Ideal Location, both for Beach-Bums and for Triathletes

We brought a large entourage of family and friends (12 in all) for a stay at this property and another unit in the same development for just over two weeks in late November, leading up to the Cozumel Ironman triathlon on 11/27. The location was ideal for pre-race training, and for race-day spectating. The unit itself was clean and comfortable, well-maintained and enjoyable. The views from the outdoor terrace are as wonderful as the posted photos suggest, especially for quiet cup of coffee at sunrise and for a wind-down beverage at sunset. Our three grown kids especially enjoyed the availability of the on-property pool and beach areas for lounging and sunning, as well as the convenience of several lunch/snacking options within a few minute's walk, at Playa Uvas Beach Club and Varaderos Restaurant. Also, Chankanaab Park, with its many eco-tourism and dolphin-watching opportunities, is just a few minute's walk the other way. The only minor drawback to the property's location turned out to be getting a taxi in the evenings, when we wanted to head downtown to dine and shop. At most other times, taxis are plentiful on both sides, either at Chankanaab or at Uvas. Bob and Diane provide a very helpful and detailed "local info" book, with reviews of their favorite eateries and sights on the island. We worked our way through most of these over our 2-week stay, and found them to be quite accurate. Several minor maintenance issues arose while we were in this property, but these were handled in a speedy, effective way by Jordi, Bob's on-site property manager. In summary, we were very pleased with our choice of this property and this location, which served us quite well both as a triathlon training venue and as a great spot for a beach-centered family vacation. Bob and Diane could not have been more accommodating and supportive, and we look forward to our return visits.

Exceeded our expectations!!! Our 10th Anniversary Trip - March 18-27, 2010

The owner Hippie Bob was a pleasure to deal from start to finish. All communication with this owner was fantastic. Every question or concern leading up to this trip was dealt with immediately and in such a friendly manner. We liked the fact that someone met us at the airport upon arrival and escorted us to the complex and up to the unit. A cell phone and land line were made available to us. The unit itself was exactly the way it was described, very clean and comfortable with those million dollar views! The complex is also very well maintained, the pool and beach area were cleaned on a daily basis. What my husband and I loved the most about this place was the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. I loved the snorkeling right off our beach. The water was crystal clear and there weren't any under currents to contend with. Every time I went in I saw something new. We also had the resident Chef Francisco cook our dinners for us the entire time we were there. He made our trip that much more memorable. He prepared authentic Mexican food in our condo and would give us a history of all of the dishes. He also arranged a private fishing/snorkeling excursion for us that was fantastic! (Chef Francisco even prepared a dish with the fish we caught!) Because of the location of this complex it would be wise to rent a vehicle. We rented a jeep through lesspay and it worked out well. We liked the fact that we were away from the clubs and market area as it provided us with the quiet we wanted. It is just a short drive to the main shops and restaurants. It was hard to leave this place and we plan on returning as soon as we can. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone!

We just returned from Cozumel and stayed at Hippie Bob's Penthouse for eight wonderful days/seven nights. We had the best time. The condo was JUST as he described it. The view was absolutely overwhelming! The location was outstanding as well. It was out a little ways but yet not far from the action either. We would definitely stay here again.
