Time to relax, refresh and rejuvenate at our Delightful Serenity Sunset Cottage during any season of the year. We are located on the bluff of Lake Michigan between Saugatuck and South Haven near a small village called Glenn. When looking out the front windows there is a panoramic view of Lake Michigan, there are no roads or other buildings to block your view. Our cottage is very clean, it has wood floors, an open floor plan featuring a well supplied kitchen, dinning area and living area all with a beautiful view of the lake. The deck is facing west complete with furniture, a large picnic table and gas grill, this is a great place to relax, take pictures of the setting sun and read. There is a large mowed front lawn for playing Frisbee or other yard games.
A short walk acoss the front lawn to a board walk then down the stairs to the beach. We also have a lower deck with chairs and table for your use.
We are private owners of 190 feet of beach,a great place for games, sitting under a umbrella and watch the activity on the lake,safe for children to swim and build sand castles.You can walk on the beach for miles to the north or south, searching for beach glass and other beach treasures is a great pass time. We have two fire pits on the beach, just bring your hot dogs or marshmallows and enjoy a picnic Please bring your own firewood..
You need to bring your own towels, beach towels, kitchen towels. Also all your own bedding for the two queen size and one king size bed.
Other activities to enjoy in Saugatuck or South Haven are many festivals, art galleries, antique and other unique shops, Kal- Haven bike trail, golf courses, horse back riding, and an great area to pick many types of fruit in season or buy them fresh from the Farmer's Market.

The location of our property is on a 1/2 mile private drive. I 96 goes North and South close to Lake Michigan. You will exit on # 26 which is called the Pullman road/ 109th, turn to the west and go to the T in the road which is Blue Star or Adams RD. turn to the north and go .09 of a mile, which brings you to our drive Lake Michigan Ave. This drive is gravel 1/2 mile with a sign for the cottage go straight in through the pine trees. There is another drive next to ours called Deer Valley, Do Not use this drive as it will not come to our cottage.

- Lakefront : This cottage has a private panoramic view of Lake Michigan, there are no other buildings or road in front of this cottage.

Why the Owner Chose Saugatuck
We have lived in our home on Lake Michigan Bluff for 21 years. Living here is a beautiful experience regardless of the weather. We have watched many amazing sunsets as well as the strong storms. The cottage property joins our home property. We felt we wanted a place for people to come and experience the beautiful lake, the serenity of the location, and most of all the beach. We are open for seasonal renters during the spring, summer and fall months, and would like a long term renter for the winter.

My husband and I purchased the cottage in 2004, which is located next to our home. We have made many renovations, and kept the cottage in excellent condition. This spring 2010, we put in a new kitchen window and slider in the bedroom. The interior was given a fresh coat of paint. We enjoy meeting our renters from Italy, England, Canada, and many of the states and would love to make your acquaintance.

Wonderful panoramic view! My family loves this clean, homey vacation rental. We have rented many times and will continue to do so! Marilyn is a pleasure to deal with, and very helpful if you need anything or have any questions. The beach is wonderful, and the chest of beach toys and chairs makes it easy so you don't have to carry them up and down each time. Very quite and relaxing.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

We stayed at the house with our family for a week. The house was spacious, beautiful, well-maintained and clean. The view is gorgeous and there's lots to do in the area. Our only complaint was that the landlord was doing construction work on the property which started early in the morning. Waking to hammers banging, not so serene. The landlords live right next door and they share the yard, so don't be surprised to see them frequently during your stay. They were around every day working on the yard, improvements, etc. At times we felt that they were keeping an eye on us. We're used to a bit more privacy when paying rates comparable to this at other properties. This may be common practice with vacation rentals and I just didn't know, but there were no bath towels in the house. You'll need to bring your own. The beach below the property is not accessible in any way for anyone with disabilities and the many steep stairs are not for those with walking difficulties. Aside from that the beach is beautiful and private. My kids had no problem running up and down the stairs. The adults were a little sore, but we obviously needed the exercise! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
Owner response:From the owners of Serenity Sunset Cottage. The construction mentioned in the above statement was a new house being built next door to the north, which is now completed. We do live next door on the south side and the renters privacy is our number one goal. However there are times we need to mow the lawn, water the flowers which is general maintance . We try to do this while renters are on the beach or visiting the area. We have never listed this cottage for those with disabilities, nor do we have any age limit, all ages have enjoyed our cottage.
