Redecorated and renovated over the winter 2010-2011, the new and improved East of the Sun is a beautiful and large home situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico right next to Seaside. This gulf front rental home is the closest to Seaside of all available rental homes in Seagrove. In its 6-bedroom configuration, the home sleeps 16 people. The living/dining/kitchen area has fabulous gulf views, and as the entire home is located on one level, it provides convenience for any age group and is perfect for entertaining. The gazebo is situated high up on the dune overlooking the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. It has a covered section to enjoy if it happens to be raining. The entire beach side deck is outfitted with 2 swinging beds, outdoor table with 4 rocker chairs, 4 loungers, six armchairs, and the private beach steps to our sugar white sandy beaches. Elaborate decking and gardens surround home.
Large combination living room/dining room/gourmet kitchen, all with fabulous gulf views. Two seating areas include large sectional sofa, 4 swivel rocker side chairs, 2 coffee tables and decorative fireplace. Relaxing twin swinging bed in living area. Large LCD TV plus DVD/CD/MP3 Sony sound system in the living room. Gourmet kitchen with Jenn-aire gas range, granite counter-tops, Bosch side-by-side fridge with door ice/water dispenser, microwave, dishwasher, and separate vegetable prep sink. Separate wet bar has dedicated ice machine and beverage fridge. The dining area seats up to 10 at the main table plus 8 more bar stools at two different breakfast bars.
Huge king master suite complete with armoire, chest of drawers, 2 plush side chairs, 2 rattan side chairs, 2 bedside tables with 2 lamps, ceiling fans and LCD TV. Newly renovated private bath has Jacuzzi tub, separate double walk-in shower and long vanity counter-top with two sinks. Two additional king bedrooms each have ceiling fan, built-in desk with a desk chair, 2 bedside tables with 2 lamps, LCD TV, chest of drawers, and attached private bath with tub/showers and pedestal sinks. One queen bedroom with ceiling fan, armoire, desk with chair, LCD TV and attached private bath with tiled shower. Final bedroom has 2 twin beds, ceiling fan, LCD TV, bedside table with lamp, chest of drawers and attached private powder room. Bunk bedroom has huge sturdy bunk bed that has a double mattress up and down plus another bunk with twins up and down, LCD TV, chest of drawers, shelves and brand new beautifully tiled private bathroom with vanity sink and tub/shower.

This home is by far the best place we ever stayed. The location and accommodations are perfect - your family history told in pictures and art works are a treasure. We did not mind the cloudy and misty weather with so much to admire inside. Thank you for the rich history of this place and people who are part of this home.

Our stay at East of the Sun has been fantastic! We enjoyed the family photos and collections, and it was so interesting peeking into the history of this home and its founders. It is obvious this is an artists home. We enjoyed fun family meals around the large dining table and the spacious deck was perfect for watching the ocean waves by day and counting the stars by night. We enjoyed perfect weather with no oil in sight. We hope it never arrives to this beautiful beach. See you next June!

This was our first stay at East of the Sun and we loved it! What an ideal house and location. We were fourteen in total, with the youngest being 7 months and the oldest 70 years. We surfed, sunbathed, caught jellyfish, flew kites, kayaked, rode bikes and, of course, ate gelato:) We made wonderful memories together and hope to continue making more here. Thank you for sharing your perfect house on the beach for this family.

From the moment we opened the front door we were in love with this home. It is perfect for a beach gathering. The view is amazing and the back deck is the perfect spot for hanging out. The built-in seats and bed were so comfortable we spent most of our time there. We are 7 women from New Orleans and had such a great time in this home. Plan to be back every year.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I stayed with my family at this house back in 2002. A long time ago I know, but the memory is still as fresh as yesterday! This was such a beautiful house and the view was even better! We fell in love with the bed swing outside, so much so, that we now have one at the cabin in our family. We went at the end of July, and the beach was never packed like it would be at Myrtle Beach. We all had the time of our lives and we'll never forget it!
