We would like to welcome you to our home away from home. We visit Maui several times each year and love spending time in our beautifully redecorated condo. We are former Maui residents and we chose to purchase at Kam Sands due to the proximity to great beaches, restaurants, and activities on Maui.
This is an inviting one bedroom, two bathroom unit with granite counter tops, floor to ceiling mirrors, custom ceiling fans, appliances, pictures and tile. Even the lanai has been tiled rather than the typical outdoor carpet in most units. The concrete construction allows for a very quiet experience. We even put wands in the showers so you can get the sand out.
Our unit has been remodeled extensively with the updates being done every year. We hired professional faux painters, Viking Studios, out of Whitefish, MT to come in and spend 9 days helping us redesign the feel into a true island experience. With new fixtures, 100% wool hand woven rugs, hand carved mahogany entertainment center, designer palm lamps, faux paint, ceiling fans, new TV/DVD, new king bed, new A/C in living and master, new washer and dryer and several pieces of new furniture and art, you will be hard pressed to find a more unique and whimsical unit on the island.
In 2009 we put in a new Samsung LCD HDTV, new Phillips DVD and a wonderful new bookshelf stereo. We had Island Upholstery and Window Coverings install plantation shutters in the master so you could get natural light and still have privacy, as well as beautiful bamboo shades in the living room with a "black out" liner for the night. Maui Closets just installed a custom designed and Maui built wall bed with a queen sized Serta mattress, lights, shelves and night stand. The entire unit is made of cherry and created by the artists at Maui Closet Company. It is spectacular and far more comfortable than a pull out sofa. We also just replaced the couch and tables to give it more of a "Tommy Bahama" feel.
Our condo is in building number five which is one of the most sought after buildings in the complex. You are close to everything in the complex, but far enough away to not hear road noise. Enjoy the beautiful view down through the gardens with just a hint of ocean view from your private lanai. We are not near the elevator or garbage chute, and you can walk less than 50 yards to the pools and hot tubs.
There is also a television/DVD(with cable) in the master suite in addition to the new LCD HDTV, DVD and stereo in the living room. It is very well appointed with extras like an iron, hair dryer, tupperware, kid friendly cups, sharp knives, spices, coffee cups, blender, toaster, etc. We leave the lanai closet open with boogie boards, beach mats, coolers, chairs, and two bins of floaties and toys.
Kamaole Sands is a very nice property that has been voted "Best Condominium on Maui" by the travel industry three times. The location right on the Kihei/Wailea border is tough to beat!
The location of our condo allows for a short walk to world famous Kamaole Beach. The warm clear water is ideal for snorkeling or enjoying the family friendly waves. It is a lush, 15 acre property that truly represents the Aloha spirit. The pool area was recently renovated and the decking was replaced with beautiful flagstone. You will find two jet spas, a large pool and a children's wading pool. You will be walking distance to many shops and restaurants and some of Maui's only lifeguard supervised beaches. Several world class golf courses, resorts and restaurants are minutes away. For the price, you won't find a better value on Maui.

This is our 2nd time visiting Maui and our 2nd stay at Kamaole Sands. This unit is better, in a quieter location, than the unit we stayed in last time. It is very conveniently located next to the pool and, of course, walking distance to the beach which is great (we walked there to watch the sunset and stroll the beach almost every evening). This was very nicely furnished with extras that we appreciated (spices, measuring cups/spoons, baking dishes, mixing bowls, etc). Our only minor complaints/things we missed are: the bed was not really comfortable, we woke up stiff each morning; no oven mitts in the kitchen, we made lasagna one night and had quite the adventure figuring out how to get it OUT of the oven when it was done; and both of us stepped on the carpet tacks going from the master bedroom to bathroom at least once (ouch!). Other than those minor issues, we had a fabulous time and wouldn't hesistate to stay in this unit again. Also, Ed was very accomodating and easy to work with - mahalo! I also wanted to add, for those planning on visiting, the things we really enjoyed that we did this trip: whale watching - Pacific Whale Foundation is EXCELLENT and we had a great time; zipline - the canopy tour with Piholo Ranch was SO fun and the guides were awesome; surf lessons - Keith at Goofy Foot Surf School was a fun, informative instructor; and last but not least: Warren & Annabelle - a must, must, must see!

I'm sorry the bed didn't work for you, it is less than two years old and hotel quality but it may be a bit soft for some. As for the carpet tacks, that is news to us and we will get those fixed ASAP! We stayed in your condo during our trip to Maui to get married in July '11! We loved the first floor location and the convenience to the pool. Everything in the condo was great, and the bed was very comfortable. The A/C in the bedroom made a huge difference in our sleeping comfort and was much appreciated! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful condo and we hope to stay in your slice of heaven again soon!

Your condo has a very homey feel to it. John loved the Internet service he tends to live on his computer. I liked the island decor it made the condo feel like the Paradise we are in. I feel the locations was wonderful. Very convenient to both the pool and the walk to the beach (which we walked everyday). We especially liked that being that close to the pool we still didn't hear the pool noise or people walking back and forth. It was very quiet.

To say that this is an absolutely beautiful condo would be an understatement. We really lucked out! It is amazing!! A home away from home sure nails it on the head. Our trip was spur of the moment decision so I didn't hope for too much so this was such a pleasant suprise.

We can't thank you enough for making this trip to Maui so memorable. It was the first time we came here with our young daughter, and your child-friendly condo helped her stay to be so enjoyable. She go much use out of the sand toys in the lanai closet, and mom and dad enjoyed the beach chairs as well.
