The beautiful view to the jungle and the associated valley amazed our guests again on New's.
Haiku is a small town on Maui's north coast, and takes place in the tropical region of Maui. Otherwise extended far Haiku has a small town with a mall. The next town Paia is about 10 minutes (by car) from the sea and offers many shops and restaurants.
Kahului is our biggest city here on Maui with the airport, shopping centers, cinemas, restaurants, and is located about 25 minutes away.
For windsurfing enthusiasts interested, we are 7-minute drive to the next, the world famous windsurfing beach 'Ho'okipa' away and 20-25 minutes until after Sprekelsville and Kanaha.
Maui offers a diversity and recreational opportunities. The biggest attraction in the winter months Humbackwale are staying December to March between the islands and to the naked eye from the beach can be observed. Her singing can be heard from miles away while snorkeling and is a unique experience.
In the winter months are here in Hawaii measured waves of 10-15 meters and it is an adventure to watch the surfers and windsurfers.
Our 'Haleakala National Park' is definitely worth a visit. The view from the 3,000 meter high volcano Haleakala is impressive and can be explored on horseback or on foot. Sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed up here every day by hundreds of excited tourists.
Long sandy beaches in the south and jungle walks with beautiful waterfalls in the north raises on our island boredom.

Great Value! Great Location! Friendly Hosts!
Great Value! Great Location! Friendly Hosts!
This studio in the hills of Haiku is as far away from the hotel towers and Grand Pupa Resorts as one can get in Maui. Small towns of Paia, Haiku and Makawao are reached in 10 to 20 minutes. Good organic grocers, galleries, restaurants, fun and eclectic shopping, young and vibrant, hippies to boot. Nature, beaches and rough coast nearby, sunny climes of Kihei/Wailea and Laheina are 45 minutes away, Haleakala rim an hour+. Accomodations are excellent for the single traveler or a couple. Clean and well appointed studio. A sufficient size bedroom, small bath/shower combo. Full kitchen is in the screened patio/breezeway with dining table. Quiet location at cul-de-sac, ample parking on the property. Studio overlooks green valley, moon light and sunset views over the West Maui Mountains are included in the price. The homeaway listing and description is 100% accurate. Hostess is very friendly and helpful, even lends amenities like cooler, beach chair, etc. to her guests. Some basic supplies are provided (bath and kitchen). Be aware of the wild running roosters all over the island. They crow at 4 am - you'll get used to it. I will be back!

I stayed there for nearly 2,5 weeks. I did not know anything about Maui before and it was rather by chance that I decided in favor of a place in the North a bit outside of Kaluhui, where the int. airport is located. For those who are interested in actively exploring the island this domicile is absolutely fantastic. Cheap and affordable (prices are extremely high on Maui) and perfectly located close to the beach, the crater, and the road to Hana. The apartment consists of a large room and a kitchen, separated from lush banana trees through a moskito net (and big windows). You can sit close to the window front and follow the dawning of the day behind the banana and coconut tress. (You can do exactly the same from the bed, listening to the noises of the jungle at night). The apartment is reasonably furnished and thoughtfully equipped with kitchen utensils. A washing machine and a dryer are in the garage. The landlord is very open and cooperative. Financial transactions were exactly as agreed ex-ante and absolutely easy and reliable. I was even offered to participate in water-borne leisure activites, i.e. surfing and snorkling. Might be a reason to come back, since I declined in favor of land-based activities around the crater and the northern shore-line of Hana. Absolutely recommendable for those who are travelling as single persons, appreciating independence from the standardized (and expensive) hotel atmosphere which is common to the West coast (Kanapaali). Recommendable for women, since the landlord is one. The parking space is directly outside of the kitchen, so it is just 30 seconds in the morning to begin the sightseeing trip by car - and a few seconds in the evening to get rid of the machine and back to the refrigerator and the shower.
