Family of 4 stayed in Flaminio for ~3 weeks in spring 2012. Apartment is terrific in every way. Location is great as there is peace & quiet but easy access to Metro, taxi, bus, major sites. There are quality grocers nearby...and wine. The interior is spacious for relaxing, games, computer use, sleeping, showering...seemingly minor things (water pressure, clothes washing, kitchen space, etc) all better than most anywhere else. (And these are the things that make a stay go smoothly!) The doorman (Lucky) is professional; safety is of no concern as the neighborhood and building are high end. Great for any family, couples, girls away, elderly, you-name-it.

We enjoyed our trip very much. Working with Pat was very easy. She went above and beyond to assist us ahead of our trip for a number of items that we needed. The apartment location was good. Walking distance from Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. My family walks a lot so we found the location very conventient. The apartment was exactly what we expected. What you see is what you get... The outside "patio" area was very nice. In particular, if the weather is nice. A wonderful trip.

Wanted to let you know that everything was perfect. The apartment was just as we expected and really made our vacation enjoyable. We used Stefano to pick us up at the airport and he was right on time. Rene was wonderful and checked in on us to make sure we didn't need anything. The sheet that you send with the little cards were perfect. They came in handy. Stay at this apartment made this a memorable trip for my sister, niece and my son and I. We will definitely use Italy Perfect again.

Well maintained, no corners cut. We have rented flats in Europe for many years, and this ranks near the top. Rene , the greeter, was very accommodating. Great location---fairly quiet street, but just 3 blocks from Piazza Popolo. Tip : cross the river, head toward Piazza Mazzini---try the restaurant Ulisse on Via G. Ferrrari.(in the Prati). A real locals place, very busy, few tourists, good food, warm service. Italy Perfect did a top notch job in helping us before our trip. Many thanks to them for their work.

We stayed in the apartment in October 2011 and found it very comfortable, with everything we needed. The terraces were a huge bonus that made the large apartment feel even more spacious, and the terrace view of St. Peter's dome at night is something we will always remember. Communicating with Pat Byrne at Italy Perfect was very easy. She responded to my email questions quickly and readily shared information about the area and apartment. She was also helpful in recommending Stefano, who provided airport transportation. Our greeter, Mr. Batard, met us at the apartment and helped us feel instantly at home. He also went out of his way to help us get a personal item back that we left behind. We would definitely stay in this apartment again.

We were 2 couples and there was enough separation, yet enough common space, to accommodate all our needs. It's location afforded us easy access to all the major sites, and also gave us a quiet place to come home to at the end of the day. The apartment was well equipped and quite comfortable. Our host, Rene, was more than helpful and a true delight. We wouldn't hesitate to rent the Flaminio again. Cheers for a happy holiday season and a good new year.

This apartment is wonderful for an extended stay in Rome. We rented it for two weeks in September 2011 and it was exactly what we thought it would be: spacious, in a lovely neighborhood between the Tiber River and the Borghese Villa and close to a metro stop, buses, a tram stop, restaurants, grocery stores, a small open market, and great window shopping along Via del Corso. We read that every person who lives in Rome dreams of living in a penthouse apartment in a good neighborhood and we found that place in the Flaminio Apartment. Returning to the apartment for lunch most days and each evening was the reward for having survived an outing filled with wonderful sites and art but also full of the crowds, noises, smells, and heat of Rome in late summer. The owner was delightful and wanted to make sure that everything in the apartment was working as it should. The furniture was comfortable with some lovely antique pieces and a huge bookcase full of guidebooks and maps. The master bathroom was big and beautiful! We also enjoyed interacting with the doorman and his family. We already have recommended the apartment to friends who are thinking about a Roman holiday.

A great apartment for a great visit to Rome We are a family of 4 with two teenage boys who stayed in the Flaminio apartment for a week. This was our first visit to Rome and we are so glad we stayed in the Flaminio apartment. We credit Italy Perfect for such a success. Without the extensive photos and write ups on all their properties we could have ended up in far different circumstances. The apartment was comfortable and appeared just as shown in the website photos. It was nice to have the space to spread out in and it seemed like a home away from home for all of us. The greeter, Rene, was helpful and conscientious. He gave us a complete introduction to the accomodation and offered us his assistance should we ever need anything. There was also a basket of food in the kitchen which was a welcome arrival snack. The Flaminio apartment is in a quiet neighborhood (which we enjoyed), but just a brief walk--a couple of minutes at a teen's pace--to the Piazza del Popollo where we used the metro to travel to the Colloseo and the Vatican. The 3 streets which converge at the Piazza are great for strolling down to find restaurants, shopping, gelatto, and sights, like the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, etc. Plan on doing a good deal of walking during your stay in Rome. There are buses and cabs, but you see so much more by foot. The location of the Flaminio apartment is convenient for finding food too. There is even a Burger King just outside the metro stop. But the Italian restaurants, pizza places, and cafe are tops! Plan accordingly for food on Sundays though, when the small neighborhood groceries are not open. The neighborhood market was the best place, cost-wise, to buy food to prepare in the apartment. We especially liked the produce we found there. Since we were visiting Rome during a summer month, I will comment about cooling costs. We used the room air conditioners to stay comfortable. When we were at the apartment for mid-day breaks and overnight we ran them in the rooms we occupied. We opened the doors to the balcony, but toward the end of our week the only part of the day that was cool was in the early morning. We didn't quite know what to expect upon check-out and were pleasantly surprised to find that we only had to leave 4 Euros to cover the extra energy used. We have already recommended Italy Perfect to many friends and would certainly recommend the Flaminio apartment to anyone going to Rome.

"Terrific Rome apartment" It's hard to choose a spot without visiting it first but when we arrived, I saw at once the Flaminio apartment was a perfect spot for our stay in Rome. Location was easy walk to many places on our must-see short list and great restaurants and shops just outside. Also the bus at the corner goes everywhere in Rome. This was my 2nd visit to Rome so I'm still learning about the city and sights. After speaking with Pat at Italy-Perfect about what we like to do on vacation, her recommendations were amazing and we had a terrific stay. The apartment is nicely arranged for both privacy and casual relaxing before and after our days of sightseeing. Shower worked great. Kitchen well equipped. Bedrooms quiet. Yes we would stay here again and recommend it.

My husband, two children (11 and 8) and I stayed in the Flaminio apartment in June 2011. It was the perfect family accommodation we could find anywhere. The apartment was spacious and clean. Amenities were plentiful - with washer AND dryer which is rare. The location is ideal, just behind Piazza del Popolo, but without the noise one might expect. The metro station is within a very short walk from the apartment, making it easy to get everywhere in Rome. The owner is extremely kind. Our son left his beloved Rome sweatshirt behind and it was sent to us within a week. We also appreciated all the help we got from Pat at Italy Perfect. Not only was the booking process very simple, she provided us with all the information and tips we needed to plan our visit to Rome, including a wonderful booklet she sent to the kids! We highly recommend Italy Perfect and the Flamino apartment.

We found the apartment to be very comfortable, and enjoyed having an outdoor terrace. While we had plans to use the kitchen to make a few of our own meals, we were too tired in the evenings to cook, but felt it was stocked with sufficient plates and utensils. I had looked at many, many different websites and contacted a number of apartment owners during my months long search. While this apartment was not the most affordable of those I found online, the location was best for "living like the Romans do" for a week, a bit removed from the tourist hubs. The location is within a neighborhood with offices and apartments, but near enough the sites for daily excursions. We had short taxi rides daily to all of the sites. It's a 10 minute walk to Pizza del Popolo which was a central location to find most transportation sources. The nearest taxi stand and bus 17 pick up near the twin churches at Popolo. The metro is also nearby. We arrived on a Sunday, when most markets are closed. However, we found a few restaurants open near the entrance to Piazza del Popolo, where we were able to sit outside and have a surprisingly good meal. Although the nearby delicatessen's choices were a bit disappointing for breakfast the next morning, we walked to the local market and found everything we needed. In fact we headed here most mornings for fresh bread and cheese, which became our morning ritual. They also have yogurt, milk and juices. We frequented the nearby produce stand a few times as well. The temperatures were mild when we arrived, but as the week progressed, the temperature climbed. We managed to lower the screens on the windows to keep the apartment cool enough during the day, so as not to turn on the AC, but it was nice to know we had it. The luxury of a washer and dryer (and an elevator) were big factor in choosing this apartment. Plan according to the washer taking 2.5 hours to wash a load. The driver (Stefano) that Italy Perfect recommended was always on time, and also shuttled us back and forth to the port for our cruise. His spacious van had plenty of room for our luggage. Renee met us upon our arrival and walked us through the apartment amenities; he was in touch with us when needed and helped coordinate our departure. I particularly enjoyed having wi-fi to stay connected while on vacation. The four of us were very comfortable in the apartment and would recommend it to those of you planning a trip to Rome.

The apartment was just as billed, the perfect size for us and in a great location. Rene, our greeter, was very professional and helpful. The assistance finding a driver from the airport was also really helpful. Being able to handle booking it on the phone with some one in the us (Pat from ItalyPerfect.com) without all the stress of an international call made it all the better, plus your packet of information helped us plan. We wandered the streets for our week there, soaking in the warm weather, fabulous food and engaging history. Our kids (ages 10 and 13) had a blast and really learned from the various tours we booked. It was educational, great exercise (all that walking!) and lots of fun. I really can not imagine a better family vacation and this apartment made it all possible. We also loved shopping the local markets and cooking a bit at home; breakfasts each day at the apartment saved us a bundle and the sweet Italian man at the market made it so enjoyable! I can not thank you enough -- we will recommend you to everyone.

"Wonderful Rome..marvelous apartment!" First, the location is fabulous. Just minutes outside the northern gate of Piazza di Popolo. Flaminio is a lively district during the week teeming with office workers, yet quiet in the evenings and on the weekend.A very short walk...and poof! You're in the heart of Rome...having an expensive, but delightful, cup of coffee on the terrace at Cafe Canova; think of it as a price of a ticket for superb people watching: coiffed women, sleek, black clad priests, power brokers and even a Michael Jackson look-alike! The apartment was clean, bright and had all the comforts of home. The main bedroom had a wonderful bed and good reading lights...something usually missing from most rentals. Although I didn't sleep in the second bedroom, my friends, average sized american adult women, said they were fine with the twin beds, although both said their husbands, if they had come along on this trip, could not have slept comfortably. The kitchen was fun to cook in and we made quite a few meals using ingredients from the Flaminio market; be aware it's only open until 12:30pm. There's a butcher, fish, produce, laundry, bread, etc. Quite handy and everyone was nice and helpful. Even supplying a recipe for puntarelle ( a wonder crunchy green vegetable served with an anchovy paste )! We were lucky having a beautiful, sunny month in February, so we breakfasted on the terrace almost daily and moved about in the sun. On one rainy day, we stayed inside and there was room for all to enjoy our different pursuits. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in Flaminio...nose around, look in and try some of them. You'll be pleasantly surprised at both the difference in price, quality and service at the local shops and cafes, I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect...the apartment and location was true to the description on the web site.

Great apartment, friendly greeter, easy and central to Piazza del Popolo. We had a wonderful week at the Flaminio apartment. The accommodations were perfectly comfortable, a well organized kitchen, very clean and easy to access. Our teenagers liked the wifi and we were toasty warm despite the chilly temperatures outside. Rene was very helpful upon arrival with a neighborhood orientation and Stefano-the-driver was prompt, professional and responsive (even at VERY early hours of departure). We also got lucky with last minute tickets to the Galleria Borghese. And we went twice to Santa Maria del Popolo to see the Caravaggios. The kids rode the Segways around Piazza del Popolo – there was always something going on in the piazza: music, magicians, dancers, buskers – glad we stopped for cappuccinos at the Canova Café. Along the Via Corso, we shopped, saw all the lovely churches and generally enjoyed the neighborhood on our way to and from the main sights of Rome. We liked strolling along the lively streets leading up to Piazza del Popolo and coming home to the quiet apartment. Didn't use the balcony since the weather was a bit cold, but overall, the apartment was a perfect fit for our family.

Just wanted to say thanks again to Pat and her team. We had a wonderful time in Rome and couldn't have asked for anything better with our time at the Flaminio. (including the shuttle service by Stefano, who had to shift his schedule around to accommodate our 3 hour flight delay in the morning) Everything met or exceeded our expectations based upon the pictures and prior reviews. Everyone was very responsive and professional. The experience of renting an apartment in Rome (over the standard hotel/tour that most Americans take while abroad) is something that we will always remember. In addition to seeing all of the sites, we had the opportunity to live like true Romans, even for just a few days. Thanks again and we would definitely recommend this apartment, neighborhood, and personnel to anyone traveling to Rome.

This is a classy apartment near the Piazza del Popolo (just outside the walls) in a not terribly interesting neighborhood that easily compensates by being quiet and convenient to some of the best parts of Rome ... Popolo, Spanish Steps, Via Veneto etc. all in relatively easy walking range (& Metro close by). We found the apartment to be first class, clean and comfortable. We dearly needed the air conditioning and our two teenage grandkids loved sacking out on the living room couches after our daily excursion (essentially all we could muster for sight seeing given the 95 degree heat/fatigue in late July. We had a great, pre-scheduled Vatican tour; unfortunately, I failed in attempts to get last minute online Colosseum tickets (shoulda, coulda done it from home!). Rene (rental assistant) was very helpful, professional and always reachable, and doorman Lucky was delightful and helpful. Pat Byrne who handled all the rental arrangements was extremely helpful and responsive, with many good tips and suggestions; overall excellent service.

Great apartment! My husband and I along with our adult daughter recently spent 5 nights at Flaminio. It was a great apartment in a great location. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood in a quiet building. It is a 5 minute walk at most to public transportation, subway or bus, and a 15 minute walk to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and a multitude of restaurants and shopping. There are several grocery stores withing a couple of blocks. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. We were traveling on through Europe from Rome so having a washer and dryer was great. I contacted the manager a week before our arrival. He responded quickly and had the apartment ready for us when we got there which was a surprise because we arrived at 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. He was very helpful during our stay too. Pat suggested Stefano as a driver. I highly recommend him too. Our stay in Rome was greatly enhanced by trying an apartment instead of staying in a hotel. We will do it again next time we travel there.

The location of this apartment if perfect! Located in Flaminio, a little residential area just north of the Piazza del Popolo, it has great access to everything! The city unfolds in front of you as you pass through the gates of the Piazza, and nearby you also have a neighborhood market, cafeteria, metro stop, taxi stop and wonderful gelateria. The area has tree-lined streets and is safe and quiet. The apartment is comfortable, air-conditioned, has a nice wrap around balcony and is equipped with a nice library of books and maps for your use.

My husband and I, with our 2 adult children, spent a wonderful week in Rome and loved living like the Romans. What a comfortable apartment. Renee was very accommodating and very helpful. It was helpful that he spoke English to be able to explain the apartment. The doorman was also very nice. We also used Stephano, who was recommended, for transfer to and from the airport. I would also recommend him. We used the metro to travel to the Vatican without any trouble. The metro is very close, 1 block away. We walked to the beautiful Piazza del Popolo daily for taxi's and the many shops around there as well as restaurants. We loved walking everywhere to explore Roma. Loved the shopping, everything you need nearby. ATM was to the right of the entrance of the apartment as well as many restaurants, bakeries as well as grocery stores. Loved the area, so easy to use. Neighborhood was very safe and nice. My son cook a meal one evening and the kitchen had everything we needed. We traveled in January and the weather was unusually cool the week we were there, so we did not use the beautiful balcony. But, if you travel when it is warm, the doors open and the balcony is very nice. Elevator works well. The only drawback is that we could not stay longer. We hope to return someday! Our host was extremely gracious and although we had no reason to contact him after our arrival I felt as though he would be very accommodating. The location is a 5 minute walk from Piazza del Popolo, the metro, ATM's and some small restuarants. Very convenient and quiet. Finding a grocery store was a bit of a challenge but we did locate a great store off the Via del Corso. The A/C worked great as did the washer/dryer and dishwasher. We would absolutely stay here again! [The previous guest must have removed the map showing the grocery store within one block; it has been replaced. Pat]

The Flaminio is awesome Reviewed on: 07/20/2009 for their stay in 06/2009 I stayed at the Flaminio apartment after coming across it on tripadvisor. After having researched it for my first trip to Rome I booked it with the friendly and very helpful ladies at ItalyPerfect. We are a family of 5 and found this apartment perfect. My kids are 16,19,and 21yo. It is in a perfect neighborhood of Rome for a family on vacation--quiet, pretty, safe and out of the hectic touristy part but easily within walking distance to everything. The Piazza del Popolo, a couple of blocks over, is beautiful at night and from there you have access to 3 busy, exciting streets that bring you into the heart of historic Rome. This apartment needs nothing to perfect it. It has A/C, a coffee pot(!), adequate kitchen, plenty of room, master bedroom with a balcony, privacy, a great wrap around terrace for dinners overlooking a beautiful street. Rene, the man that meets you, is friendly and helpful. I have no recommendations to ItalyPerfect to make this place better! I cannot think of anything that could have made it any more perfect than it was--honestly! Incidentally, Lisa, at ItalyPerfect sent us a lot of very helpful information that helped us greatly in our trip(our first to Europe).

This was our second visit to the Flaminio apartment, and we loved it even more than our first, if possible. Before it was just the two of us; this trip included our daughter and two teenaged granddaughters--and the apartment felt comfortably at home for all of us, and large enough that we never felt crowded. We especially love the location -- it's so close to wonderful shopping (on both sides of the river) or just evening "strolling"; there are a lot of good restaurants on the little streets off the piazza del popolo; and you can easily walk to most places within the city. The apt's owner is a charming man (he no longer lives across the hall, but is just as responsive if you need something), and the doorman is also helpful. We used Pat Bryne's recommended driver, Stefano, to and from the airport -- he was reasonable, reliable, and so easy to deal with. But our biggest treat was a private 3-hour tour of ancient Rome we booked with Alan Epstein, whose name we also found in Pat's information booklet. Alan is a charmer who clearly loves his adopted city, and his tour chatter was as entertaining as his book (When in Rome). And to end our tour, he took the time to walk with us to one of his favorite restaurants in the Jewish quarter,Dal Pompiere, where we took his recommendations and had superb pasta limone and fried carciofi (artichokes) -- liked it so much we went back there for dinner. Other favorite restaurants are Al 59 Ristorante Da Guiseppe, near the Piazza del Popolo; Checco er Carettiere in Trastevere (a wonderful family atmosphere, terrific food, and a great place for Sunday lunch); and Al Moro, on a small side street near the Trevi, where we had a memorable lunch. (Also, the fresh-ground coffee at Castroni's near the apt is delicious.) We would also recommend My Vatican Tour for really good tours of the Vatican Museum -- small groups, well-paced, with knowledgeable and enthusiastic young American guides (ours had been an art history major). Pat Byrne is excellent to deal with, and quick to respond to all our questions. So many wonderful memories -- we will definitely be back, and we will definitely stay nowhere but in one of Pat's rental apartments.

Spacious, clean and welcoming sanctuary hey, I LOVED this penthouse. Stayed for a week with a girlfriend while researching a novel. From our greeting and orientation with the owner on arrival (who lives only a few blocks away) to the balcony for late day prosecco to the fact it was a retreat from the noise and hectic crowds of the old city--yet just outside the gates at the piazza del popolo, with everything walking distance (well all of old rome is walkable if you are wearning the right shoes! and are in shape). The suite was clean, bright, cheerful and welcoming--a basket of food goodies left for us in the kitchen made our stay even better. We also appreciated that the owner, was a phone call and a block or two away if we needed him--and we didn't but it was reassuring to have the option.A lot of TLC has gone into this suite--and we could not have been more comfortable and at home if we were home. Pat Byrne is such a great liason--thanks Pat! Lori

One of the best positioned apartments in the building. Up on the top floor, with a lovely wide wrap round balcony. For a family the apartment is a good plan as the children's bedroom was off the living space and set apart from the main bedroom. Wonderful having a washing machine and separate dryer (in good condition and good working order ) and having it out on the balcony was not a problem, made it very quiet. The building super was always very helpful and spoke perfect english. The area around the apartment is fine. Little supermarket just around the corner. Within walking distance to all the ancient parts of the city, although we used taxis a lot from the Piazza del Popolo as one of our children can't walk long distances. Walking up through the Borghese Gardens is the BEST and has delightful views of Rome.

Copied from slowtrav. com Location The apartment is located five minutes north of the Piazza del Popolo. The neighborhood was surprising quiet considering its proximity to the sites, e.g.- Pizza del Popolo and Spanish Steps. Nearby Amenities There was a grocery around the corner that was great for picking up the basics. There are a few coffee shops and a gourmet food store all within the vicinity. The House/Apartment The building itself is modern with marble lobby and a doorman. The apartment was tastefully furnished with everything one might need. A point to note, the apartment was impeccably clean. I could eat off the floors! The owner was very friendly and more than accommodating. He helped me figure out my Italian cellphone and booked a taxi for us to go to the airport. The apartment is located on the top floor so we heard no noise, which is a rarity in Rome! Garden There's a nice wraparound terrace with a table and benches. It was a great feature of the apartment that was utilized whenever we were there! Furnishings - Cleanliness - Living Areas The furniture was in great shape. Everything was spotless. The apartment is a nice size. We were a group of three and it never felt cramped. There are doors that open on to the terrace, which makes the apartment nice and airy. On the days where it was really hot, it was nice to be able to use the air conditioner. There were air conditioners in every room except the kitchen. Bedrooms - Bathrooms The master bedroom was a nice size with a gorgeous marble bathroom attached. The smaller bedroom really is tiny, but I didn't mind because I was only using it to sleep. Kitchen I cooked a few nice and authentic Roman meals in the kitchen. It was nice having the balcony to relax on Apr 2008 We had a great trip and our girls just loved Rome. The morning that we had to switch apts, we had an audience with the Pope scheduled. The man that helps you came over and picked up our bags and moved us over to the other apt. so that we could make the audience. We were so grateful to him and really appreciated his going out of his way to accomodate us. The Flaminio apt was great. It was nice having the balcony to relax on when we returned after a day of walking and site seeing. It was convenient to the Piazza Popollo so if we needed a cab, we could get one easliy. The only thing with the apt that was a drawback was the shower in the master bath. [Low water pressure is a city-wide problem] But we made do. We would definitely use your services again and have passed your name on to friends and family that are going over to Europe.

What a wonderful apartment we had in Rome at Il Flaminio. The apartment was spacious, light, and bright, and very comfortable – even for my husband, who is 6 feet four. Even though it was very early March, we were able to eat breakfast out on the terrace a couple of mornings. The location is really great. I thought it might be a little far from the city center, when I looked at the map, but I was entirely wrong. It was just steps from the Piazza del Popolo, an historic piazza but without the throngs of tourists and tacky tourist stands you find on some of the other famous piazzas. Important churches are there, streets fanning out to the most important attractions, many excellent restaurants, and a taxi stand. We found the little supermarket around the corner perfectly adequate and friendly (You’ll find the fresh bread at the butcher’s counter, by the way). The Villa Borghese is next door, where you can find our favorite museum -- the lovely Gallerie Borghese, located on the other side of the park. Because we were there on the first Sunday in March, we were able to walk right in; however, by Friday, all the timed entrances were booked. We were also able to walk right in to the Vatican Museum. We contacted Stefano and he picked us up at the airport, returned us there, and also took us out for a day in Tivoli – again, a rainy day, but still lovely. I would absolutely recommend getting him to drive you there; don’t even think about doing it yourself and public transportation, although cheap, would have taken up a lot of time and energy. The Ville d’Este was enchanting – a rainy day and not that many visitors – we could just wander at will. And we had the best lunch of the week at the lovely little restaurant at the Hotel Adriana – across from the Hadrian’s Villa. The décor was all white and cream, with rose petals on the table cloths – a smiling young waiter with little English but wonderful suggestions for lunch, the house white wine, and sinful dessert. We also found a number of good restaurants near the apartment, especially off of the Via Ripetta, on your right as you cross the Piazza del Popolo. One of the very best was just off the Via Ripetta, the very first right after you leave the Piazza – the Osteria St. Ana – down about two blocks -- Via del Penna 68. Don’t be put off by the entrance; you have to go down some steps and then the restaurant is in the back – wonderful food, wonderful ambiance (warm, family Italian rather th

Our stay in Rome was fabulous. The Flaminio apartment was so comfortable. Your greeter was so thorough in showing us the apartment. One day he called to make sure that we were ok. We cooked practically every night. The bottles of wine that we consumed….The neighborhood was wonderful. We lived in Castroni’s; too many wonderful food items to choose. Renting an apartment immediately puts you in a native mode. Some of the neighbors even spoke to us. The concierge was charming. Stefano was very punctual in picking us up and taking us back to the airport. Our walking tours were great. We used all forms of transportation.Unfortunately, the exchange rate was terrible at the cambios, so we used the bank that was near the apartment. Their rates were very good. It really helped. When Ted and I return to Italy (Florence and Venice), we will use your company again. Thank you (Grazie).

Let me say this up front....the entire trip was one of the best we've taken. he owner of Il Flaminio was very cordial and gave us great advice on where to eat, things to see, etc. He made us very comfortable. The apartment was extremely comfortable and spacious. It's very nice to have a lot of the conveniences of home such as well equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. For city living it was very quiet and we enjoyed waking in the morning to a fresh breeze blowing through the floor to ceiling doors and windows. Pretty much every evening we'd sit on one of balconies surrounding the apartment and have a glass of wine. Italy produces some really great red wines for the enthusiast. I would highly recommend this accomodation. It is very conveniently located within walking distance to virtually everything in the historic part of Rome. We could walk to the coliseum, Vatican, Piazza Novella, Spanish Steps, Forum, you name it, within 30 minutes. I think we enjoyed strolling the back streets and bumping into the hidden piazzas throughout Rome most. The best way to see Rome is to get a bit lost, but we found that very difficult to do. It's a very easy city to get around in. We felt extremely safe anytime of day or night and since most of the vehicular traffic has been banned from central Rome it is very pedestrian oriented, quiet, and clean. We have travelled to about a dozen European countries and had virtually no problems at all in Italy and I can't think of any drawbacks regarding our Rome or Italian vacation. The local populace is very accepting of Americans, surprisingly. T Again, the location of the apartment couldn't have been better located in terms of convenience to sites and being in a quiet location. Tips for future guests? Book an escorted tour of the Vatican before arrival in Rome. The wait in the queus are hours and I don't think I'd waste the time if I didn't have a prearranged tour. Secondly, don't eat in tratorias, restaurants, etc that are located directly in the main piazzas. They are there mainly for the tourist industry and therefore a little on the pricey side. It's best to venture off the piazzas down one of the many smaller streets for food and libations. One I would recommend is Rist. Tritone on Via Dei Maroniti. The service and food quality was extraordinary and the cost was very reasonable. Most quality establishments cost for 4 people ran around $160 for a 4 course meal with wine which we found to be about average. Therefore, be p

We are back from our Italian trip, and I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at the Flaminio apartment. The apartment was everything you promised: spacious, well located and well equipped. It was such fun to shop in the neighborhood and prepare food. As someone who loves to cook, our past trips to Italy have left me frustrated every time I passed a beautiful fruit and vegetable stand or cheese shop. This was the opportunity not only to prepare dishes with the freshest produce I've ever tasted, but also to practice my beginners level Italian with the patient, good natured vendors. This was our first stay in an apartment in Italy, and it certainly won't be our last. Thanks for all your help. Ciao, Ellen E. June 2007

We returned home last Tuesday following enchanted and enchanting visits to Paris, Florence and Rome. The latter was the real summit in many ways thanks to the comfort and convenience of the Flaminio apartment. Everything worked out well from start to finish. We bought Rome Passes for 3 days during our stay and were able to take in a host of sights all around the city, including a walk on the Appia Antica. With the exception of one day, the weather was excellent. We'll be back for sure. Thank you again for your help.

Just got back and had to let you know that everything went beautifully. The apartment was lovely and the owner was friendly and helpful. I will gladly recommend you to one and all. Thanks for helping to make our vacation a super one. I would say that the apartment was well stocked and very comfortable. The location made getting to the sites very easy. It was quiet at night, a real plus at the end of a touring day. wish there were more food shops closer but we managed and found the bigger supermarket in the basement of COIN an, easy walk. [There are other food shops and an open air market nearby, we will put a map in the apartment for future guests.] All in all, a pleasant, safe, clean, and spacious apartment for 3-4 people.Hope that helps, Pat, and thanks again. Overall: We had a wonderful time in Rome. The apartment in Rome was fantastic! Very roomy and comfortable. Location: The location was wonderful. Just a short walk to Piazza del Popolo and even closer to the metro station. Drawbacks: The laundry [room] being out on the patio was a bit of a hassle because of having to keep the screens lowered on that side of the building during the day Nearby sites: There is a fantastic restaurant up in Villa Borghese called CASINA VALADIER. It was pricey, but had fantastic food. An easy evening walk from the apartment. web site casinavaladier.it Tips: Don't get hung up on the owner's seeming obsession with the electricity usage. He practically petrified us that we would end up owing some exorbitant amount for going over the alloted kilowatt hours. In fact, we did several loads of laundry a day, ran the dishwasher a few times, and kept the a/c at American Cold and we only had to leave 20 euros.

I'm sorry to say that we arrived home last night after a wonderful time in Italy . If you speak to [the owner], please let him know how much we enjoyed his wonderful apartment. It is a great place, and I would be happy to offer a reference if you are ever in need of one. Also, please let him know that the driver arrived to take us to the airport right on time, and that we appreciate his assistance in making those arrangements.

We had a terrific time staying in your apartment... everything was great and Rene could not have been nicer. He gave us a little primer on where we were, and what was close by (banca, tobacco stand, market, etc.) We had plenty of room for five. We drew straws on who got the master ,and I lost! We especially enjoyed opening the windows at night for the cool breezes. The girls in the master complained about a loud bird that woke them up WAY too early. HOWEVER, in a day he migrated to the front of the building. We really enjoyed the terrace after a day out sightseeing...wine and appetizers (love those marinated olives from the market around the corner, and also found that great Moretti beer there, try the soft cheese on the brushetta also). We were able to walk to all the restaurants, and that was a big money-saver! I do recommend going to the Borghese -they were having a special exhibit of Raphael there at the time...you have to make reservations online for a two hour time -slot or you will not get in. They were turning people away left and right.

We had a great week in Rome and enjoyed our stay at the Flaminio apartment. The accommodations were excellent. With the exception of low water pressure [a common issue throughout Rome, pb], everything was fine. The water pressure is beyond your control, so we don’t allow it to reflect on the apartment. We could have easily stayed there for a month, it was so comfortable. The location was very good. We always felt safe and it was quiet since we weren’t on a busy street — this is very important to us since my wife and oldest daughter are light sleepers. It was great to be near Villa Borghese, the Flaminio Gate, and Piazza del Popolo. We walked everywhere to get to know the city with the exception of a couple of evenings when we took taxis home. We used the Metro only once to visit the Via Appia Antica and the catacombs.

Overall: The owner was very accommodating and charming. I would highly recommend him. The apartment was very comfortable and in a great location. Location: The apartment for me was in an ideal location...within two blocks of the Piazza del Popolo. From this beautiful piazza, walk to the left and within less than 10 minutes (but who's in a hurry in Rome), you have the Spanish Steps. The center street, Via del Corso, is for shopping, and to the right, Via Ripetta has plenty of good restaurants and a nice wine shop. Getting around: We did use the metro although I don't believe it can get you everywhere in Rome. The buses were easy with clearly marked stops. The best way to see Rome is to walk. Tips: Have the landlord go over every knob, switch, faucet and appliance; there was no hot water and the landlord came right over and discovered that it had been turned off by the previous guest. Also, don't go to the airport hungry; the food is awful. I hope this helps you and fellow travelers to Rome. We did have a wonderful time.
