Come out to The Birds Nest in the Galena Territories and relax to the sounds of nature all around you. Our completely furnished home has three bedrooms all on their own level to afford you and your friends maximum privacy, each bedroom features a queen-size bed and its own bathroom. The large living room with gas log fireplace allows you and your friends to sit and enjoy a glass of wine while watching TV or playing cards. The fully equipped kitchen allows you the option of dining in or you can take a short drive and dine at one of the many great restaurants in the Galena area.We are pet friendly (fees apply).
Two large decks and a screened-in porch allow you to view deer, wild turkey and all sorts of birds that live in the woods all around the house. Historic Galena is just minutes away with its quaint shops, historic buildings and great restaurants and bars and 15 miles further west is Dubuque which offers casinos, a large fresh water aquarium and its own interesting restaurants. For skiers Chestnut Mountain rated one of the Midwest top ski resorts is about 20 miles south. Come out and enjoy The Birds Nest and all it has to offer today.

What a great location for a family reunion! We are 5 siblings from several different states and we spent a long weekend at the Bird's Nest. It was just perfect for our needs. The photos on line do not do it justice! Our favorite spot was the screened porch where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine conversations while viewing all the wild life around us. Very relaxing, comfortable and warm. Convenient to shopping, restaurants, historic Galena. Maria and Steve were great to work with and WE WILL BE BACK!

6/18/2010 - 6/21/2010 We had a awesome time! The house was clean, spectaciular and the view incredible! We loved this place! We had a couples getaway and this was perfect! There was plenty of room for everyone, we loved the spacious kitchen to make meals, it was cozy with great views, it was such a nice place! It's a great find, Steve and Maria were great to deal with, and we will be telling all of our friends we highly recommend!! We will definitely be going back!

What a perfect winter getaway for us, our kids, their friends, and our dogs. A wonderful, comfortable house in the woods. The kids loved snowboarding at Chestnut and we liked taking walks with our dogs and wandering around Galena. Wonderful hosts. Don't hesitate to rent!!!

We just got back from spending the weekend at "The bird's nest" and had the most wonderful time! The owners are very organized and lay out everything you need to know about how to get there and what to do when you're there. We went with another couple and we all agreed the home is so beautiful. We can't wait to plan another trip next year!

Great House. Perfect set up for a couples getaway. We had 3 couples for the weekend. Great that each had privacy of own floor and private bath. Common areas were great for the social times. Beds were very comfortable. Well equipped. Would choose again!
