Great little townhouse but read the fine print!

This was the 5th year that our group of 10 volleyball players have rented a house for the King of the Mountain tournament in June. We were pretty excited when we arrived to this cute little townhouse since as you can see from the pictures, the views are amazing. The house is roughly a 10 minute drive from Vail Village and conveniently located to the bus stop. Unfortunately when we started claiming rooms, we found out that the house does in fact sleep 10 but only if 2 people crash on the couches in the living room as neither pulled out into a bed. There was a small cot in the master bedroom closet but the mattress was 2 inches thick and not comfortable. Otherwise the house was very comfortable, clean and had most of the dishes, etc. that we needed (bring your own corkscrew). The hot tub was fantastic and even in pouring down rain, we enjoyed the views. One downside is that check out time was listed at 10:00am and 3 of the group were not able to vacate on time. The maid arrived at 10:20 and immediately started cleaning. We departed shortly after however the owner decided to keep $100.00 from our deposit because of our late departure as he stated that the maid needed to bring in extra help and we weren't able to start a load of laundry to help the cleaning staff. To be fair, the checkout time and request for us to start the laundry was stated in the contract however I though $100.00 was a little steep for not complying and when I stated as much to the owner, I recieved no response. All in all this house was very reasonably priced and would be perfect for a group of 8. However I'm uncertian if I'd rent this house again as I've had better experiences in the past elsewhere.
Owner response:We have been renting this house for over 5 years and have only a handful of complaints. We are very organized and do everything we can to accommodate everyone. When problems to arise we commit all reasonable resources to address the issues quickly. In most cases we are flexible with checkout times. However, when we have “back to back’ renters the cleaning crews need to start before 11:00am and expect that the guests checking out have followed the agreed terms in the rental agreement. There is no fine print! If the cleaning crew finds the house in state that is far worse than expected, additional help is brought it so that the group checking in can start their vacation at the promised time. I am sorry if this group feels it is unfair, but not addressing the issue quickly would mean be being unfair to the next group.

Such a fun stay and perfect house to hold a group setting. House is located right by the bus stop that takes you to anywhere in Vail including the slopes. As for the house, the kitchen is very useful and layout of the dining room and family room are all open together so everyone can be together and enjoy each other's company. The Hot tub is perfect and having the majority of rooms on the bottom floor provides a quite place to sleep. Can't wait to spend another couple days there!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Excellent property with all the features needed to enjoy a nice vacation at Vail. Very private and quiet area. We were a group of 7 young adults and there was a place for everyone. Very spacious. The garage is definetely a big plus. The jacuzzi smoking hot. For my next Vail trip a would definetely consider staying here again. We had a great time!! Thanks!!
