We had relatives come up from Texas for our Grandma's Memorial/Life Celebration. We all loved the view and comfort of the house. It was adequate for all 12 of us and it was so great having lots of dishes to use for dinners! The conversation area was definitely put through its paces through the week - great place to gather and fellowship!! The beach was only a short seven minute easy walk! And having the park next door to walk through was also a special treat. Thanks so much for sharing your home in this awesome place!

This is a great beach house! We had lots of room and all of our family was confortable. The view is breathe taking! The decor is older, but if fine for a beach house. Just be aware you will have a difficult time getting your deposit back. The directions were not clear and we were charged for laundry. It was still worth the stay. We will be stay again. LOVED IT!!!!

Owner response:Glad you had a good time! The $300.00 cleaning/damage deposit is refunded less the actual cost for maid service which includes cleaning, laundry, and garbage removal (and damage, if any).

[entered from printed guestbook] Thanksgiving at the Yaquina Bay and House Arriving to the beautiful Yaquina House, I was greeted by 11 loving family members along with large sheets of the Oregon rain. Spending time with family I haven't seen for 2 years was a great joy, eliminating of complaints of rain. Bond with cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents has been a delight to my and their hearts. Thank you.

[entered from printed guestbook] The Hugo/Magnussen Summer Beach Trip went very well. First time in this house and I think it is safe to say that we'll be back. Our party of 11 had a great time. This was the first getaway for Baby Cameron (8 weeks) and Baby Spencer (13 weeks). Nice to have rooms on 3 floors - adds to the possibility of (?) rest and relax. Take care and Cheers! C-Ya next time.

[entered from printed guestbook] This was to be a vacation with my Mother, showing her love of the ocean with my family and my sisters families here in OR. Sadly, she passed away a month ago. I'm so glad we continued with our plans to come. My son and family from Vegas were here in the beginning of the week and son from San Francisco this weekend. My sisters family from all over Oregon came and went at different times during the week. Two days there was just my sister, her husband and myself. There was plenty of time to sight see some and explore shops on the Bay Front. There was so much room to sleep and room to store provisions. The most we had was 10 one night - average 7. We saw a beautiful sunset the first night. What a sight to behold! The view from the dining area - couldn't ask for better. Went the last night to Georgies and had a delicious meal. Thanks so much for letting us enjoy your lovely home and for all the kindness and consideration for the family. It was good to be together. I know Mom was here with us and had the best view!

[entered from printed guestbook]We just finished 2 weeks at this wonderful spot on the Oregon Coast. We grandparents, are from Arizona and we were here in the middle of a nationwide heat wave. 115° in Arizona, 105° in Corvallis. The only cool place in the nation was the Northwest Coast. Our sons' family came from Arizona and our daughters' family from Corvallis. We spent a lot of time on the beach, picnics, had a murder mystery party (Rome and togas) and the last night watched the paramedics and fire department rescue a man who fell down the cliff right behind the house. Good action drama. Thanks for such a lovely place.

Thanks for making your home available for others to share. The view is spectacular, the accommodation most adequate and the ocean.... what can ya say!

[entered from printed guestbook] We came to check the location for future use. The beach was easier to get to and enjoyed the long walks. We had snow and enjoyed the size of your home. Thanks for the use of the play station, my grand nephews were kept entertained. We ate seafood, went shopping and to the casino. My family and friends all enjoyed themselves. Thanks again, see for Christmas.

[entered from printed guestbook] Thank you so much for letting us use your house! It has been such a blessing! It's so clean, pretty, and it has a wonderful view. The weather was fairly nice and we enjoyed the beach a lot. The house was nice for congregating our big group (25 of us in two houses). One thing we noticed was perhaps a lack of proper cleaning supplies, such as Lysol toilet bowl cleaner, Windex (or glass cleaner), and sponges/ scrub brushes. We all had a wonderful time, and want to come back again. Thanks again and Lord bless!

[entered from printed guestbook] We bring our first ever Girl's Weekend to a close. The travelers from California left early & those of us from Idaho, Oregon and Washington are soon to go as well. We had a wonderful weekend of shopping, sightseeing (loved the lighthouse!), poker playing, eating & laughing. But mostly enjoying each others company. The house was perfect for our weekend. With 9 women, we loved the 3 full bathrooms! Thank you for opening up & sharing your wonderful beach home.

[entered from printed guestbook] The Davidson family Spring Break trip has once again come to an end. We enjoyed revisiting sites from last year as well as going to Yaquina Head tidal pools. We had a lot of rain, so we weren't able to enjoy the beach as much. Instead we enjoyed each others' company playing a lot of games (mainly Texas hold em). Moe won once again. Well, it's almost 11:00, so hopefully we'll see everything again next year.

[entered from printed guestbook]Monday 4:00AM The trip come to a bitter end. We will now embark on a dark and evil journey back into the depths of sinister reality. So many good times to be had. Weeks of anticipation, and now it is all over. The original mission: Seafood & Wine FestivalWe all traveled from far away places, no knowledge of who our compadres would be. Each as an individual had any idea what he/she would be up against. But not what we would be subjected to in our mission. Most of the group spent 4 hours in line Saturday to get into the festival. The others opted to sleep in, had an excellent breakfast, shop downtown and plan the outstanding meal that would follow. We all found many great things to do on this journey and unfortunately it has to end.P.S. Fabulous pad, man! Saw the 'coon fam. Had a bonfire. Weather was primo - 65° in Feb! Lots of relaxing, partying, eating good grub. Thanks!

We arrived on a sunny wonderful day and explored the coastline at low tide. Christmas day, we satched the stormy sea - Awesome! Had our kids and their mates with us for the first Christmas together. Each family left with a gorgeous hand blown float ornament - building memories!!"

[entered from printed guestbook] We come to Yaquina House from across the globe... Coeur d'Alene, ID, Junction City, Eugene, Tucson, Salem and Japan! Weather has been typical OR Coast... foggy & chilly mornings with brilliant afternoons. Beautiful sunsets, too. Woke Monday morning to a 4.9 earthquake - thought we were back in Japan! We've filled the house... 7 adults and 5 kids (ages 5 and under), including Baby Jo who is on her first trip to the U.S.A. Lots of reasons to celebrate... new babies, graduation from 5 yr. surgical residency, acceptance into OHSU residency, entry into grad school, moves, overseas return. etc... The Gilberts have been a busy lot... This is the first full gathering since May 2000. Thanks for a great place to build new family memories!

[entered from printed guestbook] Sadly, a rare and long-awaited family reunion has come to an end. The Esper clan has come from Florida, Ohio, Texas,North Carolina, Washington and California to stay at Yaquina House, and it has been a joy. We don't see each other often enough, so this has been a very special week. The last time we gathered in Oregon it was 1984, when the matriarch of our family was still with us. This trip has brought back happy memories of Grandma, and we all feel blessed to have a new member of the family among us. Grandma would smile with pleasure if she could see how much fun her great grandaughter has had with her extended family this week. A child never had so many hugs, rasberries, kisses and buzzy-bee tickles! Thank you for sharing your home with us. ~Best Wishes

[entered from printed guestbook] Mass visitors from MPLS, MN for "Vacation Club, 2004". Eight "adults" & two awesome children. The weather treated us superbly; including the wind, sun, overcast & a bit of rain. Golf, hiking, shopping, -eating, drinking, resting, exploring & most of all, laughing! One great sunset, including a fire. Buried the children in the sand, & speciality "sand" drinks by Caitlin. Spectacular whale watching on our final day - you should see the video (Seagull Charter $20/2 hour tour). Plenty of pots & pans to prepare the ton of food we ate. Good to have 2 fridges. Didn't try the microwave sauna, but good idea for others. Bonus to have the DVD player & movies - the cable was nice, too. Overall, we are blessed, happy and feeling very fortunate. Thank you for sharing your home and we hope we left great energy for you and your future visitors. PS Saw Mama Racoon and 2 young ones several times this past week. Seems they found shelter undr the neighbor's back porch.

[entered from printed guestbook] We've been here since Monday, at last it is Friday. We have dreaded this day all week, but we have had a wonderful time. We spent lots of time running and jumping waves, the kids favorite. Did a little bit of kite flying before the weather got bad. We have also enjoyed Mo's, Lincoln City Outlet stores (at least us girls enjoyed them), the little stores along the bay (some good wine tasting), and the boats & sea lions by the Marina. On Wed. we visited the OR Coast Aquarium. WOW! They have a lot of neat stuff there (sharks, octopus, alligators, jelly fish...). Now it is time to go out crabbing before we head for home. We have really enjoyed the house. The DVD's were fun when it was rainy out, the boys liked the nintendo, Dad liked to look out the window at the ocean (he had binoculars & a telescope to watch the boats), and Mom liked the grape- stomper wine glass & the fireplace to cozy next to with a book. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!

Hi, Glenn and I hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we enjoy being here. Spring is coming and the winds are dying down. We began the week with a winter storm, but the rest of the week has been beautiful! We walked down the beach to "Jump Off Joes" at sunset one evening. Many people were on the beach enjoying the sunset. I don't recommend climbing the cliff to get back on the street... Next time we will find stairs! We tried 2 new (to us) restaurants this week, Kumyon's and Mazatlan. Both were good. Kumyon's had really good vegies in their dishes, fresh and cooked just right. Mazatlan served us the best chilli Relleno, at least by our standards. I still enjoy Lee's Wok's special for 2... We take home enough for 2 more meals. Our favorite restaurants are Georgie's (just a bit north down Mark Street) for dinner and Shirley's On the Bay for a Saturday morning breakfast. I also love spending an afternoon wandering through Pirate's Plunder, an antique mall just on the other side of the bridge. Let us know if you see our resident raccoon family. Last year mama and 3 babies made their home in the upstairs bedroom wall. Since then we have cut off their access and the new siding might be a bit difficult for them to scale. But, just the same, we spot them every once in a while by the park. Have a wonderful vacation and feel free to share highlights with us here! And, of course, if there is anything we can do to make your next stay here more enjoyable, we really value your comments. Thank you! Lori
