My husband and I stayed at Tarn View House for Easter weekend and what a weekend!! Beautiful setting, wonderful hosts and a very comfy place to stay. We were in town to visit adult children and our grandchildren. The weather co-operated. We got to hide Easter eggs outside for our small grandchildren and plenty of room for them to have sleepovers with us each night. We will tell our friends to try Tarn View House if heading to Colorado. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Only 1 mile south of Breckenridge. Quiet, spotless efficiency with separate entrance from the main house. Big king size bed for two, fold out sofa for two kids. Kitchen with all the gear you need. Gene is awesome and very accomodating. Couldn't have asked for a nicer little place. 5 minutes drive to Breck and the gondola parking. Will definitely return.

My wife and I stayed here with our 11 month old son and it was SPECTACULAR! The apartment is immaculately clean and the hosts are as gracious as they come. Being locals, they helped us plan local hikes and things to see. The house is very conveniently located which makes getting around easy. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here as we will the next time we are in Breck.

Breck has been a great way to end our week in Colorado....it's a beautiful state! We enjoyed biking & hiking (we did the hike to Mohawk Lakes that Gene recommended) and explored downtown. The Suite at Tarn View House was more beautiful than it looks online. We loved how peaceful and cozy it is. Jo's gardens were lovely & the chipmunks were a bonus. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

We came to Tarn View House on a "babymoon" wanting to spend some quality time together before the arrival of our first child. Your lovely home was everything we had hoped for. We were able to relax while enjoying the great Breckenridge summer weather and the beautiful surroundings. Your hospitality was above and beyond and we loved every minute of our visit. We hope to return again in the future....next time with the baby.

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation in Breckenridge and Tarn View House was a perfect place to stay. The studio apartment was everything we expected and more. It was equipped with more amenities than we needed and everything was very clean. The owners are wonderful, friendly people who will go above and beyond to assist in any way they can. They are very knowledgable about the area and can recommend things to do, sightseeing trips, the best hiking trails, etc. The location is close to town, but far enough away to provide a quiet environment and privacy. The suite is ideal for two people and we were very happy with our stay.

The is a great location just outside of town - quiet, comfortable, room to stretch (good for kids). The setup and space let us crash in the evening, use the kitchen for our own meal and late night snack, awake to the birds, etc. You will appreciate the chance to unwind, and the good value without any tradeoffs (quite the contrary, the rental exceeds the amenities of the typical cookie cutter condo). Town is less than 5 minutes away.

Wonderful experience, we skied but this is a place to stay year round. Close to town but quiet and private. Jenn and I made some wonderful meals in the fully equipped kitchen (even a gas grill on the deck) plenty of room. Gene was home when we checked in and gave us the tour then excused himself and left us to enjoy our week of skiing then coming "home" to cook and relax. Don't hesitate to book and stay here. We'll be back next year.

Gene and Jo are just great. They went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible and I even got some ski tips from Gene (who is a ski guide). The studio is not big, but very homey and cozy with all the little details of a well cared for home. It was also immaculately clean. Thank you Gene for making my stay in the mountains so memorable and for the interesting discussions on ski, life, career and in between :-)

We stayed at Tarn View House for a few days for skiing and absolutely loved it! Not only was the space perfect for the two of us, but we loved having the full kitchen so we could make breakfast every morning. The owners are so wonderful - they checked in with us when we got in, offered information for skiing and lessons and shoveled our walk area and a path to our car every morning before we went out. The space was very clean and well kept - I would recommend it and will definitely stay there again when we are in Breckenridge!

We are from the Boulder area and planned a girls get away weekend in Breckenridge. Our stay at the Tarn View House exceeded our expectations. Everything from the initial point of contact was extremely detailed and thorough. Gene and Jo have thought of every detail to make the stay enjoyable. The location was close to downtown Breckenridge but far enough away to feel like you were in your own private mountain town. It was quiet and peaceful and very comfortable. We have stayed at many locations in the Breckenridge area over the years and this was the most comfortable place along with a very reasonable price. Thanks Gene and Jo!!

We've just spent nearly 4 weeks in Colorado and of all the places we've sampled, The Suite at Tarn View House was by far the best. The location is very close to town, a beautiful spot next to a frozen lake. The privacy and tranquility was excellent. The accommodation itself had every convenience you could wish for including the hosts, who are really nice and friendly people, happy to help out with whatever you need. We will return to Breckenridge and we will stay here again.
Owner response:Adrian and Katie, Thanks for your kind words. If I did not mention it earlier, we did enjoy the Gnarly Dudes wine. It was special and has created a new fan for the vineyard. Do let us know if we can ever do anything for you prior to your next visit to Colorado's high country. All our best wishes to the both of you. Gene and Jo

We have just had the pleasure of a nine night stay in the Tarn View Suite. In a stunning location in the woods above Breckenridge, the suite has everything for a wonderful vacation. Despite record low temperatures (-29 F) the accommodation was cosy and warm in every sense. The owners Gene & Jo were brilliant, providing a warm welcome and attention when required. We have stayed in Breckenridge a few times but Tarn View exceeded our expectations and we have promised to return. Thanks for a making it a brilliant holiday, John &Sue - Yorkshire, England

My son and I stayed from Sunday to Friday. It was one of the most beautiful places that I have ever stayed. For a studio apartment it had every thing needed, from the coffee to the robes. I felt as if a was staying with a friend, not renting. Jean and Jo were so nice and made us feel like old friends that were coming to stay. I normally don’t take the time to leave a revue, this time I had to. Thank you Jean and Jo, see you as soon as possible Rick Dougal

We have been skiing in Colorado for past 16 years, and this suite has it all. It is cozy, big enough for all the ski stuff we all must have and it is warm. After staying in hotels and motels and inns all over, this was a place to be. Quiet, cozy and warm. We enjoyed the humidifier, too. Thank you foe letting us stay in your house.

The property was just as advertised and very well supplied with kitchen items, linens, paper products, etc. Our main objective was to escape the Texas heat, and secondary objective was to see birds. Both objectives were realized, though to varying degrees. Gene was very helpful in suggesting places that we might go for birdwatching, and actively urged us to ask if we needed anything for our comfort. Our week was very enjoyable, and we were reluctant to return to Texas in August.

This was our first time at the Tarn View House. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. The place was spotless and very modern. It has everything available that you should ever need. We were amazed by the thoughtfulness of the owners. The patio was very nice and we were able to grill on our own BBQ every night. All in all, this was one of the best vacations we have ever had. My wife, my son and myself had an awesome time! I would highly recommend this property to my friends. If you have small kids, I recommend the short hike to Mayflower Lake. My 3 year old had a great time. I am sure Gene will be more than happy to show you how to get there.

My girl-friend and I booked this great studio apartment located in an incredible and scenic area about 5 minutes from Breckenridge. Having spent one week in late winter this year, we found ourselves enjoying the comfort, coziness and privacy not typically found in standard hotels. The studio itself is perfectly sized for a couple and possibly 1-2 children, with a well-appointed kitchen, full bathroom, living and dining rooms and plenty of storage space, a necessity for those who travel with ski gear. Our hosts were very cheerful, reliable and helpful in providing us with a great and enjoyable vacation. We would certainly recommend this studio to anyone seeking comfort and quality time away from the bustling crowds.

We had a wonderful stay at the Tarn View House. The owners really go the extra mile to make the stay as comfortable as possible and are accessible so much to answer questions you may have. You will have to drive about 1.5-2 miles to get to town, which is completely not a problem as long your car is equipped to drive in the winter. The view from the condo is beautiful and had everything we needed from many kitchen utensils, free coffee/tea/hot chocolate, TV, internet etc. We would definitely recommend the house to anybody!!
