ONE OF THE SEXIEST AND MOST CENTRALLY-LOCATED EASTSIDE RENTALS YOU'LL COME ACROSS!
This exquisite, whimsical, cozy, romantic, "casita," is a stone’s throw from Canyon Road’s hottest restaurants, bars and galleries, yet the property is extremely private, quiet and safe...
Architecturally, this rental embodies everything you dream of when you think of Santa Fe, with high ceilings, vigas, latillas, flagstone floors (with radiant heat), an awesome free-standing kiva fireplace, and a sunny outside breakfast nook under a towering tree of heaven!
This guest house has an open floor plan with a king bed in the LARGE upstairs loft/bedroom and a queen bed downstairs. The bathroom door is the only door inside the house, so this rental is best suited for an individual, a couple, a couple with kids, or family/couples/friends without boundary issues!
This is a two-story house with stairs, so it's not ideal for people with small children or for individuals that cannot climb a set of stairs (no wheelchair access).

Great spot to get away

This casita is ideally located near Canyon Road, but is quiet and is off a residential street in the eastside Historic District. The pictures on the website are not enough to get the full impact of this sweet spot. I would not hesitate to return! It was very clean and well-appointed, including internet access and iPod docking station!

This place was just perfect. Put on your favorite Carlos Nakai album and your chunkiest silver and torquoise bolo tie, and conjure up your most pinon scented, green chile flavored fantasy of what a Sante Fe vacation ought to be, and this Eastside casita would fit in perfectly. As other reviewers have suggested, the pictures don't really do the house justice. This place has it all, from the peeled log vigas, to the cozy radiant heat from the flagstone floor, to the free standing kiva fireplace with pinon firewood, to the rustic Mexican furnishings. The kitchen is well appointed, with all the cooking implements that you might want, dishes that match the decor, and an intelligently selected collection of cooking essentials (oils, spices, etc.) But why would you want to cook? Acequia Madre is about 100 feet off the eastern end of lower Canyon Road, so you're a 7 minute walk from either world class dining at Geronomio or breakfast at the Tea House, or a few minutes farther if you want some tapas and sangria at El Farol. My wife and I spent 3 nights in 939 1/2 Acequia Madre over Christmas. The owners are perfect hosts - friendly but not intrusive. The casita was the perfect location for taking in the Christmas Eve farolito walk along Canyon Road and Acequia Madre. Wandering Santa Fe at Christmas with the crunch of snow, the sparkling winter stars, and the scent of pinon smoke was better knowing that we had such a cute and cozy little home base where we could relax and warm up next to the fire with a cup of tea or hot chocolate and a good book. I have always wanted to spend Christas in Santa Fe, and this place was a huge part of a memorable, once-in-a-lifetrime trip. I've visited Santa Fe every other year or so since I honeymooned there in 2001. I've stayed at several of the well-known hotels, and a couple other vacation rentals. In the future, I will be staying here if it's available.

My husband and I are artists, we participate in Canyon Road gallery activities, this casita was perfectly located for us to walk to the galleries. The casita is vey well equipped and the owners extremely friendly and ready to help with anyting not provided.(We had trouble connecting our laptop - they were right there and saw to it that the issue was resolved) We could not have wished for sweeter or more cooperative landlords. They have a 5-year old daughter who is is fun and sweet and very polite ("my ma told me to respect your privacy"). All in all a great place to rent.

I stayed here for 2 months early in 2011. Everything was fantastic. The owners are lovely, the beds extremely comfortable and the location is exceptional - especially being able to access Canyon Road in one minute for the art galleries and the great Tea House. I loved staying in a traditional casita with authentic decor and design, a welcoming fire, and subtle underfloor heating. Santa Fe is a wonderful place to walk around and this casita is only about 10 minutes walk to the town centre. I hired a car occasionally to explore further afield, and for a 'big' shop at Wholefoods or Trader Joes.

Charming place to stay! Close to art galleries, a few restaurants, a park and a great little coffee shop. This casita has all the amenities one could need. We only wish it had been colder so we could use the fireplace! It was quiet and relaxing. Thank you.

I have stayed here twice now, and am eagerly trying to arrange my life so that I can return again. I stayed with a girlfriend the first time- we explored Santa Fe by foot and took in the amazing food, art, and scenery within a stone's throw of the casita and enjoyed the cozy warmth of the fireplace in the evening. The second time I stayed with my 2 year old and 5 year old kids. They are ready to move in full time and are begging to return. The owners are lovely- kind, warm and generous and the house simply gorgeous.

We stayed for 5 nights recently and couldn't have been more comfortable. The casita is so charming and we felt very welcome and very much at home. The neighborhood is great for walking to so many galleries and restaurants and it was wonderful to be able to cook at "home" when we wanted to. We would recommend this rental to everyone--so much more authentic than staying in a hotel.

My husband, 4-year-old daughter and I stayed here in May 2008. The house was charming and very cozy. We loved the fireplace, and the bed might have been the best I ever slept in! Location is quiet and pretty, and within walking distance of most local sights.
