A Tropical Paradise!

Aloha Lee and Barbara, Thank you for sharing your “piece of paradise” with our family. We have had the best vacation of a lifetime! So many fond memories that we and the boys will take home and cherish forever. These are the memories that we will talk about, laugh about and reminisce for our lifetimes! I had to laugh each time one of the boys would ask me about the forecasted January weather each day. My only response needed was, 84 degrees and sunny!! We have explored the Island of Maui and cherish and love every moment here, finally reaching our “snorkeling haven” destination at the Black Rock Beach on Kaanapali! The sunsets near Lahaina along with our encounters with sea turtles and the numerous humpback whales were absolutely amazing and breathtaking! The condo location in the Maalaea Bay was perfect. We where 12-15 minutes from everything on Maui. Kahalui short distance to the north, Kihei short distance to the east and our favorite, Lahaina short distance to the west! The best thing about the condo was the privacy we felt there and on the beach, unlike the busy touristy beaches such as Kaanapali. Maalaea Bay was so calm and mild that our young boys felt comfortable to swim, snorkel and just play in the tides all day long! The condo was furnished perfectly and very clean and pleasant. We felt very secure and comfortable. The condo provided every amenity that we have at home. My favorite part of the condo was the lanai. Our family would relax, awake, eat and just talk with each other while admiring the beautiful tropical beach. We witnessed many beautiful Maui sunrises and sunsets for the lanai as the warm ocean breeze kept us very comfortable! This was such a special trip, when, with the assistance of my boys and a special message written in the sand just below the lanai, “Briana, will you marry our Dad?”…….. and of course “yes” was the appropriated response!! Relaxing Wonderland

My husband and I just returned to Las Vegas, NV from our most enjoyable, relaxing vacation ever to Maui, HI. We live in "Fantasyland" year round and this was "Wonderland" with a capital "W". It met every expectation. The location is on a quiet tucked away street from the crowds and the view from the lanai is oceanfront to the max. We loved having the in unit washer/dryer and it worked beautifully. This condo is close to everything and anything you want to do.....we did try the "Tahitian Shrimp" at Buzz's Wharf (close enough to walk but we did drive) and their food and service was excellent. We just had the most relaxing time ever and hope to return again soon in 2012. Thank you Barbara and Lee for a wonderful unit and for making everything so easy and uncomplicated. Easiest part of planning our entire vacation and you were wonderful to work with.

A little piece of paradice!

This was our second year in a row to the same condo. We love the central location on Maui that allows quick access to all parts of the island. We enjoyed all of the amenties like being fifty feet from the ocean to barbecuing by the pool. The condo is well equipped with all modern appliances and needs. We've had two tickets to paradice and will definitely plan on a third.

Loving it in Paradise

This is my favorite place in the world to be. If you want to do Maui away from the tourist traps and traffic, this is definitely the way to go. You can save a bundle by using the full kitchen to prepare some of your own meals, or fire up some steak and fish on the barbecues downstairs. The condo is clean, classy, and comfortable, and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

Everything promised!!

We are finishing up a three month stay in this condo and it was everything that was promised and more! This is our third trip to Maui and our favorite stay. We were very pleasantly surprised. We spent many mornings walking for miles on the beach and watching whales from the lanai. (I have some wonderful videos.) It was usually a little breezy in Maalaea but the pros far outstrip that single con... and, frankly, the breezes really helped on those really warm days! It's centrally located, the views are fantastic, and we can literally walk out the door and swim, snorkel, surf, or go paddle boarding! (Our friends in Lahaina envied us.) I don't want to leave!

Good condo, great location!

I'll try to give an honest review as possible. First the good. Probably the best location on Maui. Very centrally located, and a short drive to most places. Awesome view from the lanai, and the beach is literally steps outside your door. Quiet neighborhood with no traffic or other noise / trouble. The beds were comfortable, the condo stocked full of goodies, and the host (Barbara) was a real pleasure to work with. Great weber BBQ grills with free propane, free wifi access, free cable tv. The not so good. The Maalea bay is a mud sink, and when it rains the area near the condo gets covered in red hawaii mud. The ocean turns brown and looks very uninviting. The indoor plants were covered in dust and need a good cleaning. The house keeper through away $30 in food we mistakenly left in the freezer only 10 minutes after we left. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Owner response:In this case, the cleaning people are required to get rid of any items left in the refrigerator as new guests were expected the same day. The artificial plants are being removed from the unit as they do tend to gather dust, are difficult to clean and don't add anything to the ambiance of the unit. We experienced a very heavy rainfall this December for this side of Maui, which is generally very dry. Hopefully it won't be a problem for others. Weather, as you might suspect, is something we have no control over, but is rarely a problem. Thank you Steve for your comments! Barbara

Christmas 2010

My husband and I, along with our son and daughter-in-law, stayed at this lovely condo for Christmas 2010. We had a wonderful time, and the condo fully met our expectations. It is nicely furnished, well-equipped and has a spectacular view. We could sit on the lanai to watch the sun rise over Haleakala and see the whales playing in the bay. We could even see the New Year's Eve fireworks in Wailea. The central location made it easy to get everywhere on Maui. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I hope that I will have the opportunity to stay here again myself.

This trip was a surprise for my wife who has just retired...finally! Beautiful condo off the beaten path This is by far so much better than the "other" rental areas like Lahaina, Kaanapoli Shores, etc. Very quiet and somewhat secluded. Beautiful ocean views and the beach is great. Good restaurants close by. The grounds and pool area are very clean. Two BBQ's are adjacent to the pool. Great for doing steaks at sunset. Definately will return here again.

If we could have made this our full time home we would still be there. There was plenty of room for our family (2 adults & 4 kids). The washer and dryer in the unit were very helpful. The central location made it easy traveling to everything we wanted to see and do. We even walked to the Harbor several times and frequented "Beach Bums", a local restuarant, and the shops nearby. We many enjoyed hours playing in the waters of the ocean and pool. The owner was incredibly easy to work with, especially since we were working around deployment dates. We are looking forward to vacationing there again some day soon.

Barbara, your condo is wonderful. It's central location was perfect so you didn't spend alot time driving to different parts/beaches on the island. Costco and the airport were 10 minutes away. Our weather was great with lots of sunshine. Windy at times but it kept the clouds and rain away. The grounds, pool and bbq area are very clean and well maintained. The condo is clean, quiet and plenty of room for mom, dad and three teen boys. Every morning after a 3 km walk on the beach we would sit on the balcony and watch the mother whales park themselves in the bay and feed their young. Definitely go to Beach Bums Bar and Grill. Make sure you walk because the food is hot and plenty of it. You need to walk your dinner off. Our last day the surf was up and what a show we had. The roar of the waves coming in and surfers galore. Only drawback was we would have liked our own tv in the master bedroom.

In 2008 I stayed in a Kanai A Nalu condo on the 2nd floor. In March, 2009, I happened to stay in Unit 420. I much prefer 420. The space was comfortable, had all the comforts of home, and was clean and well-cared for. The view from the lanai is magnificent, and the whale watching is superb. Thanks to the owners for sharing their space. I'll be back!

This is a fantastic location. This was my 2nd visit staying in this condo and my 5th visit to the islands. I know I will be back as I am already planning my next visit in 2010. Absolutely wonderful, central location! If you want to relax and spend a quiet day relaxing on the beach this is a perfect place to do that. If you want to take a tour or boat outing this is the perfect location for that as well. You can't go wrong staying here. It's wonderful!!

Wow! What a great experience! A fantastic view, right on the ocean. If you want the sun and sandy beaches of Maui and you want someplace that's right on the beach, yet quiet and away from the throngs, then this is the place for you. Get up, put on your shorts and walk on the beach for miles and pass only a dozen people or so. You say it's not possible? We have been staying at Kanai A Nalu for 20 years now and it is true. This is the first time in #420 and from experience I can tell you, this is the best location in the entire complex. Talk about a view! Forget the lower units. From the balcony, you can watch the fish swimming in the water, the sun rise over Mt Haleakala, the boats coming and going out of the marina and locals fishing from shore, spearfishing for octopus or harvesting some seaweed they love! And talk about central - airport, Costco, Kihei, Wealea, Makena, Lahina, Kaanapali, Kapalua.

I just wanted to add this comment simply because I have had so many good experiences staying in Kanai'a Nalu. I have been to other vacation destinations but my favorite place will always be Maui. The Condo is located right on the beach and is located in such a beautiful place on the island. I love'd being able to walk take a walk down to the harbor to see the boats or just lay by the beach. How could someone not fall in love with Kanai' a Nalu and Maui

We recently spent 8 nights at your beautiful condo sharing it with another couple. This was our first visit to Maui and the condo could not have been a nicer place to call home. We loved having all of the comforts of home especially being able to have breakfast on the lanai. The Maui Ocean Center, so close, was a wonderful experience. Shopping and dining within minutes at the harbor was uncrowded and stress free. We took scenic drives and visited the Old Lahaina Luau and Warren and Annabelle's Magic Show. All in all a wonderful relaxing week. We'll definitely be back!

Wow what a place. We loved the condo and the Island of Maui. It was a great first time trip to Maui. We were pleasently surprised at how centrally located the condo was. after a bit of searching for a special place for the two of us to just kick back and relax, we found this property, and boy, what a find. It faces right onto the beach (about 10 metres off the balcony)and is equiped with everything that you need - even some boogie boards! The area is nice and relaxed (just what we wanted). If you are after am area that has a lot of nightlife then this would not be suitable, but we would not hesitate to recommend the condo and would like to think that we will someday be able to return. Thanks Barbara for all your help....

This is definetly the spot if your looking for an island escape, romanitic getaway, or whatever you fancy in a relaxing vacation. The place is well kept and has all the luxuries of home. It's like home away from home, only better! Everything you need is right in the condo: washer, dryer, dishwasher,cooking utencils & more. It's the perfect family vaction place. I love that the pool is gated and it's safe for little ones. Great snorkling, boogie boarding, surfing, and swimming. Lots of fun for everyone! Fresh tradewinds keep temperatures just right. It's a little piece of paradise.
