We had a group of six come up for the weekend to race in a triathlon and ride in the mountains. Mystic Mntn was a fabulous oasis for our group. Well kept property that was comfortable, had great amenities, and in a good location. On a quite street, with beautiful views, and a most comfortable porch! Fabulous owners who clearly cared that we would enjoy our stay.

My husband and I have a married daughter, a college-aged son, and a teenager. This cabin gave everyone the space they needed. I was also very impressed that the cabin had left several "staples". There were spices in the cabinet and extras that we might have forgotten to pack. I appreciated that.

We had one of the best vacations we have ever had. There is a stream that runs in the front of the cabin and you can sit on the porch 24/7 and listen to it. It was so relaxing. We came from Florida where the weather was in the high 90"s and we hardly ever had to turn the A/C on in the cabin. It was very nice and we slept with the windows open and the fan on. You certainly cannot do that in Florida. It was very refreshing. Also, the cabin was so clean and the layout was perfect. We will definitely be back and I just can't say enough good things about it. We loved it and would recommend it to everyone. What a great vacation we had. Also, it was very close to great site seeing. We went to Cherokee to the Casino twice and yes won money. We went to HOT SPRINGS and go in the 108 degree hot springs. We went to the Fontana River/Dam and also went to the White Water Rafing towns. All of these are a 1-day trip. The resturants are great. We loved Clyde's in Waynesville, NC (7 miles away). The Mexican Resturant in Maggie Valley was also very good. Not enough time to tell all the great things about the cabin and our week vacation. Thank you.

We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation! Enjoyed the cabin, especially the porch- we enjoyed watching the birds come to the feeders and even a little chipmunk cane to eat the seeds the birds dropped! Beautiful weather - sunny days and very cool nights - Joey's was great as always. The cabin was so well equipped. We ate in most of the time. You have a very homey place. - thanks for sharing!

My husband and I have wanted to visited Asheville and the surrounding areas for quite awhile and then a friend suggested Mystic Mountain. We had the opportunity so took it for a two night stay in April. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and well stocked - I brought stuff, but didn't need anything. It was great! I am not a birder, but I imagine you could spend the time on the porch or hiking and find all kinds of special birds. Also, in the short time, we got a quick overview of the area. We want to go back to see the Biltmore - a weekend was too crowded and we were also too late. We loved the town of Asheville with its 60's time warp and great restaurants. The cottage was well stocked with ideas of things to do, maps and books of hiking trails, restaurants, etc. Even binoculars for all you birders. We plan to revisit the area and highly recommend Mystic Mountain!

Owner response:Debbie, It was great having you with us. We look forward to a longer visit with you next time. We have been exploring the area between Asheville and the Smokies for 6 years now. There is always something new to see. Along with the Biltmore, the Grove Park Inn is another historic structure that is still being used as an Inn but open to everyone to tour. Closer to Maggie are the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Balsam Mountain Inn in Waynesville. Lots of reasons to return to Maggie. See you soon I hope.

Donna and Mark, We had a wonderful time at your cabin. It was spotless, and had everything we needed to comfortably spend the week we spent there. Some of the concerns that I had when I was looking for a place to stay were ease of access and closeness to the places of interest on the area. Both aspects exceeded my expectations, my GPS found the address with no problems at all, the cabin is located literally 10 minutes from the Cataloochee Skii area, 10 minutes from the closest supermarket, and 30 minutes from the Biltmore. We totally LOVED your cabin, and will be back.

Mystic Mountain Cabin

We recently spent 5 wonderful days at Mystic Mountain. It was one of the most relaxing vacations ever! The cabin has a tremendous view, great location and was exactly, if not better than described. The property was perfectly located for day trips to the parkway, the community of Cherokee and many fabulous places to eat. Our family spent many happy hours playing cards on the front porch and enjoying the peaceful evenings. We visited the area waterfalls, downtown Waynesville and a used bookstore with over 200,000 books! We also enjoyed miniture golfing, hiking and ice cream shops with super waffle cones. I am telling all my friends to definitely visit Maggie Valley and to stay at Mystic Mountain.

Mystic Mountain

We loved the quiet and coolness of staying there. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage well stocked. We spent most of our time when there sitting on the deck, even when it rained. It was very clean and welcoming. We didn't do anything local because we ran around looking at houses every day but we would have hiked if we had had the time. Com check it out!

We are now enjoying our fond memories of our stay at Mystic Mountain Cabin. We felt a warm welcome from the Boxman's from our first contact to the bag of goodies which greeted our arrival. Everything we needed was available from a well equipped kitchen to the many helpful guides and maps of the local area. The fireplace was warm and cheerful on cool nights. Donna, We so enjoyed our stay at your perfect mountain cabin!!! We only discovered the videos the night before we left but had no time for them anyhow! The nights were cool and we slept under the covers which was nice. Only had rain one night for a couple of hours and I can assure you there are no leaky spots as the rain poured hard and there was no evidence of a leak. We found the birdseed in the box on the deck and I filled the birdfeeders as the birds were all over and seemed to be telling me they wanted food. I filled the feeders and the place was alive with lots of various birds and I even saw a couple chipmunks coming to visit and eat. I wanted to tell you there is a book you have about Maggie Valley with a picture of an old mountain farm on it. This is a piece of land that my dad has owned since the 1960's. The house is no longer at the farm and was vandalized many, many years ago. The land is still there but overgrown. It does not look anything like the picture anymore but Dave and I visited it while in Maggie this time. I grew up running all over that piece of land and playing in the spring house and brook. We also went to Joeys three times and talk to Linda (the owner) and Kathy about old times and what is happening these days in MV. What special memories and a warm place Maggie Valley will always hold in my heart. I would love to book some time for next summer but at this time, do not know our plans. We pulled up about 4:30 pm and was just blown away by the views, we took to the rocking chairs on the porch just to breathe in the fresh crisp air and listen to nature. The birds are are out and talking and animals are scurring Well, we must unpack car & the cabin inside is just as beautiful outside. The skylights are awesome looking @ stars all night. The first am there we had snow and must build fire can not wait to go back to Mystic Mtn have already told all our friends. Rose

We spent Thanksgiving at Mystic Mountain. What a wonderful time of year we had a fire every night. In the mornings we would put on our coats, sit on the porch, enjoy the views and the birds. The house was everything it was advertised. (It was very clean.) It was easy access to great shopping, hiking, and restaurants. Donna could not have been more helpful in giving us information about the area. We would definitely stay here again.

I rented Mystic Mountain for four weeks so that my brothers (&wives) could all spend time with our Mom. Everyone was delighted with the house, the location and the experience. Mystic Mountain Cabin has got to be one of the most peaceful places in the world. The mountain views are breathtaking and the cabin is well appointed providing everything that a guest needs. I truly enjoyed staying there with my son, daughter-in-law and beautiful five month old granddaughter. A sense of calm pervaded all of us. We traveled each day to see the sights - Ghost Town in the sky, beautiful waterfalls, the excitement of Asheville, but we always were glad to get back to our mountain hideaway and the beauty that was there both inside and out. I would recommend Mystic Mountain Cabin to all my close friends and family and anyone who wants a lovely mountain experience.

Beautiful, private cabin! The Boxman's have put much thought into providing their guests with a memorable vacation! No stone was left unturned. From wonderful directions, to information about the cabin (operating the fireplace,flashlights etc...),things to do in the area and a welcome package...we had our every need fufilled! We enjoyed daily visits from feathered friends while we drank our morning coffee or ate our supper on the porch. During these relaxing moments we also enjoyed the sounds of the running creek nearby. Perfect setting!! Maggie Valley is full of friendly residents and quaint shops with wonderful restaurants! NO FAST FOOD!! (Another bonus in my book.) But for anyone craving fast food, Waynesville is only a stone's throw away. We spent our days hiking around MT Mitchell (wow! what views),walking in the serenity of the Arboretum in Asheville,shopping in the arts and crafts stores of Black Mountain, viewing Elk in Cataloochee Valley, playing in the river at Cherokee,antique shopping over towards Sylva (found some great deals!), and my son's favorite- visiting Ghost Mountain! What talent they have found for the shows! Blue Grass, country music and Can-Can girls!!! Not to mention the shoot out scenes! Lots of fun! And "Ranger Buck" told us it is only going to get better in the next 7 yrs...lots of expansion! Thank you Boxman's for such a wonderful experience! We are counting the days to do it again and I know exactly where we will be staying!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Mystic Mountain. It's in a terrific location for day trips to a number of sites. We enjoyed a trip to Cataloochee where we hiked the Boogerman Trail - a little more challenging than we had anticipated, but well worth it. We also hiked Charlie's Bunion Trail from New Found Gap - again challenging, but the scenery is unbelievably beautiful. We enjoyed the shops in Waynesville and had a delicious lunch at The Patio. We also enjoyed a couple of days just relaxing in the comfortable, gorgeous cabin. We definitely recommend it as a great place to stay.

Our week long stay at Mystic Mountain Cabin was great! We've stayed in Maggie Valley each spring/summer for years and found the cabin location to be much quieter than usual. The Wi-fi and TV were great, but for vacation purposes...most of our cabin time was spent either on the porch, napping, sleeping, or just lounging around reading a book. We're definitely recommending this cabin to our family and friends. This was definitely one of the cleanest cabins we've ever had. Everything was exactly as advertised and the whole rental process couldn't have been easier. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. Our vacation in Maggie and on the Blue Ridge Parkway was definitely a complete success with such a nice place to stay! Andy & Heather

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this rental. Donna and Mark were very accommodating. I really loved the WIfi. One morning on our stay someone up the Mountain side started playing the bagpipes. Thanx Donna. Our vacation experience at Mystic Mtn surpassed our lofty expectations. The cabin was comfy, clean, totally equipped and conveniently accessible to all the fun things we were interested in, including the Smokey Mountain Railway, whitewater kayaking on the Nantahala River and breath-taking sunsets at Waterrock Knob. The Candlelight dinners, rocking chairs and bird- watching from the sweet porch were the cherry on top. Thanx. you have packaged serenity.

We had a great time and wonderfully cool weather during our stay the week of July 4th. You have a very nice place at Mystic Mountain. We especially liked the large porch where we often ate dinner, and all the natural light from the skylights. We enjoyed our excursions to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore, Waynesville, and Brevard. The Maggie Valley Country Club golf course was in good condition and offered a nice golfing experience.

We spent the week of April 21st at Mystic Mountain and loved every minute of it. The cabin and accomodations were wonderful....everything was spotless. We found it to be the perfect launching point for trips to places such as Asheville (the Biltmore Estate), Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. By the way, for you motorcyclists out there, we made the trip on our Goldwing and the route to the cabin, as well as the parking situation, were fine. We can't wait to go back. We had a wonderful time at Maggie Valley. Even though the weather was not cooperating we managed a full week of activities plus some overdue down time. The accommodations were perfect. This email came in on October 31, 2006 from Mystic Mountain guests who visited the last week in October. We enjoyed the week immensely, leaves "peaked" while we were there and continued at lower and more southern areas. We ate at Country Vittles, J Arthurs Steaks and The Dillard House, while up there. We added some firewood to the dura logs but cleaned it up completely before we left. Hung bird feeder seed and nut blocks and were visited by a dozen varieties of friendly song birds. The king bed was VERY comfortable and our sensitive bad backs appreciated that very much. The week did all the things that a vacation should do. In Georgia, we visited the "Big Peach" antique place on I-75 near Macon (Byron?), which after 11 years, is going out of business November 30th. My wife Enjoyed finding a few little bargains. We spent a few hours at the Casino and came away with an extra $20.00. We drove highway 64 and found that the best way to return to Maggie is to take 106 to Dillard at 441 and return via highway instead of winding road. We ate apples and brought apples home. All things marvelous... Thank you for allowing us to stay at your retreat nestled in the hills. It was a pleasure to be there as well as in our favorite town, Maggie Valley.

We had a wonderful time staying at Mystic Mountain. The cabin was so comfortable and inviting with privacy and a nice view. Everything we needed was provided and the beds were especially comfortable. There was plenty to do and see in the area, but just hanging out was great too.

We had a wonderful visit to Maggie Valley. Really enjoyed lunch at the Pisgah Inn, hiking along the Little River in the Smoky Mountain Park, and shopping in Waynesville. The cabin was great. We had wonderful views and easy access. It was quiet and comfortable and a great get-away. The Boxmans were great.

Our family had a great visit at Mystic Mountain during one week in May. We enjoyed shopping in Waynesville, lunch at the Pisgah Inn, and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains on the Little River. The cabin was better than we expected, roomy and comfortable. We made ourselves right at home. The Boxmans were great to work with.

Thanks for a wonderful getaway. It seemed after just a day or so, that all the troubles and concerns from home and work had vanished into the clean, crisp air. Everything was perfect: the cabin, the view, the relaxation and the rest. We hated to leave. Thank you, thank you. We'll be back!
