love with The Little Stone Cottage the moment we arrived. The cottage is anything but "little" for the 2 of us. The cottage was so romantic...you cant help but fall in love with your partner all over again. Everything in the house is top-notch. This was a completely stress-free vacation for us where we were able to focus on what really mattered - our relationship. The Stoltzfoos thought of everything in the cottage. There were robes, massage oils, a laundry basket, plenty of towels, hairdryer, and enough candles to illuminate the entire house. The best part was meeting the Stoltzfoos'. They are such kind, generous people. We are already looking ahead to see when we can stop by again for a long-weekend. Thank you, Roman & Lucy, for creating this wonderful place. Your thoughtfulness and love shows in every inch of the house.

This was a surprise 10th anniversary trip for my husband. From the moment we arrived it was instant relaxation. Every corner we turned brought a new surprise. The beautiful grounds, the immaculate way the home is kept, the wonderful homemade goodies and all of the attention to every little detail made us feel as if we were guests at an exclusive five star resort. But, it is even better than a resort because it was our own private get away and all of the little extras were ours alone to enjoy. We had plans to eat out and do a little exploring of the local area but found we were so content and relaxed there that we never left. We also enjoyed hiking around the wooded trails. The Little Stone Cottage is truly the best place to relax and reconnect with nature and the one you love away from the hustle and bustle of the "real" world. Roman, Lucy, Charlene and family, we wish you continued success with your ministry and the organic getaway you have all poured so much love and detail into. We will be back. Walking through the door for the first time was like stepping into a welcome hug from God, and He didn't let go! Never have we stayed somewhere so beautiful and clean, so intimate and restful! Never have we felt more loved and cared for. We were surrounded with peace and beauty and blessing at every turn. Everything was amazing and beyond our expectation. We had so much fun! We ate well, laughed often and loved much! The fresh milk, eggs, yogurt, granola and home-made bread were an added bonus! It was difficult to leave, but we have great memories to keep us until our next visit. To the Stoltzfoos family, we bless you and thank you for your warm hospitality, excellent service, tender care, and for this wonderful ministry! We spent a wonderful week at the Little Stone Cottage in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary. The cottage and surrounding area was everything we hoped it would be. The Stoltzfoos family goes well out of their way to make staying here a wonderful experience. When we arrived we found fresh organic milk, eggs, bread, yogurt, apples and sweets. This cottage is very private and serves well to create the environment to relax and renew marriage relationships. We thoroughly enjoyed the buggies which come by the house daily. A one-room school house is just down the street and Amish children walk to and from there. We plan to go back as often as possible. It was very well worth our drive!

This visit was our 30th anniversary honeymoon. The Little Stone Cottage was everything we had imagined it to be and then some. As we walked in the door we were greeted with soft music and rose petals. Inspirational messages adorned the cottage walls, library and music selections. The setting of the cottage was so peaceful and the grounds are wonderfully designed and landscaped. The hot tub we used every day and evening. The Cottage is extremely well designed and decorated. It felt like home to us. The breads, milk and vegetables from the farm were absolutely delicious. Roman and Lucy and their family are wonderfully nice. We joined the family at their church for Bible study and services. Even though we are not Mennonites we were made to feel welcome in the fellowship of faith, and of their congregation. Roman and Lucy asked us to join them for lunch after service. After a most delicious lunch we shared a wonderful period of friendship and fellowship. Helen and I hope to return for another visit to the Little Stone Cottage.

Simply Enchanting Cottage. We were both magically swept away from the momment we entered the door. From the soft music playing, to the rose petals on the couch, to the heart shaped choc. cakes. The little touches were aboundant throughout the inside and outside as well. Peeking out the window we enjoyed the scenery including the tree swing and horses galloping. Purely a serine setting to reconnect with the one you love. It only took us minutes to clear our heads and open our hearts to the blessing of being able to enjoy such a charming, cozy cottage. Thank you for sharing your beautiful retreat. Carl & I will definately be returning for our 10 yr anniversary. Many blessing to you & your family.

WOW !!!! Every detail is thought of here. This truly is a wonderful place to relax and refresh. We enjoyed eating Sunday breakfast and watching the amish buggies on their way to church. Thank you for a haven for couples to go to be blessed.

Outstanding place. Could not ask for a better place. Truly a remarable place to get away from the city life. Great place for a honeymoon...even though we've been married 21 years! The atmosphere was set from the moment we stepped inside. Great touches Charlene! Can't wait to come back! Be assured we've shared our experience with our friends and family.

You don't have to be a christian to enjoy this wonderful cottage. Anyone who would just like some time alone to reconnect with their spouse and leave the world behind should plan their stay. The cottage is beautifully decorated, has lots to do, special touches and absolutely spotless. On top of everything else wonderful owners. With our luck we booked the cottage during 2007s first significant snowstorm. We did make our way there and Mr. Stoltzfoos kept in touch with us along the way. He even told us to call him if the road was bad and he'd meet us with the tracker! Now would the manager of the holiday inn do that? I not only recommend the Little Stone Cottage, but plan on going back myself.

We loved the little stone cottage. We can't wait to go back. All the little things they thought of made our stay awesome. A big thanks to the Stoltzfoos family. A great place for couples to get away. It's everything we thought it was and more.

The Little Stone Cottage is a perfectly beautiful retreat for Christian couples. Larry and I went for our 15th anniversary. We pray we will be able to return every year to celebrate.

Wonderful experience! We hope to make this a new family tradition. Thanks for the chocolates and the organic milk and the fresh baked bread and all the other little extras. The cottage is beautifully restored. God bless.

Just happened to stumble on this wonderful gem. Every year since we got married my wife always wants to head to Lancaster to celebrate our anniversary. The cottage had everything and the wonderful atmosphere with the horse and buddies going by just helps to slow things down in our fast paced life. Highly recommended to anyone wanting quality and peace and quit. It will be a regular stopping spot for us.

Roman and Lucy have provided the most relaxing atmosphere possible in this "little stone cottage." The moment you enter their property, your day to day duties flee from your mind and you are transported to a place where you can completely enjoy the countryside. From the double car garage(with pool table and ping pong table)to the hot tub on the back deck, all the "creature comforts" you will need to relax. Sights and sounds of the country enable anyone to simply unwind and enjoy quality time with their spouse.

A respite from the busyness of life... A reminder of the things that really matter... A place for renewal and quietness and joy...Thanks to Roman and Lucy for providing the Little Stone Cottage. From the beauty of the countryside to the wonderfully decorated interior of this special house...from the fresh cream and yogurt and other surprises to the inviting bed room, hot tub, and fireplace; everything was provided to make our stay memorable. We will definitely be back!

We just returned from a week at Little Stone Cottage. There are no words to describe the sheer pleasure and peacefulness of this unique romantic retreat. My husband and I were overwhelmed by the many ammenities offered here as well as the perfectly appointed rooms designed to create an atmosphere of peacefulness and oneness between us. The Stoltzfoos', with the help of the Lord have succeeded in creating the perfect get-away for a couple to rejuvenate and reconnect with each other and with God.
