Casa Blanca is located in the beachfront community called Surfside Estates. It is only a 75 kilometers (45 minutes) drive to Liberia's international airport with daily direct flights to the United States. Only 25 kilometers from Tamarindo Airport, providing hourly flights to and from San Jose. Playa Potrero is a wide, palm shaded beach, four kilometers long which surrounds Potrero Bay. From there you can see the Catalina islands, volcanic rock formations that are a favorite destination for divers and fisherman due to its abundant marine life.

Playa Potrero is a five minute drive to Playa Flamingo, a multi national community surrounding a marina which can accommodate up to 70 sailboats or yachts. Flamingo also offers an international language school, a dive center, an internet cafe, casino, shopping, and a variety of restaurants and bars. Playa Potrero is located only 20 minutes from Playa Grande, nesting area for the Giant Leatherback turtles.

A 20 minute drive takes you to Tamarindo, one of the best surfing areas in the world. The surrounding area also offers activities with wide appeal, including golf (an 18 hole Robert Trent Jones golf course is only five minutes away), swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sport fishing, adventure tours, horseback riding, monkey and bird watching, canopy tours, surfing and trips to the regions volcanoes and rainforests.

  • We rented both houses, and enjoyed them tremendously. I have rented houses throughout Costa Rica, and have never stayed at one that is so well stocked. The kitchen has appliances I have never seen in a beach house, including blender (my sister made gazpacho!), etc. In addition, the house provides beach towels and even a beach mat, again, which I have never seen at a beach house in Costa Rica. Moreover, it has a gas grill, with which we cooked the most delicious fresh fish, bought at the local fish market. I recommend beaches La Penca and Conchal, for which, however, you will have to drive. Potrero itself is not the best beach around.

  • We had a wonderful time. Our kids loved the pool and we all loved the neighborhood feel. It was great to be able to walk to the beach and the gelato place is only a short bike ride away. We also loved the resident toad. Thank you for sharing Casa Blanca with us!

  • Stayed at Casa Blanca and had a great time. Visited beaches, Playa Potrero, Penca and Flamingo. Had great food at the Castle, El Grillo and Marco Polo. Enjoyed nice sunsets at Bahia Del Sol resort and Las Brisas. Can't wait to stay again. Loved the backyard w/pool.
