The Silverado Beach House is a waterfront vacation and holiday home rental on the eastern shoreline of Clear Lake near the City of Clearlake in northern California. It is prepared with the family vacation in mind!

The beach house features a great private swim beach, private pier, suspended platform dock, and beautiful views. Clear Lake is California's largest natural lake, and the water level fluctuates only a few feet annually. The gradual slope of the beach into deep water ensures water is present no matter what the season, and no aquatic weed problems! Clear Lake water warms into the mid 80's during summer, comfortable for wading, swimming, and skiing. The pier has a large sun deck for lounging and taking in the views. A short ramp leads to the boat dock suspended above lake level which can be used for mooring a boat or for swimming and fishing. There is a convenient community boat launch ramp just up the beach.

Silverado Beach is a natural sand and gravel beach almost a half mile long! The beach house has nearly 60 feet of private lake front, and a vacant lot next door expands the beach area. The beach is never muddy, and it is suitable for active water play or just lounging. Children get interested in shell and rock collecting, and pieces of colored rocks, quartz, shells, and obsidian (volcanic glass) can be found. You can take a vigorous morning run or a relaxing sunset stroll.

Whether you're in the house, on the pier and boat dock, or at beach you are sure to enjoy the views. With the lake lapping at your feet, it seems you can almost reach out and touch Mt. Konocti. This mountain is an old volcano, extinct for 300,000 years, and you can still see the concentric rings of lava flows on its flanks. Illuminated by the morning sun, silhouetted against gorgeous sunsets, snow-capped in winter, and sometimes draped with fog, Mt. Konocti has many moods you'll enjoy. Calm lake waters mirror these images, broken only by ripples generated by jumping fish or water birds landing from flight.

The home is decorated in a lighthouse theme that adds to the vacation atmosphere. It provides versatile sleeping arrangements for 8 with one queen, two doubles, and one sofa bed (plus two roll-aways can be put down for a total of ten). Meal preparation is a breeze in the fully-equipped kitchen. There is indoor seating for six at meal time with additional seating just outside on the covered View Patio. Or take your meals at the tree shaded Lakeside Picnic Patio overlooking the beach. The living room has chair and couch seating for six with large throw pillows for lounging on the floor. There is cable television, a DVD, a VCR, and a CD player for entertainment. Inquire About Pets, No Smoking.

Other diversions include educational materials about lake ecology, local birds, geology, and the legend of Mt. Konocti. Day trips and night life include wine tasting, drag racing, casinos, concerts, and dinner cruises aboard a paddle wheeler. Other interests include state parks, geothermal power generating exhibits, nature hikes, mountain biking, parasailing, hot air ballooning, fixed wing gliding, the Mendocino coast, California redwoods, San Francisco, and more.

Come and stay at Silverado Beach House for your vacation, you'll be glad you did!

Think of the beach house during FALL and WINTER. Put a log in the old stone fireplace and it's a cozy, private place for a romantic get away or a unique setting for the holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's, Easter. Check out our reduced winter rates!

Additional Information. Request our reservation information that describes what is provided (room by room) and makes recommendations about what you should bring. The following items should be considered when making a reservation, and we are always willing to answer any questions you may have.

The Silverado Beach House is lakefront, and the distance from the house to the beach and lake is about 60 feet. However, like many homes around Clear Lake, the house is separated from the beach and lake by a street. This is sometimes a safety concern of families with smaller children. Because the beach house location is in a rural area away from the downtown Clearlake, the street is not very busy. For most families the street crossing is not an insurmountable concern since children need constant supervision while at the beach and lake and need to be accompanied to and from the beach and lake at all times.

We do not provide linens, such as bed sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc., however each bed does have a mattress pad and comforter. Blankets and pillows for up to ten are also provided.

Boaters - the beach house is on the eastern shoreline in a part of the lake where some of the deepest waters of the lake are just offshore. While this means that there is excellent boating, skiing, fishing, and no aquatic weed problems, prevailing westerly winds and breezes can create wave conditions and boats often can not be left in the water unattended or overnight. Therefore, we recommend that boats be taken out of the water when unattended for long periods during the day or overnight. The community boat launch ramp just 200 feet north makes launching and taking boats out very convenient. There are also two offshore bouys just north of the ramp that can be used to moor boats. Those who rent boats should consider renting on a daily basis, and returning the boat each day.

Please, if you have questions about any aspect of the Silverado Beach House do not hesitate to ask.
