Spent a couple of very memorable days in Taos for the recent Mumford and Sons concert at Kit Carson park. I highly recommend the casita for people interested in attending events at the park as the location is very close. The home is well stocked with all the comforts of home and very close to everything downtown. A turn left at the bottom of the hill opens up opportunities to visit nearby Angel Fire, Eagle's Nest, and Cimmaron. Had a great time and recommend this gem of a home for couples and families.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Charming house only a couple blocks from center of everything in Taos, the galleries, restaurants, plaza, etc. One block away from Mabel Dodge Luhan house where we attended a conference. Kit Carson Park is right at hand for jogging and the Taos Center for the Arts. Old abobe walls surround a private patio which gives one easy access to Taos air and sunshine. Great to have wireless internet, too.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wonderful little location for a relaxing week for 2. The house was in great condition and had all the amenities we could ask for, and the great weather was a bonus! Over the course of our week's stay, we had easy access to everything within a couple hours drive, including the Gorge, Taos Ski Valley, Enchanted Circle, Santa Fe and Puye and the Taos Pueblos. And when we weren't busy sight seeing we walked to the Taos Plaza to see the locals shops and eateries. Around the house we were very comfortable and anytime we thought we might need something to help with our stay, we opened a cabinet and it was there. The house is more like a home away from home than a vacation getaway. Enjoy your stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have used VRBO several times and always know there is a certain amount of risk involved when booking a property that we have never used before. Well, we could not have been happier with this property. It's as described and more. The casita was the romantic getaway we hoped for and is very comfortable. The owners taste in southwest design and decorating is perfect. We woke to snow the morning after we arrived and the walks to and from the downtown Taos shops and restaurants via both streets and the Kit Carson Memorial Park were magical! The short drives to Angel Fire and Taos Ski Valley were Beautiful! Our last morning we woke warm and cozy to -17F outdoor temperature. Note: Do not leave the kiva gas fireplace in "on" position, use the Thermostat setting, else you will be opening the door to cool off! We highly recommend this property and owner!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have been traveling to Taos for an annual winter ski trip for a few years now and this Casita is our new favorite place to stay. It captures all the charm that the lovely town of Taos and the surrounding area exude. You will feel right at home in this lovely one bedroom warm space just seconds away from the downtown plaza. The owners have taken great care in ensuring their guests are comfortable and have everything they need as if they were in their own home. I HIGHLY recommend this casita to a couple traveling to Taos that is looking for a home away from home (with a very comfy bed) that is charming and cosy and a great place to rest your tired bones by a nice fire at the end of a long day of the mountain. I know we will definitely return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent a long Memorial Day weekend at this lovely casita. It was suprisingly spacious for a one bedroom home, and the kitchen had all the pots & pans we needed to cook our meals. The location is great, right off the back of Kit Carson park, on a quiet cul-de-sac and very walkable to town. The outside space was very enjoyable to sit and read in the mornings and afternoons. We are looking forward to our next stay at this wonderful home.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Taos, and this property is in the perfect place - very close to the centre of Taos, but very quiet. The living area in the house is lovely, with two big leather settees, and a gas fire, and there was a huge amount of information about the area in the drawers of the coffee table, which was very useful. The weather was warmer than I was expecting, and it was very pleasant sitting outside on the secluded patio. The area around Taos is beautiful, and every road out of town takes you on a scenic drive. It was a great place to base yourself to explore that part of New Mexico. The only negative comment I would make is that credit cards were not accepted, which, as an overseas visitor, is a bit inconvenient.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: WE DO ACCEPT 'PAYPAL' ......

I felt very much at home here. I used it as home base for my Taos snowboarding trip. Value priced and an ideal location to take advantage of Taos and a very reasonable daily drive to the mountain. Everything I needed was a short walk or a short drive. My only regret is not having more time to enjoy what Taos had do offer away from the mountain.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We come to Taos a couple of times a year and always try to book this casita. It has everything you could want in a vacation casita. Great location. Great amenities. It feels like home away from home. Lambert's, Graham's Grill, Doc Martin's and the Adobe Bar are only a few of the great places to eat. The picture of the Casita are great, and it is always a pleasant surprise to find the actual property nicer than the pictures.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We thoughly enjoyed our stay at this attractive and well furnished rental in the historic district of Taos. It is a perfect size for two people. We enjoyed the gas fireplace on the chilly October mornings & evenings. The location was very quiet, no traffic or people noise although it is next to Kit Carson Park. The Park was a bonus with walking trails and open space. The owner recommended many restaurants and we tried most, which were good to outstanding. The Love Apple was our favorite. We would recommend a visit to Ghost Ranch, the Taos Pueblo and a drive on the High Road to Taos. We would definitely return to this house.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from 6 days in Taos. Our stay at this casita was terrific. The house was very clean, nicely appointed and the linens/bed were high quality and comfortable. The adobe wall surrounding the house provided a lot of privacy for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon. My husband and I just returned from a wonderful four-day trip to Taos. We stayed in this lovely little casita and highly recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet, comfortable stay. It is very roomy for two people and well-equipped with any necessities. The inside has a cozy, comfortable feel and is very tastefully decorated throughout. One of our favorite things to do each day was to sit in the quiet courtyard with our morning coffee or return after a day of roaming and sightseeing to relax there again with a glass of wine before dinner. The short walk to the plaza area made it easy to access the numerous galleries, shops, and restaurants in the area. The owners seem to take care and pride in keeping it clean and comfortable, and they provide hints and guides on what to see and do around the area. One of our favorite outings was a scenic drive down the Rio Grande gorge to the area just southwest of Espanola, where we visited the fabulous Puye Cliff Dwellings, returning via another scenic drive north again. We thank Robin and Steve for a very pleasant home away from home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

To those of you who are planning a trip to New Mexico and are considering a stay in Taos, we highly recommend vrbo listing 74410. We just spent a week there and, never having been to Taos before, we diligently scanned all the listings and are so glad we chose this cozy Casita. You will not be disappointed. We found it just as the pictures depicted it, inviting and comfortable. You will find the location very important to your stay. It is at the end of a quiet (no traffic) residential street within walking distance to The Plaza and many of the shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed walking the shortcut through the park to church and for breakfast at Michael's. If you are inclined to cook some of your meals, the kitchen has everything you will need. After a day of walking and shopping, the courtyard was so nice to sit outside and relax, listen to the birds singing and enjoy the sunshine. We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay in Taos, and are so glad Steve and Robin have made their Casita available to those of us visiting. So, so much better than a hotel.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our stay at the Casita in Taos. It was very close to the town square, easily walking distance but was on a very quiet street. The house was very clean, provided dishes etc plus some condiments on the shelf, which were handy. The queen bed was also very comfortable. Since this was towards the end of a 2 week trip we appreciated the washer and dryer. The drive to the ski area was only 20 minutes and there is an option of a bus. All in all a great location and a nice place for two people. Steve was very helpful.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this casita between Christmas and New Year's. It was wonderful to relax in such a charming place. It was adorable. Loved the decor! Very spacious with plenty of room for two. Very clean and comfortable. It had everything one could possibly need. In walking distance of the plaza but we did not walk! It snowed the whole time we were there. Just beautiful though. Although we enjoyed our winter stay, we would love to come back during warmer weather so we could use the courtyard and be outside more. Steve and Robin were readily available to us during our stay and very accurate in the description of their casita and the location. We would highly recommend this place. I did not feel cramped at all. I could spread out and slept great. We give an enthusiastic five-star rating to this beautiful casita. VRBO properties sometimes are disappointing as compared with their online descriptions, but this one was even better than described. It's wonderfully furnished and full of local color, very quiet (at the end of a dead-end street that's an easy walk from the Plaza), and just the right size for a couple's getaway. The kitchen is especially well stocked, so that if you're in the mood for cooking and eating in, there are plenty of supplies. Steve and Robin, the owners, are also great about responding to emails very quickly. If we come back to beautiful Taos, we'll definitely come back to this casita!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The Taos Casita Experience - Superior My wife and I have reached the age where our vacations are “Experience” driven rather than “Event” driven. We have used VRBO for many years to help define the extended stay “Experience” rather than just a base to attend an “Event.” This has taken us to Provence, Tuscany, Central Mexico and many locations in the USA. Taos and the environs are uniquely situated to provide a Cultural, Colorful, Food, Sites, and Sounds experience - the Taos Casita was the perfect complement to this adventure. Others have mentions the “Location” and we certainly agree with that, but it is so much more. In architecture, setting, decoration, furnishing, and comfort it met our every expectation of complementing and enhancing our Taos Experience. The comfort of the Patio was perfect for enjoying our evening libation while looking through the material of places to go and do and plan the next day or reflect on today. The BBQ prepared many incredible dinners. The interior comfort for an afternoon snooze, preparing a meal, or evening reading let us fully engage in Taos. Your Casita home will not be just a place to “stay” but a place to “live” the total experience that Taos can offer. Steve and Robin were extremely helpful and the material provided in the house gave us more suggestions for events than we could ever accomplish. The Village Markets were especially fun. Try it - You will like it!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

to living there. Great house and yard, very private, beautiful furnishings and art.. a hop skip and jump.. actually, we strolled.. to town, to Kit Carson park.. a cut thru the park takes you for a quick breakfast at Michaels, by the time you stroll back to the Plaza.. stopping at great shops.. you might be ready to eat again.. the little cafe in the Art Colony or whatever it is, is great. The photos don't do it justice.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The house was adorably cute, affordable, clean, and beautifully decorated with local art. We felt right at home & loved it! It was only about 2 blocks from the Plaza, so you could walk to eat & shop and it was at the end of a very quiet street, which made the courtyard even more appealing to sit & have our morning coffee & read our books. I think it amplified our Taos experience to stay in a bona fide casita with the whole southwestern feel, as opposed to a hotel room.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I had the pleasure of staying 3 months in this lovely casita this summer, and it was perfect for me. The pictures show the house exactly as it is, and it had everything I needed for my extended stay. Also, the location is great, within a 5-minute easy walk to the plaza and near many other interesting places to see. Plus there are several good restaurants nearby. The 3 large shade trees kept the house and yard cool, even on the hottest days. And the courtyard was a delight; I enjoyed many hours there. Steve readily answered any questions I had and followed through as needed. Taos is a special place and staying in this home made my Taos experience even more special. I highly recommend it as a great place to stay when visiting this unique town.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We come to Taos two or three times a year and know it pretty well. This great casita is on a quiet dead end street very close to the plaza. The furnishings are top of the line. The location is great. The bed is comfortable. We had a great relaxing trip and hope to stay here again when we come back early October. Thanks to the owners for making this little jewel available.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We spent New Years in this lovely casita, and were really pleased with how comfortable and equipped it is. We also loved how centrally located it is, very easy to walk to shops and some fantastic restaurants. The owner is very accessible if you have any questions.Did you find this review helpful? 9/17- 9/22/2007 Thank you so much for opening your home as a place to stay in Taos. It was the perfect place for us to stay. It provided a Home away from home, which was just what we needed. We will most certainly recommend your home to others that are looking for this type of stay while in Taos.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1
