La Canonica is an attractive property at the bottom of the town of Cortona which is only four kilometres away. As its name suggests, it is the presbytery (“canonica”) of a small 11th century church that still forms the back part of the house. Restoration has given the house a particular charme showing the owners’ taste and the cosmopolitan personality, easily spotted from the many international books which can be found in the house, a romantic tunnel embraced by creepers embellishes it. The whole property is fenced in and the presence of trees helps to ensure the clients’ privacy. The house is simply but functionally furnished and is suitable for a clientele wishing to have a troublefree holiday close to nature and history
PARK: the garden is about one thousand five hundred square metres with a beautiful lawn. The graveled area before the house has a dining table protected by the shade of an old tree.
SWIMMING POOL: open from last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October, the pool measures 12,00 x 6,00 m with a depth varying from 1,10 to 2,10 m. The pool is surrounded by the lawn and has deckchairs, sunshades and shower.
INTERIOR: La Canonica has three floors connected by an antique sandstone staircase. Almost all windows look out over the garden. Ground floor: the entrance door leads directly to the living room, kitchen and dining room. Although a single room, it is well divided into the various zones with a beautiful worktop with sink, stove and dishwasher. Next to the kitchen is a small porch, ideal for summer meals provided also with an antique wood burning oven. Behind the porch there is a small storeroom housing the washing machine.
A twin bedroom with joinable beds and a small bathroom with shower complete the ground floor.
First floor: a twin bedroom with joinable beds with en-suite bathroom with shower and a large double bedroom with dressing room and en-suite bathroom with tub. In this room a satellite TV and video recorder are provided.
Second floor: A study leads into a large double bedroom with en suite bathroom with tub.
