Owner Description

The owners are natives of Indiana who relocated by choice to Colorado in 1976. Their home was in Boulder, Colorado but they have owned a second home in Breckenridge since 1977. They retired to their Breckenridge home in 2003 and are now year round residents of Breckenridge. They have four adult children and 10 grandchildren.
She is retired from the staff and faculty of the University of Colorado in Boulder. Her field is Early Childhood Development. She is a nationally known consultant in the campus childcare field.
He is retired from his "earlier life" in the corporate world where he has CEO and interim executive experience with multiple NASDAQ listed public companies. Currently, in his "life after his life", he serves as a Ski Instructor at the Breckenridge Ski Area. He is certified and is ready for his 7th year teaching.
They both enjoy gardening, flowers, hiking, fishing and alpine skiing. Both enjoy family, theater, concerts, international travel, dining with friends, RV motorhome travel and a good book.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
Tarn View House was built in 2000 and acquired by the owners in 2005. The home was built witha stand alone "caretakers apartment" complete with its own private parking, private deck and private entrance. Breckenridge may be a vacation resort area, but it is our permanent home. We have been avid fans of B & B lodging during our European travels. We enjoyed the uniqueness of each B & B. We wanted to share our studio apartment with guests who are not looking for "just another hotel room".
The Unique Benefits of this Private Studio- Executive Home
Not just a hotel room, the studio is completely equipped with a complete kitchen, dining area, king size bed, queen size sleeper sofa, satelite TV, WiFi internet connection, DVD and CD player.
The setting is very private. While on the private deck, guests find themselves in the midst of an Aspen grove and tall native spruce, fir and pine trees. The studio apartment is a part of the main home, yet feels like a small cottage. Ideal for couples or couples with small children. While in a private forest setting, Tarn View House is but minutes from the village center, free parking lots and free shuttle buses that then transport you directly to the gondola and all base areas. Sleds and Snowshoes are available for guest use. Guidebooks and local information are available from the owners.
